Brought kids for our summer program to Tree Trekkers for a day of fun. It's a little bit of a ride from the Baltimore area. We arrived and there is plenty of parking. They have enough to accommodate buses. The grounds are well maintained. They have pavilions that you can reserve for large groups and picnic tables available on a first come first serve basis. One you arrive and check in a employee with come out to brief your group. They will pass out your tickets for your time slot. Definitely reserve your time slot online and fill out the waiver prior to coming. After check in you will get a safety briefing then go through the practice course. After that you are free to explore the course. They have many different levels from easy to extra challenging. Very fun time had by all. this was definitely out of my comfort zone. I attended a birthday party for my son's friend. there are a few different courses to select from easy to more difficult, and there are directions provided both hands on in visual. staff was very helpful and making sure that the younger kids were comfortable and walk them through many of the obstacles that seems a little frustrating or hard for them. The zip lines were amazing and it also teaches kids a lifelong lesson. It's OK to have fears. It's just about being able to overcome them, different and abilities may be different too. i'm truly glad I've had the experience. I want to say, thank you for the gentleman on the yellow course that assisted my son along with his classmate and believing in themselves and showing them that they could do it. I watch the showman talk to my son about being afraid of the height and that he could do it and provided breathing techniques to assist him. It's nice to know that there are individuals at the establishment that go above and beyond to help out students kids and even adults. I will be back to the establishment to help build more confidence. read more

Great location in Frederick that is easy to reach. There is plenty of parking. It's convenient to check-in and then leave all your things in the car. They have a place for your keys, but also you can clip them with a carabiner to your harness. There is water refill stations. They have indoor restrooms with running water. At the entrance, there are some play areas for kids, including a swing and some corn hole and giant checkers. The area is complete with statues of big foot, a bear, a wolf or two and a panther. There are also pavilions, 2, I believe, for a lunch or snack time- they can be reserved if you have a party there. The courses are all based off the central platform, which makes it very easy for staff to oversee your choices and answer your questions. The courses range from easy yellow and purple up to green then blue then black. There is one course with 9 zip lines- it's red. The courses are at different heights based on difficulty, so in many instances if you look up or down, your element is aligned with another. This is very different from the other courses that I've frequented, but, it sure makes it easy to have staff watch over and monitor folks. There's of course a safety briefing and some safety practice before they let you into the trees with your harness and gloves. Gloves are a must if you're there for any longer than 30 minutes, or your hands will be even sorrier than hands that had gloves. This is also the newest course I've climbed, so that was cool. That being said, I felt this course had a heck of a lot more elements that relied on rope and stepping on hanging stepping things of sorts. There is little climbing and lots of balancing and swinging between elements and steps. The zip lines here were also much better structured than other courses, as I didn't feel there was huge potential to either miss the other side up high or wipeout down low- bonus!! I would have liked a couple longer zip lines, as I felt they were a little bit shorter than some other courses. We didn't get to the 2 black options- diamond and double black diamond. Next time! Plan wisely as it's really your grip that will be the dealbreaker. Because it's newer, the trees were also nota huge part of the course. You know you're in the trees but you don't really feel like you're in a forest, but rather that you're in a ropes course with some trees. It is likely because the elements are created so closely together. That has pros and cons. It's easy to see lots of other people, but it's also easy to see lots of other elements and be distracted. There are a few items they sell for snacks and drinks, but you may want to bring your own or plan to get food soon after- you'll be hungry from all the physical exertion. They have hats, shirts and gloves for purchase, too. Cute merch! The 2.5 hour pass is not enough to get through all the different options, so pick wisely. Be patient and don't forget to wear gloves and use your core! You'll be exhausted for sure! read more

Alright this was a super fun day! I can't tell you how I stumbled upon TreeTrekkers, but shortly after I did, the day was booked. When you arrive, you'll check in and sit at the station to receive instruction and get setup in a harness and receive gloves. Then, you'll move to the live demo area. This takes about 15 minutes and you'll practice before heading to the courses. Get ready because you enter the courses via a central location. From there, staff assist with selecting the course you'd like to take on. If you get stuck, or require assistance, there's staff on the ground that can help when you're navigating. Some courses, although on the moderate level, have tricky sections. Great day, great experience! read more

Overall, TT seems to offer a good alternative to some of the other ropes courses in our area and felt slightly smaller scale, less hectic, and more family friendly, especially for families with younger children. Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids ages 9 and 7) had a great time and all agreed that we liked TT just a little more than the other ropes courses we've tried locally. Plenty of options for easier and more challenging routes. We were comfortable with the CoVid protocols in place. Staff seemed knowledgeable and experienced and well mannered; they truly seem to want guests to have an enjoyable and safe time. The grounds outside the course have numerous areas the smaller kids will enjoy, including swings and animal statues. Fire pits were a nice touch as a warm up station. I think this place is well suited to younger children and my 7-year-old found the latch mechanisms easier to operate than those at Sandy Spring. Will definitely be back! read more

We went here with 3 nervous kids. Tim (who was dressed as a ninja) was amazing at helping us coach the kids through the obstacles and letting them know that they were safe. In the end everyone had a blast and the kids were so proud of themselves for completing it. read more

I CAN NOT say enough great things about this place. First of all the engineering that went into this is amazing. The FB admin is on it!! They have answered questions both before and after our experience. The safety features allow the little ones to really explore the courses on their own. The staff talk you through things from the ground or come up and assist if needed. Lots of encouragement from staff as well as other kids helping! Every staff member had a smile on their face and answered all my many questions (even silly ones)! Also the workout you get is awesome. And the zip line course is a way to sit back and relax!!! I planned a group event for Girl Scouts. Corresponding with event coordinator, Ginny was very smooth. She quickly responded back and answered all of my questions. She kept in contact through the the coordination of the event. Front staff were very kind and trainers were knowledgeable. They have lots of different paths for every level, including young children. Wow! Our kids are teenagers and this adventure aerial park is so much fun for them! We have been there twice and love it! The zip line on the outside of the course is so much fun! Definitely add this to your list of things to do! It's great for the whole family! I got a "best day ever" from my 10year old. The staff is great and explains things so patiently. It was my first time ever doing a ropes course, but they made it super easy to get the hang of things. There's several levels, so you can stick to the easy course like me, or do the harder ones like my dare devil son. He enjoyed doing the ropes, but the zip line that goes around the entire park was his favorite. He was a little scared of the height at first, but ended up doing it several times. He loved it and said he can't wait to go back. I liked that I could do a course and then take a break, but still follow my son around on the path on the ground going song side the ropes course. Great course, set up and updates since last season. One suggestion is to offer a lapel style pin for completing double black diamond. Maybe have it say Tree Trekkers with a double black diamond below it (like a ski double black diamond). Another would be to mount a board from the course on your main office wall that those who complete the whole course can sign. I think it would be a great memory/achievement for anyone who completes the course....like my daughter did yesterday ;-) read more

They have just recently opened and I visited after making an online reservation. The staff immediately greeted me, got me into my harness and showed me the basics of clipping and unclipping from the cables. Each session is good for 3 hours and you have many climbing options. The courses are color coded for skill level and staff is readily available to assist. As this is still brand new, there is some construction happening, but it does not interfere with the action. A really great place to get a different workout high up in the poplar trees. read more

Every aspect of TT was excellent. Staff were all friendly, helpful and respectful. Truely, refreshingly, well thought out management of the entire operation. Totally impressed with this place. Took my just-turned-5 year old daughter. Super friendly. Spent a lot of time making sure we were comfortable with everything before taking our first trek. We had a great time. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful. The facilities were clean and we really liked the layout of both courses and areas sit, eat, and relax. The courses themselves were awesome. We loved the ziplines and the courses. They were both fun and challenging. We've also been to other obstacle courses, but TreeTrekkers by far has more courses to choose from. And we liked having so much time to do the courses and take breaks as we need. This was the best time. The instrcution was thorough and great for youth. I liked how you were on your own throughout the course, yet if help was needed there were staff members around. Such a good team building activity. It was definitely a good workout with plenty of 'trails' to choose from. Definitely follow instructions working up to the black and double black diamond.
