What a scam. My poor mother was taken advantage of in this store, prying on her age and the beauty standards of looking young to sell her an overpriced product. (5.3k) in skin care that we are not even sure that works. We came to hanalei as tourists, and this is why they brought her in I assume. They held onto her for almost 1.5 hours trying to pry money out of her hands. I advised her to say no, when we told the guy we didn't want the product he probed and asked why and tried to make her feel uncomfortable with the emotions she was sitting with. She now regrets saying yes. This was expensive and coniving and genuinely feels so painful that people like this exist. I understand people are trying to make a living, but sales like this are unhonest and ruthless. Older women and men deserve to feel beautiful not need something to achieve that beauty. Age is such a wonderful thing and these people sell that insecurity to poor souls who are visiting this wonderful shopping outlet. Locals even described it as graping your money. Would not recommend EVER. If I could give a zero rating I would. read more

Moritzio approached me outside his store while I was walking around Ching Young Village during vacation with my husband. He handed each of us a sample packet of eye cream and asked if I wanted him to demonstrate it. I said yes, but that we had plans and I could only stay a couple of minutes. He agreed and said he would apply the cream and give me a brochure if I wanted more information. We went inside and he applied the eye cream. It is one of those "instant facelift" creams that contains magnesium aluminum silicate (look it up on Google and EWG dot org). All of the "instant facelift" creams contain this key ingredient. I was just curious about what made his eye cream different or better. Anyway, he proceeded to try a very "hard sell" on me for the eye cream and its "system." Every time I tried to say "thank you, give me a brochure and I'll think about it" he launched into a new topic to try to keep me there. After a few more minutes my husband and I both began getting very annoyed. We had made it clear that we couldn't stay long, and he had promised only to take up a couple of moments of our time. He broke his promise. Finally, when we insisted that we had to leave, he shouted at us (direct quote) "You two are f**cking a**holes. Get out of my store." Then he stormed away. We were really taken aback. There was no reason for such abusive offensive language. We had been polite to him the entire time, going along with his sales pitch and demonstration. This store, and this man, bring shame to Ching Young Shopping Center and the town of Hanalei. I looked up the company on Google later and found so many complaints about them and their sister companies (which all sound like scams). I'm surprised that the beautiful town of Hanalei allows this rude shyster to harass and insult tourists and locals in such an overt and offensive way. In my opinion, Ching Young Village should not renew this store's lease when it comes up. Moritzio said he was Brazilian and had lived in Israel for a number of years. Well Moritzio, if you're reading this, you are a shonda on Hanalei. May your rude obnoxious behavior come back to you tenfold. read more

these people are total scammers they migrated to Kauai not that I had hives and got severely burns on my skin because of their product I got the hospital. I hate these people don't buy from them your life is at risk if you go in their store... read more

Too pushy. Always upselling and pressuring your potential customers. Dont enjoy walking by your store at Ching Young Village Hanalei because you're so damn pushy. No aloha. Quit talking stink about ppl when they don't buy your products. read more

Do yourself a favor if shopping in this plaza...enter and exit on the side where Jo Jo Shave ice is. Wasted atleast 45 minutes saying NO, to their products. Started off with $1000 eye cream with free extras, then switched to an expensive machine to decrease wrinkles. AVOID THE AREA! They are out giving free samples to lure you in read more

Absolutely rude and scummy in an otherwise lovely shopping area. The owners/staff spend their time heckling people walking nearby to try and lure them into their store. When you ignore them or politely decline to engage, they'll make even worse comments about you. Follow the other reviews and stay away. read more

This business is a complete and total scam. Do not purchase anything from them. Not only do they engage in high pressure sales, but the test product they apply on you is NOT what you purchase. It kills me that this type of business continues to exist in Hanalei. read more

They harass you on the street and try to get you in their store. Just ignore them so they don't get mad at you when you don't wanna pay $300 for a miracle face cream. It's sad this scam is allowed to bother people trying to to shop at the Ching Young Village. read more

They take thousands of dollars of your money for what they claim is "fountain of youth" natural clean products from the deep sea to keep you young although that happens from eating healthy, controlling stress, exercise and adequate sleep. Then, the owner does not honor his contract and offers the products still, but at double the price in the contract. There are many of these companies you will see around in your time that make false promises, will not last, nor honor their contract. Do NOT use this company or other similar pop-ups. Use trusted, verified clean products on EWG. My new go to for products is Attitude, a Canadian company. These products actually work. Tresor Rare products are garbage and cannot be found on EWG. If you cannot find a product on EWG, do not buy if you care about your health or pocketbook! read more

Terribly pushy sales. Inviting my mom in the shop just to apply the eye cream as we were walking down the street then the girl signals the man to come and start to talk to me (daughter) while the girl was trying to sell stuff to my mom. As I was recognizing their sales tactic I told my mom it's time to leave then the sales people became aggressive. STAY AWAY! read more

Just when you thought it couldn't get worse. After years of terrible reviews this business actually took down all their signage so potential targets couldn't find out who they were dealing with and leave yet more negative reviews. This slimy move fits perfectly with the rest of their high pressure and deceptive sales practices. Make sure to check reviews and better business complaints before stepping into this place. read more

Do not trust this company. They are CON Artists. Bait & Switch, hocus pocus products. Slick drip-drip-drip high pressure sales people. Stay Away. Unbelievable hard pressured sales. Crooks. I was offered a free facial as an incentive- but instead was suckered into an exceedingly high pressured sale after recovering from CoVid and the death of my father. I was simply walking around Ching Young Village. I immediately tried to invalidate the sale, and even after I returned unopened shipment they refused a refund - I was never told no refunds. Now I'm dealing with a long credit card dispute due to bad faith. This is Not the Aloha Kauai has always held dear as a tradition. read more

I'm one of those who invested a significant amount of money in a skincare program filled with promises by Giovanni. Giovanni left the company and the promises are no longer honored even though they are documented in various email agreements. I'm not one to frivolously write a bad review but after holding off for a while to let my emotions settle down, I feel I need to warm others. I do not recommend doing business with Tresor-Rare. Trying to get them to meet commitments will just wear you down and I suspect they count on that. I paid my stupid tax and hope you can avoid doing the same with this warning. read more

Can I give this a minus 10? Pushy- rude to my teen daughter who is astute enough to see right through their garbage. While Tresor Rare is a legit company- they were pushing products that were "damaged boxes" not even the same brand. STAY AWAY. Super pushy. I'm not even sure how I ended up in their store-they were that good at pulling me in. Luckily, I had no interest in perusing skin care, was able to say no thank you and get out before I was conned. read more

Stay away from these crooks. They took advantage of my mother and swindled her out of her hard earned money and fraudulently charged her credit cards placing her in debt. I had the same experience as the other one-star customers explained. Unbelievable. Disappointing. Upsetting. Untrustworthy.

BUYER BEWARE! Do not purchase any products from them! I wish there was a way to give zero stars. They sell overpriced products and provide broken promises. I paid in advance for two years of product but when I went to get refills they told me I had to pay $30 for each product for shipping. The product itself should not even cost that much. I fought with them for months to no avail. They are complete and utter crooks. read more

I was approached while shopping in Hanalei Kauai. The saleswoman asked if I would like a free sample of "amazing" eye cream. It was guaranteed to make me look 10 years younger. I told her my daughter and I were on way to get lunch but she was very aggressive in getting me inside the store. She was one step away from dragging me in. She applied the eye cream under one eye then told me it would take time to dry. She took this time to tell me all about the Tresor products. After the eye cream dried, she called my daughter over and made a huge production about how young I looked. My daughter agreed...only because she wanted to get out of there. Honestly, the skin did look tighter under the eye she applied the cream to. Just be careful not to smile, otherwise that tight skin will make you look SCARY. Long story short, I sat in this chair for almost 15 minutes. She applied numerous products on my arm and wrists. I told her I was not going to spend $3000 for products I have never heard of but promised to take her card. She was not having it. She started to print off stuff that "showed" the products were thousands of dollars but would give it to me for only $300 because she liked me. She wanted me to tell my friends all about Tresor Rare, hence the great deal. ARRRRGGGG. I just wanted to leave. I finally explained that I am not buying a product without checking reviews on it. At that point, she stopped talking to me and didn't even say goodbye as I walked out the door. I am so surprised Hanalei has a store like this. This is not the relaxed Hawaiian experience people want. read more

Stay away from this store, these products, and most importantly, these people. My teen daughter and I were lured in by a seemingly lovely young woman who offered moisturizing samples and a "special" eye serum for me. We let her know we just had a minute and she said it would be quick. She said she was going to look for something, disappeared, and her "skin specialist", Maurizio from Brazil, appeared. He applied some goop under my eyes and while waiting for it to dry, alternated between giving fake compliments of my jewelry, my smile, etc, and criticizing my judgment in not immediately accepting his offer to sell me the goop for $635 instead of $1500. He made all kinds of unscientific claims about how the product works and how long the effects will last. Had I not been educated or had been seduced by his affect, would have been sucked into a multi-thousand dollar scam to purchase and subscribe to his products. When it was clear that I was not going to purchase the product, he became aggressive and then angry, telling me and my daughter to leave. Please avoid this scam artist. The elderly, women who will try anything to look younger than their age, and others who are vulnerable need to be protected from this man and his colleagues. read more

I, too, was offered a "damaged" box at a discount rate, which is why I reacted to an earlier review describing the same scenario as being "funny." Funny that they use such a cheap and obvious tactic. It isn't funny at all that these creeps are allowed to operate as a legitimate business, because it is a totally high-pressure, take no prisoners scam. I agree that their sales "techniques" are out of sync with the other legit businesses in the area. I do not understand why they are tolerated. My sales guy actually made an anti-Semitic comment when I declined to purchase the products--totally unacceptable, offensive, and reprehensible. read more

SCAM!!!!!! This unscrupulous weasels sold me and my husband $8000.00 worth of creams and LED light promising us that it would help with crows feet, discoloration, wrinkles etc. We were offered a $800 facial and they only did half of our faces. Giovanni told us that he owned this particular store and that if we were not happy with the products that we would get a refund. We told him that we were saving this money to celebrate my husband being cancer free and wanted to go on vacation so we agreed only because he said we would get a refund. After a few months of using the products and light we did not notice any change at all. We contacted Giovanni and he changed our daily regimen. After a few more weeks we tried reaching him again and we never got an answer so we went in the Hanalei store and asked for him and were given a customer service email. To make this story short, we found out Giovanni was not the owner he was just an employee and was not working for the company any longer, he was never the owner. The customer service rep told me the company doesn't give refunds on any of the products. We were lied to and taken advantage of. They swindle us of our hard earned money. We can not believe these weasels are allowed to be here on the island taking advantage of innocent people. Unfortunately my husband did not get his skin better after all his cancer ordeal and we were not able to go on vacation to celebrate him being alive because they took our money. My wife was on her way to do other shopping in this small retail complex when she was approached by a very aggressive sales woman while still walking on the sidewalk. My wife and I had just arrived in Princeville, Kauai and were still somewhat jet-lagged. This sales person talked my wife into buying 2 bottles of product and some sort of a "Non-Surgical Face-Lift Session" worth a total of approximately $1700, but that she could have everything for $200. No problem, right? Wrong. After purchasing these items on our credit card, she noticed the receipt stated that there were no returns if purchased on promotion. We tried to return the items the next day and were told we couldn't. We were given a bogus phone number of someone on the east coast who we needed to talk to. That person supposedly had no knowledge of this business and referred us back to the store. Long story short, my wife still has the 2 unopened products with no chance of getting the session because we left a few days later. Later we even emailed the "Corporate Headquarters" where we were told there would be no return or credit. In retrospect, I believe this so-called business is a major scam that preys upon the weak and kind-natured. I'm just sorry we didn't read these negative reviews before shopping here. It would have saved us some money. read more

When I walked by the elegant Tresor-Rare shop in Hanalei a few days ago, I was a bit curious. The young man standing outside was not about to let me walk by. He just about strong-armed me inside! Practically before I could say no, he had his hands on my face and was applying some goo under my right eye. I had to hold my hand up to fend him off so he wouldn't put it on the other side. He promised results even with one treatment. Let me tell you: I experienced zero positive effect! Just an uncomfortable itch. Only after I got home to my computer did I google this business to see what their reviews and scam reports might be. Wow! Note to self: never enter a shop with a sleazy sales pitch at the door without first doing the research! read more

Just have been walking around Hanalei with my family, me and my grandma walked into the store and a super nice guy put some stuff under her eyes and it was incredible! I told her that she definitely has to purchase, although it was little bit pricey.. We came back and bought some more products and they are even doing free shipping to our place to CA. Highly recommended we had an amazing experience! read more

How in the world is this place allowed to be operating in the charming little town that I love for it's easy going and laid back nature. The last thing I need to have is someone prey on me as I pass by the storefront on my way to purchase a hat for my son a few shops over. Thank you for the glue that you put under my eyes. It was an amazing experience and it wore off in 2 hours and left a residue under my eyes...simply amazing. Offering samples, changing products as they fast talked to confuse customers, price reductions if I show a valid State license, and wine to the customers...wow really! Offer to sell me a box that was damaged for less...what a racket! We stayed and listened just because it became laughable to hear what would be said next. I'm in sales and this was hilarious to watch but at the same time got me fired up for all the poor innocent people who paid thousands of dollars for products for this schmooze job company. Oh and by the way when you wrote on the card you gave us about the "peeling lotion" you called it "peeing lotion" and I would think you should make sure you spell that correctly in the future if you really know what you are talking about. These sales associates are trained to take advantage of people and these products are a very expensive fake. I sure hope upon my next visit to Hanalei...I see a different shop in this space. I was accosted by a rude salesgirl as we walked by the Tresor Rare store in Hanalei, HI. She pressed a sample packet of cream into my hand and admonished me to do something about my "puffiness and lines." We were invited into the store by Maorizio Carvalho, who offered to show us some age defying skin products for a few minutes.  The salon was nicely decorated with a few clients and consultants available.  Maorizio was very complimentary and applied some products that did show remarkable elimination of eye wrinkles and discoloration.  Then came the sales pitch.  He offered some GREAT deals on the products, but they were way over our price range.  Finally he offered a great package deal with future benefits and he really focused on how he would personally follow up with us to make sure that we are using the products properly and are happy with the results that we are having.  In the end I put down a deposit for the package.  I went home and did some research finding that the product consistently had great review, but the sale people, most reviews coming from Las Vegas, were pushy salesman.  After reviewing our budget I could not afford the product, but Maorizio was very kind to refund my deposit and still give me some demo product to try.  I was impressed with his customer service, attention to detail and friendly attitude, and of course the looks and accent were a bonus.  I highly recommend visiting the Hanalei salon and making an appointment with Maorizio. read more
