We had online ordered before from Tremblay's and the fudge was creamy and fresh tasting. This time it was hard and tasted old. I emailed them for their thoughts on the product they shipped me which was well below standards and I received no response. VERY POOR BUSINESS. Buyer beware. 3 pounds of fudge with shipping was $58.00. I expected at least an I'm sorry or an explanation of why their product was received in this condition. Be very careful spending your money here. I only wrote this to hope someone thinking of buying here may read this and change their mind. Then the review did it's job. Best fudge ever! We always make a stop at Tremblay's when we are up north. The kids love to watch them making the fudge in the front of the store. Try the maple, its so good. I always get the maple and the chocolate. Can't go wrong. Pro tip: go early morning to avoid the crowds. read more

If you want to over spend for stale cashew or pecan turtles, head to Tremblay's. $70 later, we brought home just a few pounds of each and other miscellaneous treats. There's barely any caramel or chocolate and no salt on the pecans -- none. The way these look might be their style, but no one expects soft, possibly refrigerated nuts. Just terrible. read more

The reason for the 5 stars is that this place has the best fudge and other assorted chocolates. Giant selection of saltwater taffy. Their brittle comes in 2 different varieties-peanut and my personal favorite, cashew. At times you can watch them make the fudge or the brittle. That's a treat in itself! My sister purchased a pound of their cashew brittle for my birthday- SO INCREDIBLY AMAZING!!! I ate probably 1/2 the bag and saved the rest for when I had a sweet tooth. Well that time was about 2 months later (actually I forgot all about that bag of yumminess!), but when I tasted it this time, something was off. This place is AWESOME. I drove up to Eagle River from Florida to visit and the first place we stopped once arriving in Eagle River was Tremblay's. It NEVER fails! The customer service was great when we were there. They have great product knowledge and know what is in everything! They are quick and friendly and the smell when you walk in is something you'll never forget! There seems to be fresh candy, fudge, and briddle being made every time we go! We've been going to Eagle River since I was 5 (um, I think LBJ was president!) and no trip to town would be complete without getting fudge. There are 2 fudge shops literally right across the street from each other and until I was an adult, I though they were the same. They are NOT. Tremblay's is THE choice of true fudge aficionados. It has virtually every flavor and variety you can imagine and depending on your tastes, you will love everything you try. One important note -- they do NOT take plastic (credit/debit cards) of any sort. Cash or check only. Doesn't matter whether you are from out of state -- they'll still take it. My sister will regularly mail order fudge to us lucky family members who don't get up there as often as we would like. She calls from Chicago, tells them what she wants, they ship it out and send her a bill at the end of the month --- long after the fudge has been enjoyed. I'm not sure how they manage to stay in business that way but going in here in 2015 feels the exact same as it did back in 1975. My only complaint about Tremblay's is that they have spoiled me for any other fudge. Recently I was in NC version of Eagle River (if such a thing exists -- small tourist town with lots of natural beauty) and we went into what would have been the "Tremblay's" of Blowing Rock. It looked alike in many regards -- the fudge looked wonderful... but my son and I just had to take the small sample they offered and both of us were very disappointed... If its fudge and it isn't from Tremblay's (and this is very hard for me to write), I'm simply not interested. read more

This is one of the cleanest candy stores I have ever seen. All of the girls making candy had their hair in a pony tail & pinned up...& had plastic gloves on! Very sanitary! That is the first thing I look at when entering a candy store. I have walked out of plenty of them in disgust! All the girls are friendly & seem to really enjoy their jobs! Smelled incredible the moment we walked in and we nearly drooled on the observation windows while watching a woman make turtles. They had a number of fudge samples available and they girls behind the counter didn't bat an eye when we tried almost all of them. The fudge is amazing! Not to mention their salted caramel!! Yum!! This is also a great store for gift ideas! Every time we are in the area we ALWAYS stop by. However, I visited this store yesterday at 1:30 on 11/10/13 and the lady working behind the counter was so RUDE AND UNWELCOMING!! Even after many attempts of trying to make her smile she had the worst attitude!! She never cracked a smile. Love this store. Found it by accident while on vacation. Delicious home made candy. We travel all the way from Wausau for the candy, and its worth the price, but the two times we where there this year, the staff was very cold, very un-friendly, no Hello or greeting at all, looked like they hated being there, no interaction when I made my purchase, and no after the sale thank you, no come again, no nothing, for the price of there candy, the staff could be a lot nicer to there paying customers !! read more

Let me start by saying this place has GREAT treats. They are delicious, handmade, and quality. I am giving a bad review because these people know NOTHING about allergens. NOTHING. If you have food allergies, DO NOT eat ANYTHING made here!!!! My mom has Celiac disease and we were given an ingredient list that looked gluten free! They said that if there was no gluten in the ingredients, we were good to go! We enjoyed some treats together, the next time I went back, I asked if a specific item we hadn't tried was gluten free. The lady looked at me like I was a complete idiot and informed me that NOTHING here is gluten free. NOTHING. Even though the ingredient list didn't list anything that had gluten in it!!! My mom has Celiac disease, which means that the tiniest amount of gluten erases the YEARS of healing her intestines have undergone by not being exposed to gluten. This exposure can take YEARS OFF OF HER LIFE. I nearly cried on the spot when she informed me, and I literally ran out of the store. I am horrified that their employees are so uninformed about allergens that can TAKE PEOPLE'S LIVES. I am terrified to think what could happen to a child with a nut allergy! read more
