Most importantly, seven years ago Laura told my wife that her hair did not look right and she may have a female problem. Reenie went to the doctor and had breast cancer. I feel Laura saved her life. Laura said that her stylists are trained to be aware of changes in a person's hair and scalp and advise the client accordingly. Thank you! The salon is friendly and all the stylists are professional and personable. We went there for prom updos and the wedding party for our daughter. It's just a great place. She takes pride in her clients, word of mouth, her products she recommends, and her work. She has always been super friendly, passionate about her work, and a great conversationalist. I live in Virginia now, but whenever I come home I will only go to her salon to get my hair worked on whether it is cut, style, or color. I don't mind driving 7 hours just to get my hair done exactly the way I want it and her prices are amazing. Being in Virginia, the prices for a trim go well over $80+ and for a color depending on length (mine was a little past my shoulders) it would cost around $150+. So to me, it is very reasonable on their prices for the area, the work of perfection, and beyond! I can't say enough good things about this salon. Also, I came home this Memorial Day weekend (5/28/2016)and she was out of the office, but I had the pleasure of having my hair done by Kim. She did a fantastic job as well and I couldn't be happier with my results. Thank you so much ladies you are the best. --Katie

I walked in about four months ago because I was not especially happy with the salon I had been going to in Fairport for the past year. Joyce was lovely, warm, welcoming, and she "got" my hair which is thin and fine and fragile. I looked and felt like movie star Sharon Stone when I left. It was a beautiful blond color that brought out my natural highlights; I wanted a "just got out of bed" tousled, natural look and she gave it to me. Call Joyce if you want to look like a star, because for all we are doing right now for our family and friends and community, we women are stars!

I originally was going to get highlights and after talking about it with her she suggested ombre and I was so hooked on the idea! When she was done... It looked really uneven... but I don't like to complain or anything and she seemed so happy, so I figured it might look better when I can play with my hair and stuff... I got home and took pictures and it was WORSE than I thought! From the back the blonde was diagonal, on the left the blonde started at my ear and on the right it was below my shoulders. It was SO terrible I wanted to cry. Sunday last minute I got an opening with Erica and thank GOD she was available. She made sure to talk to me about everything she was thinking of doing and the final product was AMAZING! I'm SO happy with my hair and I get so many compliments. But as someone who knows how hard it is to find the perfect salon, I knew it was important to let the community know about a little salon in Fairport. I have had the worst luck with salons in the past. I've never stayed in one place for longer than five years as an adult. The closest I got to that was the salon I went to in middle school and high school, where my mom and sister went as well. But that ended ten days before my high school graduation, where my request to have my hair "just dusting my shoulders" resulted in a chin length blunt bob that poofed out when dry, making me look like a mushroom wearing a graduation cap. As I was stylistically challenged (and still am, to a good extent), you can imagine how well this worked out for me. I bounced around from one fancy salon to the next in college, coming home on breaks for haircuts and not having any idea how to maintain my new look. I started going to Cuts International a solid two years before I moved back to Rochester, and I'm proud to say that it's my longest salon relationship ever. Ever since I started seeing Amelia for my hair needs, I have walked away happy and confident that I can replicate what was done to me during the styling process. Amelia is very intuitive and knows what will work for me and what won't. Last year I decided I wanted highlights to camouflage the increasing number of gray hairs and she helped me pick out a color that would look good against my dark hair and would mask the grays as best we could. Instead of the traditional foil method, she used a plastic hat to pull small strands through to ensure a natural look. While this was going on, I looked just like Gollum, if Gollum were waiting to rinse out his new highlights. Everyone at the salon is friendly and enthusiastic about their clients and what they can do. Whenever I have an appointment, it's like walking into a family reunion or happy hour at Cheers. I've never once felt like a transaction here, and I have definitely felt that way at other salons. Cuts International is not only a family salon, but one that really takes the idea of family to heart. Finally, where else can you get a fancy salon quality cut and style for $26? I used to pay twice as much for other salons in the past and I'm never going to go back. You can try to entice me with fancy furniture and decor and the privilege of saying I go to your salon, but it won't work. I'm sticking with Cuts International, where I know I can maintain my new look with my meager styling skills.
