I was trying to place an order on their site for cosmetics but within minutes of receiving my email…read moreconfirmation, I receive another stating that my order was cancelled. Realizing there is a store not too far, I call to make sure what I wanted was in stock (it was, and set on hold). Upon walking in, I realize I have been here years ago, and a wonderful employee named Katya had helped me that day. I wasn't surprised to see that she no longer was here, but there were three males at the center counter offering assistance. When I told them what I was in for, one went to get the person I spoke to over the phone. I didn't want to purchase anything else so I was rung up out of sight and the item was bagged and brought out. Since I was supposed to receive samples with my now cancelled online order, I inquired about getting one of them here and another associate presented it to me. This was a much more generous size than what I was supposed to get originally, but I'm not complaining. Service by Ashley was on the cooler side but not rude; I'm just pleased since I got what I wanted. A bag caught me eye while I was on the way out, which was life telling me to leave before I found something else to admire...

I ended up looking around for a replacement and I found this brand. I have to say it's not a cheap jacket; but it's ready to wear the day you buy it. My straight to Hell jacket squeaked for months or longer this one never squeaked. I needed to get a light jacket because I wanna do some patchwork on the one I have (a Perfecto); and I found a really cool canvas reversible that I'm very happy with that was not that expensive. So there's options here for every price point, but if you can afford leather leather, lamb skin or some other animal skin that's really what it's about. ‍

I wanted to purchase a Schott 530 café racer at the Los Angeles store. I had the jacket on, and was…read moreat the counter with my credit card ready. The jacket itself is excellent. The issue was the sleeve alteration. I asked whether Schott could shorten the sleeves at the cuff, for which I understood there was an $85 charge. The store told me it would not arrange the alteration at the time of purchase. Instead, I was told to take the jacket home, wear it around Los Angeles for about a month in 90 degree heat so it would develop creasing, and then bring it back to be measured. I later contacted Schott customer service in New York and was told that this was not company policy. The Los Angeles store subsequently invited me back for a fitting before I took the jacket home, which I appreciated. However, I had also sent the store manager important emails seeking clear guidance, and those emails were not returned. I understand that leather jackets can settle and crease with wear, and I would have been perfectly open to a careful fitting discussion. What I wanted was consistent information and responsive communication before spending roughly $1,100 on a jacket. Instead, I received conflicting answers and could not get my questions resolved by the manager.

DO NOT BUY CUSTOM LEATHER JACKETS HERE…read more These guys have no idea what they are doing when it comes to measurements and tailoring and have terrible customer service to top it off. I wasted $1,600 on a leather jacket that's 10" too big for me and they won't exchange it or give me my money back. I stopped into the store one day, and a woman named Mary extolled the many benefits of a custom tailored leather jacket, mainly the specifics of how well it would fit. I bought one, and she took my measurements for it at the store. Nearly six months later it arrived and was WAY too big (see photo #1). We arranged for a return and she asked me for my correct waist size. I told her (and this is in writing via email exchange "I wear a size 32" jeans") and she assured me that would be enough for the correct jacket to be sent. Another nearly six months go by, and the new jacket arrives. And low and behold, it is again way off in the waist. I measured the waist (see photo 2) and it corresponds to a size 44" jeans. And now the store is accusing me of having worn the jacket and refusing to process my return, sent the jacket back to me, and refuses to answer my calls or emails. I spent a year dealing with these clowns. They are negligent and have no clue what they are doing. They got the measurements wrong not once, but twice in row! And now because they don't want to have to pay for the jacket (presumably the manufacturer is not to blame so they would be stuck with the bill) they are looking for loopholes in their return policy to stick me with the bill despite the fact that this is clearly their fault. DO NOT BUY THINGS FROM THIS STORE - THEY HAVE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND HAVE NO CLUE WHAT THEY ARE DOING

Yup, they make both men's and women's jeans for several brands that you probably wear now. I asked the owner "what do you have in white"? He said "we carry only one floor sample here, either a 32-34 for guys or a 2-4 for women". He had a great sample of a stone washed white denim that was off-the-chain hottt!!! Unfortunately that sample was skinny jeans. (urgh) I can't go there unless I've gotta band, play electric guitar and a million dollar contract. Well I tried. He said he'll do a sample sale soon. *** Hopefully he will make a white straight leg? ***

A white t-shirt happened to fall into the load, and when I pulled it from the dryer I was stunned to see--holding it up against another identical white t-shirt--that it had become a dingy shade of pink. While lights and darks don't get washed together as a rule, this now made me wonder how much the coloring of the JE sweatshirt had bled into other dark garments I had washed with it in the past and subtley changed their color, too. I think I'll give JE products a miss altogether in the future.
