My friend had her wedding catered by this group. Their food is amazing. They have bao buns for the appetizer and crab cake. However, the appetizer is not served in a buffet fashion and you have to look for waiters or waitress to hunt down the appetizers they carry around. I love their steak and main entree. It's well done and the steak is flavorful and tender. Salad is pretty good but I wish there is more dressing. They are very efficient of serving food and cleaning. The only down side is that since they are so efficient of cleaning, they took away my friend's plates with food when they went for photos. My husband and I got married in Carondelet House on April 2015. We fell in love with Carondelet House the moment we walked in and it was the very first venue we visited! When we were first introduced to Lara Bowman on one of their Open Houses we were very impressed with how courteous and professional she was. She helped us worked within our budget and was straightforward with our menu options. We were also stoked to find out she was a foodie! There were many modifications made leading up to our wedding and Lara was very responsive, punctual, and organized when it came to communicating with us and the changes that needed to be made. Another reason we fell in love with Carondelet was the fact we can customize our menu!! That was music to our ears to a foodie couple like us!! Our menu was an around-the-world theme. We picked fresh, colorful, tasty, and bold flavors and dishes that we love. We opted for buffet style since that gave us more food options and it fit within our budget. I was hesitant with this because I am not a big fan of buffet presented in huge metal containers--it just looked too casual for me. But Lara convinced me that Tres LA will have the table beautifully styled with food signage and dishes served in copper metal so it would give it a more shabby chic look which I loved so I was sold! The catering staff totally listened to our modifications during the food tasting and was pleasant to work with. I loved the fact that Tres LA is very progressive in their approach to food incorporating many techniques and varied flavors! I was so glad they didn't have the standard, run-of-the-mill wedding menu where your only options were Menu A, Menu B, and Menu C. Their food was so unique and tasty!! It's like one of those cool dishes you would see on cooking shows like Top Chef or Food Network. They give you a detailed questionnaire about food likes/dislikes, flavor profiles, and restaurants you like to frequent. From that the Tres LA staff work their magic and give you a very delectable menu catered to your taste buds. HOW AWESOME IS THAT!!!! Here's an example of our menu. My husband and I had Tres LA for our wedding this past weekend. They were the preferred vendor for our wedding venue so we did not have much of a choice. I was nervous about the food we would have at our wedding given we only had one option for caterers. My worries were completely erased when we had the tasting. The food we tasted was some of the best food I have every had in my life. I spent the 3 months in between our tasting and our wedding thinking about the food I was going to have. We enjoyed our tasting so much, my husband and I ordered an extra entrée for ourselves to have. The actual day of the wedding was perfect. The appetizers during our cocktail hour were just as good as I remembered when we had our tasting. In addition to serving amazing appetizers, they spent the time to make sure every plate looked elegant. Dinner was also as good as I remembered from the tasting. We had so many friends and family members comment on how amazing dinner was. The Servers provided by Tres LA were also top notch. They moved through our wedding smoothly and were attentive to all our guests needs. My husband and I had the pleasure of having Julia look after us. She didn't hesitate to bring us and our wedding party appetizers after our ceremony. We had our wedding two weeks ago at The Ebell in Long Beach, and Tres LA provided the food. We had gone to The Ebell's open house and to their Night Out Tasting to try the food. To be honest, we left on both of those nights with a few notes about everything we tried. Some things were great, other things needed a few small tweaks. We relayed all of our concerns to Jen, the event manager at The Ebell, and she passed all of our notes along to the kitchen staff. Come December 2nd, the food was on point and truly exceeded our expectations! Everything was cooked and seasoned just the way we wanted it. We even received a ton of positive feedback from our guests, so that was good! We went with two meat entrees (chicken and beef), along with two salads and three vegetarian sides (the truffle mac and cheese was dee-lish!). There was also an option to select vegan lasagna, which we took advantage of for our vegan guests. We provided our own dessert table. The servers they hire were also extremely friendly, helpful, and professional. They really brought a nice, formal vibe to the night and were always ready to grab something if you needed it. Tres LA is unlike any catering service you've ever experienced. My "newly" husband and I just celebrated our wedding day with the help of Tres LA as our caterer. Naturally, I did most of the communication and negotiation with an event manager to book my venue and then with Tres LA. I went through a couple of event managers throughout the year planning, from Crystal to Sara (who are no longer there but worth mentioning). Jen (Jennifer M.) has been with me on this journey for most of it. Anytime I had a question about the food item, the bartenders, to the time frame of things, and where things are usually set up, she had the answers! She is usually quick to respond. I seriously love her! I know they go through countless clients and couples every year, but for us, it truly meant so much to us that she was always calm, relaxed, responsive and flexible, even excited for us. Not the fake, "oh, I'm so excited." It all felt genuine. I wished we had the chance to meet the chefs that hosted our wedding. We had so many compliments on the hor d'ourves and then the dinner itself. It's definitely not your typical wedding food. It was so so delicious! Thank goodness!! We had 4 main goals in planning our wedding 1) open bar 2) good music 3) great food 4) unforgettable venue. These are the things people will remember. And I have to say, we pulled it off pretty darn well! The service was exceptional! The bartenders, servers, to the captains Sara and Hana who attended to us were all so professional and orchestrated our night seamlessly. We had continuous compliments on how amazing everything was during and now after the wedding. It honestly was the best wedding we've ever been to. I was searching for a venue and my (now)husband says I have the tendency to make up things that don't exist, well I found a venue that conjured my dreams! My wedding took place in May 11th. The entire experience was top notch from the second I visited for a tour to the very end. Venue photos do not do justice for how beautiful everything is. Any addition or decoration just enhances what is already gorgeous. I worked with Jen MacLean from the very beginning, she is absolutely fantastic to work with. Quick to respond, and patient. Our wedding was this past Sunday, 11.11.18 and we are still day dreaming of what the Tres La and the Ebell of Long Beach was able to do for us! What followed after the open house at the Ebell of LB, was detailed planning with her and Andrea the design coordinator in the last months before our wedding. TRES LA. TRES LA. TRES LA. Say it a few times out loud and let it just roll off your tongue. Doesn't the name just entice you. Well, it did for us (haha). I wrote this on the Ebell Long Beach page already and I'm going to sound like a parrot, but it's because Tres LA and The Ebell LB was just that good. So, here I go again... It was love at first sight. Corny, yes I know. But literally, It was love at first sight. My fiancé and I came to check out the Ebell Long beach on a whim. The moment we walked in and looked around, we looked at each other and just knew we had to make our promises to each other here. Sharen was literally the BEST and most enjoyable to work with as she was personable, knowledgable and very responsive (It's safe to say that she played a big part in our decision to say YES to the Ebell LB) Sharen, if you're reading this, we miss you girl~ We decided to cater with Tres LA (food & bar package) and to this day our guests are telling us about how much they loved the food and drinks! Others might consider the venue and catering package to be a bit on the "pricier" side (that is if you don't have a money tree in your backyard) but it was well worth it for us rather than going with independent vendors. We wanted specific things to be our priority and the venue, food and bar were some of them. During our tasting, we had some concerns about a few appetizers, which we were able to voice to the chef for accommodations. Writing this review means that our wedding is over and a part of me wishes it wasn't over yet. Perhaps that is why I've been delaying writing this too. Our wedding day was truly one of the best days of our lives and having it at the Ebell LB and working with all the staff definitely was a major contributing factor. We had our wedding at the Ebell Club in Long Beach this past October and I'm still dreaming about how beautiful everything was! The venue is absolutely stunning and the Tres LA team is incredibly helpful. If you're considering this venue for your wedding, GO FOR IT! Working with Tres LA made the planning process practically effortless. I worked with Sharen and Jen to coordinate the details of everything and both of them were fantastic. Whether answering my endless questions or constantly drawing up new proposals to accommodate our ever-increasing guest count, both of them were so kind and made sure that everything ran smoothly. And to top it all off Tres LA's food is AMAZING! Everything they served from cocktail hour to dessert was mind blowingly delicious. Props to the bartender (who all our guests loved) and the wait staff who were not only super professional and attentive but a genuinely cool group of people to interact with all night! Planning a wedding involves countless details, but make no mistake that the heart of the conversation often revolves around the food. I was fortunate enough to cross paths with the talented folks at Tres LA. From the our initial tasting to the dessert table at the wedding, the entire experience with Tres LA was a dream. We had the pleasure of working with Ellis as our coordinator. Ellis was professional, organized, creative, and most of all reliable. She was instrumental in helping us select the right menu from their expansive options. They truly do offer something for every palate, from creative spins on old classics to unique creations that will surely generate buzz among your friends and family. Ellis helped us select a great mix of new and old, classics and modern options. The tray passed appetizers service during cocktail hour was exceptional. We had a guest count of 250, and the tray service was constantly flowing. All of our guests were able to sample every appetizer, despite the large crowd size. Their servers were so friendly and courteous. Dinner service was family style. We had about 42 tables, a daunting task for getting out so many platters of food, but we noticed every table had their courses in a timely manner. The food was OUTSTANDING. I can never truly express my gratitude for Ellis and the amazing team at Tres LA. We had such a positive experience working with them and have received so many compliments from our guests about the food and the service. I wanted a wedding venue that was unique and already decorated for my reception. The Ebell Club of Long Beach is the perfect space for that! If you are looking for exposed brick, art on the walls, wood floors, eclectic furniture, mosaic tile work, and overall a warm inviting environment, then you would love the Ebell. I had my reception at the Ebell in early June and my now husband and I were happily overwhelmed with the entire experience. If you have a chance to attend the evening open house, please go! It happens during a week night and going in person is better than just seeing the pictures online. Jen Maclean was our appointed contact from the very beginning of the planning process and she was AMAZING!! Her customer service was exceptional and from the initial phone conversation to all the email exchanges, she was always available. Planning my wedding was overwhelming at times and her jovial attitude made for a memorable and positive experience. Jen is dependable and truly awesome to have worked with. The staff who worked my reception were awesome! Everyone was attentive and present which was great to see. The service was stellar and Jessica was so attentive to make sure my husband and I received food and drinks throughout the entire night. Andrea was our venue manager for the day of the reception and she was attentive and answered all of our questions during the site visit. I appreciated her organizational skills and was quick to adjust the air when it got warm during the reception among everything else she took care of to make sure the event ran smoothly. Tres LA, the food was excellent and my guests could not stop raving about the hors d'oeuvres and dinner. You have lots of options and Jen was accommodating when we wanted to sub items for other options. It doesn't hurt to ask. We got to pick our own desserts which was great, but the downside was that we didn't get to do a tasting beforehand. Hopefully, at future tastings, desserts can be included so guests can have an idea of what is available. =) I appreciate the professionalism that was exhibited throughout the entire planning process and on the day of the event. Our venue (Ebell, Long Beach) was incredible. Part of that, was the fact that they have a deal with Tres LA, so we didn't have to look for or think about food. The menu is gigantic, and very flexible, and when they said we couldn't go wrong with any of our decisions... they were totally right. We did a tasting before our wedding, and gained a great amount of trust and respect for everything they made -- but ended up choosing a lot of dishes we didn't try. And everything was as great (and probably even better than expected). It is on the pricey side. But it's a once in a lifetime celebration, so treat yourself! As the groom, I did not get a chance to eat a lot the night of the wedding, but what I did manage to eat was incredible. And we got tons of compliments on the food (and the venue, and the music, and our wedding in general), but probably the most about the food:) The whole process dealing with Tres LA was very easy, and they were very attentive, responsive and accommodating. If I could give Tres LA 100 stars I truly would. They made our whole wedding a dream, and I can never thank them enough. We had to reschedule our wedding for the 2nd time due to covid 2 days before and I was truly a wreck. Then, Rob from Tres LA helped us replan the entire wedding to make sure it was everything we wished for, and it truly was more than we ever could've dreamt of. And wow do they know how to plan a beautiful, unforgettable, gorgeous event!! So, I might have to get married all over again simply because I need to experience Tres LA's culinary genius at LEAST one more time. Let's back it up a bit. When my husband and I first booked Ebell Long beach, we were kind of bummed that there would be a surcharge to book with other catering companies outside of in-house team Tres LA (we originally had "grand" visions of street food, food trucks, etc.). How naive we were! Once I began researching Tres LA, I realized how many couples sang the praises of not only the company's food, but also its professionalism, promptness, etc. -- definitely a great sign. Then, my experience interacting with my Ebell/Tres LA contact, Jen MacLean, took everything to the level. Jen answered every single one of our questions -- of which there were many -- quickly and with an upbeat attitude. She's not only a sweetheart; she's also really, really good at her job. Andrea Yaruchyk, who we met during the site design meeting, similarly could not be stumped. She knew exactly how to answer every single one of our questions, too. Kudos to Tres LA for hiring such savvy, smart and hardworking people. At our wedding tasting, we ate the fried chicken of our dreams (we decided to sub in a honey Sriracha sauce -- highly recommended). Almost all of the other items we wanted for our menu (including atypical wedding dishes such as bok choy, Chinese salad, miso-glazed salmon and more) weren't available for tasting that night. But we trusted the Tres LA team, and lo and behold, they delivered. Our guests raved to us that our wedding food was some of the best they've ever tasted. TL;DR: Hire Tres LA. You won't regret it. I had the most amazing experience working alongside Jen and the staff of the Ebell in Long Beach. First of all, this is the only venue I looked at while researching different wedding venues. It caught my eye from social media and I fell in love when I saw it in person. The tiles, brick, wood, art... just everything about this place is beyond beautiful. We knew this would be the place for our big day and booked it soon after going to an open house. We were connected with Jen to book the venue and she was awesome to work with - start to finish! Working with the incredible team at TresLA was an actual dream come true. My husband and I knew we wanted the food and drinks to be a focal point at our wedding and this team delivered above and beyond what we even expected. wow my daughter's wedding could not have been more perfect! She was married 2/2//2019 and truly it was magical and a large part of that was due to the venue of the Carondelet House and the catering from Tres LA. It was intimate and beautiful and the entire evening went off without a hitch despite rainy weather! The food from Tres LA was excellent and the service amazing. They were so great accommodating a vegetarian and vegan wedding and came up with delicious food that everyone enjoyed-even the non vegetarians :). The convenience of having it all in one place and the decor being built in made everything so easy-just a few rentals, linens, flowers and a cake and we were set. Hilary and Jeff were amazing to work with and so helpful with all of our last minute questions. Every one of our guests was blown away by this venue! My husband and I got married at Cielo Farms on October 1, 2021, where Tres LA is the dedicated catering group. We recognized the name when we saw the vendor list and were excited because our friends had worked with Tres LA at Ebell Long Beach a couple years prior and we knew the food was good! Planning a wedding during covid presented its challenges, and Tres LA worked with us to ensure we had an exceptional catering experience from beginning to end. Rob locked us in for our wedding day at Cielo Farms after our original wedding venue canceled on us, and made sure we were well taken care of. Kelsie and Elise worked with us on the day of plans and executed our day beautifully. Our guests enjoyed everything from the passed hors d'oeuvres to the main entrees. The menu selections are diverse and high quality with fresh ingredients. During the wedding day, the staff made sure that my husband and I ate and could enjoy everything that was available for our guests.
