We made a stop here for some wine and to enjoy the beauty on Sunday, and it was an amazing time. We…read morewere seated right away and our server was Jenna. We tried a few different flights of wine and flat breads and enjoyed the beautiful view of the vineyard. The place is truly breathtaking, and at the time, they had live music playing outside. Jenna made some very good recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed. ::Caution:: I still gave this place 5 stars because this has nothing to do with the service or the quality of the food or location, but we were picturing a nice, calm brunch, sipping on wine, not a Chuck E Cheese experience. Apparently, we were upgraded to the deluxe Chuck E Cheese package and were seated around lots of parents who decided to bring their young kids to a vineyard. The kids were running wild around tables and crying and screaming. Not one parent corrected their kids' behavior and just let them run around like free-range chickens. There were also people complaining that there were no non alcoholic drinks that they wanted at a vineyard. When I went inside there seemed to be no kids indoors. While another group could not control their kids and kept knocking things off the table, including glasses of wine. No one seemed to mind outdoors because most of the people had young kids, so be warned that this may be a possibility, so research your days before you go. Overall, if you remove the kids running wild and crying, the service was fantastic, the wine was good, lots of parking, the ambiance was incredible, and the food was good.

The atmosphere was cozy and charming, and it was the perfect spot to unwind with a great glass of wine. We're already looking forward to coming back during the winter months (as long as they're open!) because this place just has that special vibe that makes you want to return again and again.

They provided a sandwich buffet where there were lots of fresh sandwich toppings and a variety of breads. A huge highlight was the chicken wild rice soup. Staff were excellent. They had several servers providing drinks and cleaning dishes. So helpful and kind. The room worked well for the presentation, no issues with tech and the room was small enough that no mic was needed. The only thing that was a little annoying was, with the restaurant next door and only folding doors separating us, we could hear some residual noise but not enough to cause issue with the presenter. I liked the vibe here and would like to stay a night and check it out in the future.

I absolutely adore The Lowell Inn. This has become my favorite place to stay when in Stillwater…read more This historic hotel is beautiful and has so many details that can not be missed. The hallways are reminiscent of the past and remind me often of the Titanic and the dining rooms have an old elegant charm. There are fresh baked cookies upon check in and there are brochures for all the activities for you to do in Stillwater. The rooms are always comfortable and clean and some have even had famous guests in the past. The Lowell Inn serves breakfast and lunch everyday and the food was phenomenal. We were offered an assortment of fresh bread. For lunch we ordered the Almond Crusted Walleye with sour cream mashed potatoes and asparagus with a lemon cream sauce. Which I will definitely be getting again! Our other order was Chicken A La King and had fresh ingredients and great flavor.

The owner is an artist herself and her oil paintings adorn the walls throughout. She was a wonderful host, allowing us access to three floors. The renovation has been a labor of love as the place that once housed the elderly in a hospital setting has been transformed into a cozy getaway. Surrounded in woods with the nearby lake peeking through the trees, the grounds offer a luxurious tranquility. I could have sat by the large main floor fireplace all day. Thanks for hosting our group.

Our friends had to sleep with their winter jackets on. Beds are one of the most uncomfortable ones I have ever slept in. Three of us are vegetarian and basically the option for us was to get rice and the meat had been taken out from the dish. Not something you want to pay so much for. For our vegan friend there were no options at all. The place is dated, dirty and what you can feel everywhere is the astonishing and completely ungrounded sense of entitlement and pride that the owners project in the descriptions and policy signs they placed all over the establishment. It all happened a few years ago yet our friends and us can't stop going back in disbelief to that awful experience.

It's just a shame this was to follow: We arrive- all is good, all of a sudden a cop shows up and stays. We were all questioning why a cop was there, sure enough they have to have a cop onsite? YIKES. While a couple friends and I were out on the lawn area hanging out by the bag boards our friends kids and other kids were just being kids running around having fun, the cop had the audacity to yell at the kids (7 years old and younger) and tell them if they aren't going to act like adults they should be inside the barn, she continued to tell them she said go in the barn and she means it, they eventually stopped playing and listened to her but I was APPALLED ! Who in the world is that woman bossing around other peoples kids at a wedding they they PAID FOR!!! Later in the evening The bride and groom ordered pizza and the cop had the audacity to eat bought food for the wedding guests! I can't even begin to tell you how horrible of an experience this was having a cop on site. I would never in a million years recommend this place. I don't care how "pretty" it is. You can find better and that's coming from someone who just got married and had the opposite venue experience. People pay a lot of money to get married and you're telling me a cop was apart of the deal bossing people around, mean mugging people, and just being a miserable human being. BIG NO, don't do it.

Owner makes all the wedding party after ceremony remove items from the suits during wedding. VERY INCONVENIENT. She also stood by and timed us with a watch as we got all our items out of the suits. Like we were criminals. Owner did not allow music to play in reception due to noises being to loud for neighbors. Had to close barn doors later to get music on. What's the point of having a reception with no music??? Owner watched us like hawks and gave our DJ a very hard time. Owner was so rude and yelled at many of the ppl in the wedding including my husband. I will NEVER suggest this place!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. It's a pretty venue but not worth the crap she makes everyone deal with. This bride also was employed by her and she still treated her this way! JUST SHOWS CHARACTER. DJ also mentioned he would never suggest this place to any one. Worst experience he has had ever as a DJ. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY, over priced and she's very deceitful.
