They said all they needed to do was contact my lienholder to get a payoff amount then sent me an email the following day saying they are sorry but they can not approve. Reached out to Tresl through Credit Karma to refinance my auto loan, and it was a terrible experience all around. There was almost no communication and my agent kept putting me off for some reason saying he would get back to me one day just for me to wait multiple days. Come to find out it was because the first lender they connected me with bailed leading to Tresl doing a second hard credit inquiry for a second lender without my consent. Ended up getting offered an APR that was only slightly lower than what I already had with a bunch of terrible stuff in the fine print. Apparently the 5% rate that they advertise is below the 7% minimum that actually financial institutions can offer and is nothing more than a bait and switch. I won't be surprised when they get hit with a class action lawsuit. Stay away from this scam company. read more

Tresl Unfortunately, Avis has selected a dishonest, disorganized, unprofessional company to facilitate their sales transactions. Picture the sleaziest used car company you can, and insert the name Tresl. All the worst bait and switch tactics, along with a whole host of dishonest fees which magically appear on your final statement. + $1,000 Expect the car you are interested in, to have an additional $1,000 in fees added by the time your final purchase document shows up. You see, that's part of their sleazy used car sakes strategy. Request (with urgency) all of your buying documents including your personal data, get you so "invested" in the process but avoid providing the final pricing no matter how many times you request this information. Then - at the very end, after their disorganized activity, dishonest sales practices are exhausted - you receive a final sales order with a bunch of inaccurate registration, title, dealer lot inventory taxes, runner fees, service fees, processing fees piled on. Bait & Switch Scam - Tresl's sales tactics encourage you to invest your time. Tresl wants you to become attached to the car during your three day test drive. After your time investment, and emotional energy expended arguing with Tresl, then Tresl slides all these fees into the final closing documents. I bought a vehicle from Avis in December 2022 using TRESL for the payment, paperwork, and titling. Despite paying in total, I still need to receive the title, so I can't register the vehicle. I've tried contacting them multiple times but am still waiting for a response. The original documents were sent to a Department of Motor Vehicle location six hours away and issued incorrectly. Even after informing TRESL that it still needed to be fixed, TRESL never did. The DMV returned the incorrect documents to TRESL, and TRSL never corrected them. I can't register my vehicle, so I keep renting a car. Today, 06/24/2024, I finally talked to someone in customer support. The Title Department promised a callback within 48 hours, but I have yet to receive one. TRESL, please provide the vehicle's title and all the proper documentation (there's no lien). He was incredibly thorough, a great communicator, and clear about milestones throughout the process. He even helped saved me from having to pay several hundred dollars in state registration fees as I had already just paid to renew my existing registration with the state. If I didnt call them to find out what was going on, the paperwork may never have been sent to DMV. My temporary plates expired and my state is taking its time to complete the process. So, I initially went to refinance my vehicle because it was recommended through Credit Karma. Big Mistake. They approved me, agreed upon a rate that would save me on my monthly payment. Started with a 761 credit score and I never missed a car payment. The representative, Kevin was nice and seemed pretty attentive when I first got approved on May 4th 2020. I was pretty excited. First bank they tried to go to: Wanted 5 years of work and tax history and my title. I figured, why not I'll do what I have to do. 2 weeks later they denied it. I was told not to worry, we're going to try someone else. Another hard inquiry, and another and another. After 3 failed banks, tons of jumping through hoops and providing everything short of DNA swabs and Phrenological cranium measurements I was told we're in business. Its 6/22/2020, I have been ghosted by my "Finance Adviser" since the beginning of this month. They have several copies of my title floating around God knows where, all of the Personal Identifiable Information I had to give them are in the hands of ?????, and I had to pay about $60 total in FedEx shipping costs and notaries just to send them these expensive pieces of recycling apparently. My phone calls never get returned, and I am still completely in the dark after nearly 2 months of waiting for these guys to get their act together. I came across Tresl when looking into loan options for buying out our lease on a 2020 Nissan Altima. The process started smoothly, but it quickly became a nightmare. The payoff check from the bank Tresl set us up with showed up a day late, so we incurred over $400 in late fees from Nissan. When I reached out to our rep at Tresl, they simply told me there was nothing they could do. Tresl was also responsible for arranging the new title and registration so we could get our new plates. The process was supposed to take 4-6 weeks, and now almost two months later, we still don't have new plates. If you're considering them, I suggest looking anywhere else. read more

He then proceeded to harass me via text and said discriminatory comments, when I called their 866 number, another representative told me I was not in their system and couldn't locate who he was and refused to assist me in filing a complaint. A day later 12/24/2023, I received a notice that my application was denied without proper explanation as my credit is 793. I have reported them to the BBB, FTC and now I'm leaving them a bad review as they lack professionalism and violated FDCPA laws. read more

My experience with Tresl is frustrating in particular Title and Registration department. I have been waiting to receive the registration and sticker from a month now and have not received it yet. Today is Feb 28th, and our vehicle registration is expiring in March. We paid the registration within an hour after Tresl asked us for a payment back in January. When we 1st spoke with title, the person was very upbeat and promised she would provide tracking when the sticker is sent to us. After we didn't hear from her we asked for a status up date and she said "oh we ran out of reg stickers but it's going out today. I'll give you the tracking number later today". After a few days of no response, we called again and she said "oh sorry I sent it but forgot to send you the tracking but you will be for sure getting it this week" The week has passed and we still never received the sticker. Tracking says it's still at their facility since the 20th. We did an investigation with USPS to see if they had it, and they said no it's with Tresl still. When we call no one wants to actually tell us what's going on. Supervisor and manager are unavailable and will "get back to us". As of 2/28/23 our issue is unresolved. It seems once they get the money from you, they don't care at all. Our experience with finance wasn't great either. We definitely felt an attitude shift from them once we locked in our loan. Even with an excellent score, credit and employment history, etc... 2+ point difference will only get you a new hard inquiry to low your score for the very poor offers they have from lenders. So hopeful, but man was I wrong. Was referred through Credit Karma. The initial experience was great, but then I was GHOSTED. Applied 7/19, uploaded all docs when I had initially submitted the application knowing what they may need ahead of time, and anything additionally needed was done by 7/21. I called Tresl directly as they direct you to do to expedite the process, went over all the information with my advisor, who I guess is my unfortunate luck who picked up the phone and was told I would be called within 2 days on 7/19. I also, explained that my tags are due by the end of July and was informed by the advisor NOT to pay them as new registration is all wrapped into the finance by the advisor. He said no problem I will call you back it looks like we have a good offer with such and such company, and said "I want to try one more though and see if we can get a lower payment". NO calls. I sent two emails to my advisor, with no response back during this time. Immediately let him know the rest of the documents were loaded and then a "hey haven't heard from anyone, I'm ok with the first offer we can get this one going" email. No response to any of my emails. Even reiterated the importance of my tags expiring in one of the emails. Finally, when I called Tresl on 7/25 and calmly explained the situation to see if I may have another advisor assigned to my loan, I was sternly told no one else can help because then that takes away from other advisors' customers and it is too difficult for someone else to learn my loan. Basically at this time is my name. So, I was told that I needed to leave a voicemail for my advisor. Was further told that the CSR I was speaking with would send an email to both GM and advisor and I would be called back the same day. Not so much. On 7/28/2022 I am called by my advisor and told they do not know why I wasn't on their queue to call back (even though 2 emails were sent directly to them), given personal reasons to boot with an "apology". Then told I was declined (after insinuating I was approved 7/19). But he would try "one more thing". Knowing about the bad feeling from the way the company had handled this...I had already called a credit union the day before the phone call and had told them the issue that happened with Tresl, they were aghast themselves and had me apply, approved me at a much lower rate and monthly payment than even what Tresl had fake approved me for, and my re-finance is in the process of being finalized all within 24 hours. Not sure how hard that was for Tresl to accomplish. When I again "nicely" emailed and let my advisor know I wouldn't be going with them a credit union approved me in 24 hours at a lower payment, he responded very quickly this time and said, "That is Awesome !!!! I am very happy that you were able to get an approval that makes sense for you. In the end that's all that matters !! Have a great day and congrats. Through the text message that Tresl sent, I sent them a "stop". I thought all was good and the inquiry through Lending Tree which was passed on to Tresl would be closed. Well not so Tresl's employee must have taken my no response and Stop personally because today (weeks later) I received a denial notice which I feel is not right only because I didn't speak to anyone and asked for them to stop through their text msg. DO NOT click on Tresl website for car financing information. They will run a credit report whether you want them to or not. I did not give them permission to run my report and told them during the multiple communication attempts that I was no longer interested. Based upon information I could find (rates, reputation, etc.) I decided it was better to pay cash to refinance instead of using a finance company. I never personally spoke to anyone of their agents, and only completed information on their website. Once that was completed and before I decided not to finance, they ran my credit report without my approval. read more

The advertisement I Responded to was prompted tp me by Experian. I was looking for a balance Transfer card when this hit me, Save Money on you vehicle note! The agent, Terry Hommel was super to deal with. I was exact on the documents requested and he was awesome getting my interest cut in half. I know that not everyone will have the same results, but I did. I went from a 6.6% note for 96 months and remaining 80 months to my balance on a 3.35% loan and 63 months with the same payment. I wanted to save real money, not monthly money and I did. They knocked out 17 payments, all interest and pre-payoff my truck early. They made it easy and saved me a ton of money. I've emailed and called him nonstop with certain questions and I got a note in the mail from PenFed (some other load handling company) saying I need to start paying my car payments to them and I have no idea who they are. I went on MyTresl portal online and says the loan is not completed but PenFed is saying it is and I need to pay them. Again, I call and call and no answer to Aaron and I try to call the Tresl help line and corporate and I keep getting transferred to Aaron's direct voicemail or some other voicemail. This company is disorganized and over complicated. I have re financed my vehicles a handful of times in the past with other companies. Never have I had the issues that I have had with Tresl. The paperwork they ask you to fill out has a number of things that it tells you to do that is then contradicted somewhere else in paperwork. There are signature fields that are highlighted as "required" that are not actually required. Like the signature of the inspector at DMV... that is not required. Also, be sure you have full approval before wasting hours and hours of your time to complete the paperwork, things that you have to get notarized, changing your insurance to show them as the lender, and driving to drop of Fedex package for shipping. I asked very clearly if I was approved based on my wife's pay stubs, our tax returns, and my 1099. Grant from Tresl assured me that I was already approved and just had to complete paperwork for title transfer. Did everything that was required for the "title department", only to find out that they now wanted three months of my bank statements. They already had asked for and received multiple proofs of income. This company sucks on many levels and I will never use them after my initial experience. Big fail TRESL!! read more

Not a good company to work with. The messed up the paperwork numerous times so the process ended up taking weeks. The program was supposed to give me 90 days no payments upon the refinance but when the paperwork was done, the staff decided to not know what I was talking about. They never filed the title paperwork correctly so almost a year later I'm still redoing paperwork for the title and even though I corrected them, they put the mileage on my paperwork 30k miles over so now no one will take the truck on Trade because they think the odometer has been tampered with. read more

Insisted I have Texas tags which is NOT the case. Customer service agents.....well I went through four because the first one quit, mid-stream. You will go to the extra expense of securing another key fob, because AVIS doesn't keep fobs together and Chandra Clarke of Avis will mail it to you several weeks later?? Tresl will put the burden on YOU to cover your you know what. Questions go unanswered. Truly a frustrating experience. I wish I had gone through HERTZ again.
