Setting the lesson up was a breeze. Owner Kerry is more than accommodating. Facility is beautiful with indoor and outdoor arenas. Everything was clean and organized. Teacher Catie was phenomenal. Had us trotting, cantering and jumping in no time (we both have previous experience, but hadn't ridden in a while). Horses were docile and easy to ride. Tack was very well kept. Really amazing place. I figured that meant my weekly lesson paid itself right? wrong, it was such a hassle I didn't get any extra lessons. Anyways I have since found a private barn and am a non formal 'working student', since then, I have learned way more about horse care and realized how low Talbots bar was. Things I never realized until later included horses being left with tack on for over an hour, very basic feed, most horses we're just fed sweet feed(that I saw). I was also occasionally asked to dump a horses feed straight onto the ground (stall and field). And don't get me started on the rats, everywhere, it was perfectly normal to see like three rats in the corner of a stall. Horses are also very hard to get going, most needed to be harshly kicked to simply trot. And extreme girthiness was present. I would also like to mention I posted a three star review on Google (being generous) and the owner Emailed my mother, Trying to get me to take it down. Stating that she dosen't think minors shouldn't be posting reviews, and that I didn't see the full extent of their feeding program. No I was not included in the feeding program, but from what I saw in the nasty fly swarmed, rat filled feed room, It wasn't that extensive.

Yelled at me that I…read moreneeded to walk next to my child, then screamed at me for going on the wrong side (no information had been given as to which side) then started screaming at me for walking around to the "correct side". Screamed at his employees, and excited kids for not knowing which side of the table he wanted them standing on for the "line". And this was in the first 20 minutes of the day. I can only imagine how poorly the horses get treated if that is how he interacts with people. I would not consider using them for a party.

They have enough to accommodate buses. The grounds are well maintained. They have pavilions that you can reserve for large groups and picnic tables available on a first come first serve basis. One you arrive and check in a employee with come out to brief your group. They will pass out your tickets for your time slot. Definitely reserve your time slot online and fill out the waiver prior to coming. After check in you will get a safety briefing then go through the practice course. After that you are free to explore the course. They have many different levels from easy to extra challenging. Very fun time had by all. The zip lines were amazing and it also teaches kids a lifelong lesson. It's OK to have fears. It's just about being able to overcome them, different and abilities may be different too. i'm truly glad I've had the experience. I want to say, thank you for the gentleman on the yellow course that assisted my son along with his classmate and believing in themselves and showing them that they could do it. I watch the showman talk to my son about being afraid of the height and that he could do it and provided breathing techniques to assist him. It's nice to know that there are individuals at the establishment that go above and beyond to help out students kids and even adults. I will be back to the establishment to help build more confidence.

If they don't feel that they are ultimately responsible for that, then the parent shall be present in a position where she can see and communicate with the child. In trying to enroll my child for their camp, I had emailed Mackenzie, who claimed to be the owner, if I would be in a position where I could see and communicate with my child during the riding time. My child is indeed within the age range specified for her camp. She responded by telling me the following: I believe we may not be able to provide the experience you are looking for. I suggest perhaps waiting a year or two until your daughter is more able to be independent .... If she is not able to provide accomodations along the lines of her own legal terms and condition, she should say so (or talk to her lawyer to change what she had referred to as "legal stuff", as if that's beyond her responsibility), rather than hide behind my child, suggesting that she is not independent or mature enough for her age. Mind you, she has never met my child. I expected more professionalism. Additionally, unless you sign up on-line, she asks for payment first before providing the terms and conditions and the forms. I had wanted to write a check instead of using the website. Her focus was mainly the money and just wanted me to mail the check, which I found to be shady. I had to actually ask her how she would get the info for the registrant. She mentioned she'd provide forms only after she received the check, but beware, there are no refunds after payment, so the whole process didn't make any sense to me. She also would not allow me to come by the camp to drop off the check and bring my child to see if she might be comfortable with the horses. Rather, she suggested I sign up for a shorter camp. I understand that's her perrogative, but it's a strange way to run a business, especially one that involves horses, which do carry some innate risks, and children. I'd want to see the place before dropping my child off. I had spoken to her on the phone before I had emailed her about the above, and I did not have a good impression. I could not finish a single sentence. She kept interrupting and talking over me halfway through every. single. sentence. She sounded young and immature though she might have been older. I wasn't surprised when I received her email response basically refusing a good customer.

Largely, this was a joy-quenching experience.
