When my girlfriend and I were looking to make a cross-state move to Chicago from Massachusetts, we spent a ton of time researching the area and finding rental apartments to look at. After a while, I got tired of how much time we were spending and found Andy's name as one of the top results on yelp for rental realtors. Looking to save time, I texted him right away and it was one of the best decisions I made during my search for a new home in a new city. If you want to get in touch with Andy, texting is your best route and he is VERY responsive when doing so. Best case, he'll reply back to you right away, and worse case will be a couple of hours because he is driving to showings. On top of this, Andy will stay in touch with you to make sure he is meeting your needs - if you haven't talked in a couple of days leading up to your appointment for showings, he'll check in to see if you have any new questions. We began the process with Andy about a week before our actual showings since we were flying in from the east coast. The night I contacted him, he entered our information and search criteria into the local realty search system for Chicago. Now, this system looks to be the same for most of rental realtors in the area. What set Andy apart from the other ones (since I ended up getting registered for multiple people through calling about properties on Zillow before talking w/ Andy) is that Andy's search settings led to the most results out of all my accounts in the system. Most of the other people that I had an account with led to 1-2 search results every few days while Andy's settings sent me the latest results twice a day w/ 0-15 results each time. This alone was great and saved my girlfriend and I a ton of time since all we had to do was set a place as "interested" in the tool and Andy took care of organizing the showings. On the day of the showings, we met Andy at the first place. Once we were done there, Andy then drove us in his car to all of the other showing he had organized for us and dropped us off back at our rental car near the first showing. During the showings themselves, he was attentive to how we reacted to each place, was not pushy to move us along at all, and made sure all of our questions were answered if the online listing was missing something. After the showings, Andy continued to be just as communicative and was a wonderful middle-man between us and the people managing the properties we were interested in. If there were problems with the application process or we had questions, he was quick to get in touch with the property owner and get us an answer. We are still in the midst of finalizing a location to live in, but all in all, I could not have asked for someone better to help us in finding a new rental home. JAMES REMPAS, I can't think of a better Leasing Specialist in the city to work with. He is the go to Leasing Specialist at IQ Rentals. Hands down, he knows the city and has the ability to understand and go above and beyond of what his clients are looking for. I went through several other rental companies and even sent pictures of the interior of the type of apartment I was looking for. I wasted weeks looking at places where the online photos came nowhere near what the actual units looked like. I was extremely disappointed and was loosing hope, and time was running out. I found an apartment online and contacted James Rempas and he got back to me immediately. He was so easy to work with and took personal time to speak with me about what I wanted in a place I would be calling home for the next year of my life. The first place he showed me was one that I really liked. The second place was located just a couple of blocks way was a place that we weren't originally scheduled to view. We showed up at the building that has been gutted and rehabbed. I was looking for a studio. As soon as he opens the door and I take my first step inside and I immediately knew and felt I found home. I had believed I was working with Syvlia in finding the perfect apartment for my family. She was prompt to respond to my initial email and called me right away to take down my search parameters, the most important being location so that I can keep my daughter in her phenomenal school. She assured me there were so many options for me in the neighborhood we currently live in and that she would shoot me an email that night with a list of properties to choose from. She would take me to look at them on "X" day as she was booked solid every other day. I felt hopeful and did some creative rearranging so I could get the day off of work. Then the email came...30 listings, most of which were in the suburbs and half of which were 1 bedrooms (we're a family of three). I was able to come up with a small handful of maybes from that list and send them back to her. I never heard from her again. She has not returned an email or a phone call. I've spoken with two other agents since and have not heard back from them after initial contact either. New to Chicago? Overwhelmed by all the choices? Andy is your guy! I just relocated from San Francisco, and while I was beyond thrilled at the inventory and pricing here in Chicago, it is pretty overwhelming as its such a BIG city with so many different neighbourhoods. Everyone at my new job kept asking what neighbourhood did I want. I don't know ! Too many to choose from ! I had been staying at a hotel in The Gold Coast (thanks to my new employer) and was feeling comfortable there as far as safety (being single etc), and it's also pet friendly and lots of great restaurants,bars, etc within a block or two. I found Andy on yelp, contacted him, and he responded to me immediately, was patient with my slowness, send me tons of rentals to view online and was super nice and always available.
