    carnitas burro
    Lauren W.

Went here for a burro before hiking on a Saturday afternoon. You walk in an order at the counter, they hand you a number, and they will bring it out to your table. Service was very quick and helpful. I ordered the carnitas burro which had rice, refried beans, onion, cilantro, and carnitas inside. It came with a spicy salsa and verde with pico and cabbage on the side. Everything was fresh. Chips are super crunchy. Great casual spot to eat.

I came here for lunch two days in a row. Everything I've tried so far was good. I had asada burrito and pastor quesadilla. The portion was decent and the flavor was good. My friends liked their mole and tacos. I had Jamaica and it hit the spot right after the hike. I loved their chips too. The place could be busy but it's expected. Their price is reasonable as compared to other restaurants. They also have on site parking. Overall, it's a great place to grab a bite.

I came in with high expectations due to good Yelp reviews and this place lived up to them! I had a fish taco and a shrimp taco. Both were tender and tasty. My son had the birria tacos which were very good. The watermelon agua Fresca was sweet and refreshing. Prices were very reasonable compared to others in the area, especially for the quality and portion of food. Service was friendly. Plenty of seating. Pleasantly surprised in a good way.

I have been in Sedona for 3 days. Two of those days I've been here! I've traveled to Sedona many times but the last time was about 8 years ago. I was driving to the grocery store and saw Tres Amigos and decided to stop in. I got the chili Colorado burrito. It was outstanding! One of the best burritos I've ever had. The next day I thought why not stop in again. I got the Birria Tacos and they too were outstanding! These were the best Birria tacos I've ever had. Filled with beef, cheese... Amazing! The people were kind and friendly. I fear I'll gain 10lbs but that's okay, it's worth it. The hardest part is deciding what I want next. If you are in Sedona and craving incredible Mexican food, ya gotta try Tres Amigos!

Mind blowing Mexican food surrounded by equally mind blowing scenery! We stopped in Sedona for food after a long day of exploring the Grand Canyon and Tres Amigos had a lot of positive reviews and boy were all of those reviews deserved! Not only were we able to order immediately, despite it being a holiday weekend, we were served at our table, and the owner stopped by several times to chat with us and ask us about the food. It was charming and we were able to praise him for the amazing dishes we'd ordered! My sister got birrias tacos and I got a shrimp burrito. When I tell you I have never had shrimp that good I am not kidding. It was fire roasted first with spices, then put in a burrito full of flavour. We all got bites of the birria tacos and they were BURSTING with juicy meat and fried to perfection. I can't even remember what my other sister ordered because I was just so laser focused on my delicious shrimp burrito. Do NOT miss this place if you're in Sedona! Local or tourist you will walk away fed and happy!

Margarita size compared to classic drink size

This place is awesome. Can they open one in my home town? Worth it! Margaritas were larger than expected and complimentary chips and salsa were pristine. Service top-notch. And my favorite vibe at a restaurant.

The food was absolutely amazing and the service was great and quick. You go up and order at the desk and they bring it to your table. They serve chips and salsa for free as well. I had the Brea taco tacos and they were so good the meat was so tender and tasted amazing. My husband got the big trio and it is a very big portion for only $15.

Carnitas burrito and quesobirria tacos. Excellent!

Dropped by here while we were in town and I believe we've found our favorite Mexican restaurant in Sedona! Nothing fancy, but their food is delicious! Generous portions and authentic flavor without being too salty. Their chips and salsa were good too. Friendly helpful staff, restaurant was clean. We highly recommend that you give them a try.

Tres Amigos serves up excellent Mexican food with great service. It looks like just a fast food restaurant as you order at the counter but they bring food to the table, water and home made tortilla chips. All the workers were very friendly and quick service. Very reasonable prices for Sedona.

    Sarah M.

The staff are fantastic! Attentive and helpful. The food is average though. The chips were made from flour tortillas which is odd. The mole has more flavor than any other food we tried. The fajitas were meh. Just being super honest. We don't realize how hard it was to find a place to eat and didn't have reservations anywhere which left us with virtually no choices. Again, the staff are great but the food is lacking flavor.

Tres Amigos was BOMB! It's cute Mexicana Cocina vibes. They had a cute artsy market outside today! The service was amazing friendly, fast and fun! The CHILAQUILES were THE BEST I've EVER HAD! The quesabirria was fresh with the PERFECT CONSUME! Stop in grab a bite you won't regret it !

Their chips and salsa are okay, super Americanized style salsa but tasty enough. Randomly their Caesar salad isn't too bad either! I wasn't craving any Mexican dishes one day and went with the salad and was pleasantly surprised. I do NOT recommend birria tacos; highly disappointing and lacked flavor and the authentic textures of quesabirria tacos. Boring. Good vibes inside. Lots of colors, fun upbeat music, and most importantly happy and helpful service every single time. We've even see actual Javalinas out the window while dining once. There's a couple outdoor tables too for when the weather is nice and suns not hitting. Parking can get crowded during tourist season because it's in a shopping center w multiple businesses, but any spot to park is not too far to walk. Note there is a one way exit.

I would definitely recommend making reservations because it can be quite a wait otherwise, especially during peak times. That said, they seem well equipped to handle both small and large parties, which is nice if you're traveling with a group. They really do Tex-Mex right here. At a lot of places you can tell when things are canned or pre-made, but that was not the case here. Everything tasted fresh, from the guacamole to the sauces, and the flavors were bold without being overwhelming. I especially liked the fajitas, and the portions are generous, so you definitely get your money's worth. I'm not a big drinker, but the margaritas and other drinks seemed very popular and I saw a lot of people enjoying them. The overall vibe is lively and fun, with a great energy that fits Sedona well. If you can sit on the patio, the red rock views are an added bonus and really elevate the experience. The wait staff was incredibly attentive. They even kept us updated on when our food would be coming out, which I appreciated. They really went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and that everything came out promptly. I also liked the little details, like the javelina imagery throughout the restaurant, which gives it some personality and ties into the local feel. They bring out complimentary chips and salsa, and they're constantly refilling them, which is always a plus. A couple small things to note that others mention as well: it can get pretty loud when it's busy, and parking in the area can be a bit tight, so plan accordingly. Overall, it's a great place with a fun atmosphere, solid food, and consistently good service. I know the next time we are back in Sedona, we will definitely be coming here again.

(Please look at my photo of the sad leftovers). We had written down all of the suggestions of things to do in Sedona and Elote Cafe was at the top of our list of things to do. Apparently getting a reservation at this place is super difficult to get, so we decided to order takeout. Elote dip, pork cheeks, green tamale, carne asada, pork belly tacos and corn cake for dessert. The elote dip was enjoyable especially when eaten with chips, the green tamale was better off used as a trampoline at a kids party (it was spongy, flavorless and possibly good to scrub your dishes), the carne asada was dead like the cow it came from and flavorless, the pork belly tacos were barely edible because of the overwhelming sour taste of lemon, and last but least was the corn cake, it was dry and about as exciting as a retirement home party. We wasted our money thinking that a place with a waiting list to get on would be an experience just like everything else we experienced in Sedona but instead Elote Cafe is a bad tourist trap that has as much charm and taste as Del Taco. Save your money and look elsewhere for some great Mexican inspired food even if it means you need to travel to Tucson.

The restaurant itself has a lot of character, it full of textures and colors, had a cute little fountain outside. It just feels homey and welcoming. The menu...is hella pricey for a tamale. I mean even with inflation these days I could get a tamale at most spots where I live for like half the price. I just told myself it's Sedona just except it lol so I went wild and got their extra special tamale with lots of topping to make it a more complete meal. I chose the chicken mole for my filling. I also got their dairy free horchata. First thing the horchata was delicious! Creamy, great texture, not to sweet, seasoned just right. Extra points for being dairy free as milk is not my bodies friend. The tamale however was a major let down. I was so close to just sending it back, but was on a time crunch and starving. The masa was so salty. The mole sauce was barely existent and had no complexity or flavor really. I didn't taste the chocolate or the Chile . Just blah. The toppings and horchata helped make it possible to consume despite the saltiness. So overpriced salty tamale gets 2 stars, ambiance 5, and horchata 5, which is why this place gets a three stars overall. I wanted to love this spot so bad, and maybe it was a bad day, or the wrong thing to get...but their name is literally tamaliza. Their tamale should have rocked my world.
