Took advantage of the winter service special for a level 2 tune. Tech took the time to inspect every component on intake.Recommended a new casette and chain and a rear brake cable. Showed me specifics of why these were needed in a way that gave me a level of trust. I logged over 1000 miles last year so no doubt I wore the crap oit of so,e components. First time visiting this store and was greeted when we walked in. The one and only sales rep was w another family. While she was wrapping her sales w that family, I did look around and found something. After the family left there was zero acknowledgement. I did wait in case someone would say "any questions" or perhaps "I'll be right w you." That was not even on the script. I wasn't just browsing and was highly interested. They are the best in every way. Proof? I live in Queens. There's a Trek less than 2 miles away. A Specialized 3 miles away. An independent bike shop 2.5 miles away. Trek Plainview is 21 miles away. I choose to go to Plainview. The others I've got nothing bad to say about. It's just that these guys are that good. They will treat you the way you'd hope to be treated. read more

Trek bicycle of Plainview a fairly new opened store in the shopping center near CVS and Banana Republic. There is a sign out side noting they fix any kind of bicycle. I went in to check the store out. Trek bikes all in a row of different shapes and sizes with wider tires, and children's bikes as well. Marcus, John, Tom and Carri all seemed nice. Tom is really into Bicycles and seems to know allot. I asked about a tune up for a stationary bike. I was told, if I can bring it there they can examine it to see if they can do it. I was given their business card from John and suggested to take a picture of it and send it to them for review. They have many accessories including clothing of sorts in colorful average or small sizes from what I saw. I questioned some sneakers I had seen they go by metric sizes and I did get my foot measured, they are listed as 170.00 and have a unique placement on the bottom to fit and lock into the bicycle petals. Seems you turn your foot one way to lock and turn another to unlock. Most interesting the newer things that have changed from the "old days". That said the bicycles are unisex and some bars are a bit lower than others. Something I always thought was helpful particularly on the men's versions. Not having purchased a bicycle there or accessories for it, I am not the one to note prices and values in comparisons. With this Pandemic, Bicycles seems a real come back to get the family out with some healthy exercise and maybe fresh air and sunshine as the milder weather is coming about. read more

Anytime I need help with my bike or feel like spending all my money to fuel my addiction, this place is always willing to help! The employees are really friendly and seem genuinely happy to assist me. The manager, John, has helped me pick out two different bikes that I'm obsessed with. He was patient, understood what I was looking for and just wanted me to be happy. Sammy is always great with the technical aspects and knows how to put a killer kit together! Tom is always friendly and welcoming to everyone. The bikes are phenomenal and worth every penny. I've gone on a few of their group rides and had fun hanging out with everyone while getting miles in. Hands down best experience here. Came into the store and Jackson helped us. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about bike riding. He answered all my questions and was not pushy. Wasn't even mad that spending time with me that I didn't even purchase a bike. Some people usually get all huffy but he did not. I thought about the bike some more and I returned to purchase it. The bike I got is the FX 2 Disc Stagger Viper Red. It had to be ordered since they did not have any in stock in the store. They have this promotion going on that if you test ride any of their electric bikes you get a scratch off which, everyone is a winner. I received $20 off. This goes up until August. When my bike came in Tom assembled it and I was called to pick it up. When Tom put together a pamphlet of biking trails and service tune up. Went over everything and said any questions to contact him. I tested it in the store and Jackson once again answered all my questions and went over all the gear shifts. When picking up my bike I met John. John was great! He too is another passionate guy about bike riding. He was super nice and helpful. What I love about this place and these people are they are not pushy and try to upsell you with all their things. John simply asked are you looking for any accessories? My bike unfortunately did not come with a kick stand so I did purchase one along with a rear bike rack and they were happy to put it on my bike. I also got a water bottle and helmet. John is all for safety. He patiently went over all the helmets and the differences between them. I am not someone who really wears a helmet but I guess it can't hurt and told him I would wear one. The trek team over in Plainview is great one. All super knowledgeable and patient. This was such a great experience and I'll be sure to recommend them to everyone. Had a great experience at Trek Plainview purchasing a bike for my teen son in mid-February. The staff were terrific, very friendly, very knowledgeable, very patient in explaining how gears work to a teen... Despite our late close-to-closure arrival the staff took their time to demonstrate the bike's features, take a test ride, without any rush or desire to get us out of there. Trek is typically a higher end/higher quality product but they had bikes that started at prices within the range of other quality bike stores (not a store like Target/Walmart etc) Though we were at the lower price point of the Trek range they treated us with respect and appreciation for the business. The associate even saw that we were slow to put the bike in the car after the sale and came out to offer help even though the store was long closed by that point (we were just cleaning the trunk), it's not a huge deal but indicative of the level of service. Only suggestion is to tone down the sales pitch on the accessories; we knew we wanted some things anyways (lights, kickstand, etc) but the push seemed a bit much. Of course the items we did want were installed by their mechanics on on the bike while they prepped it to go. The accessories were pricier than can be found online, but they're all solid, seem high quality. If you know you're going to get something like lights for your bike just price it out on Amazon ahead of time so you have a sense of pricing and can make the decision for yourself. Sometimes quick install is worth a few extra bucks. Overall a great experience, would strongly recommend and look forward to returning.
