    Bear Mountain Ziplines

I enjoyed ziplining. It was my first time. I was a little nervous at first, but then I felt comfortable as I was going through the course. The staff members were great with guiding me through the whole process. It cost 75 for general admission and 70 for military. I would try ziplining again.

My partner and I loved our experience at bear mountain Ziplines. We had the pleasure to having KT and Jacob as our guides. They complemented each other perfectly and tailored their approach to match our experience and comfort levels. We had a blast from start to finish and plan on going back with more friends and family. Highly recommend!!

Amazing staff & service! I highly highly recommend this place. It's great for kids & safe. My children had a blast! It was their 1st obstacle course, and the man with his daughter was so friendly and patient in guiding us with the course. This place is next to the jelly stone park, so if you're staying there, this is a must!

I felt very safe with the equipment and instruction provided!

I had an absolute blast on the ziplines at Bear Mountain (Adventure in the Great Shenandoah Valley)! My friend and I chose the Mana Bear Canopy Tour. This provided an exhilarating experience for frequent zip-liners and first-timers alike! The Mama Bear Canopy tour features 7 lines, which increase in length and speed as you progress in the course, and build up to a very long and faster final line! This set-up is especially great for folks like me, who were a bit nervous at the beginning of the course. Pros: Reasonable Price: The price for the canopy tour is $75 per person, which definitely feels reasonable, given the instruction and attention that you receive on this tour. Tours are offered throughout the day and range in time depending on the size of the group-- My group had 8 people in it, and I think the whole experience was about 90 minutes long, which felt like a good amount of time to me. Amazing Tour guides: The tour guides could not be any funnier, sweeter, or more helpful. Katie and Savannah led my tour, and ensured that everyone fully understood the proper form and basic movements to zipline safely. Small Group Sizes: My group size of 8 was just perfect-- it included a whole variety of folks, from people who had zip-lined before, to first timers. There were a couple of teenagers, a mom and daughter, an older married couple, and also what seemed like a first date. Overall, this makes for a great experience regardless of age or specific situation! Safety Precautions taken: I felt very safe on the ziplines. The instructors make sure that you are using the equipment correctly. You are weighed before going on the ziplines to ensure that you meet the weight requirements, as well. Beautiful Views and location: Overall, you really experience some beautiful views on this zipline course. I went in fall, and was not disappointed. This course is located in Luray, Virginia, and is nestled in the Shenandoah Valley. I believe that from DC, it took about 2:30 hours to drive here. Tips: - Service: There is really no signal in this area-- I had no service here. This didn't present an issue for me, in fact I preferred to disconnect here, but just be aware in case you need to connect for whatever reason! - Phone/ Pockets: I brought my phone as I zip-lined, to take pictures. You will need a very secure pocket in your clothes in order to keep your phone in, if you plan to bring it. You can't take pictures while you are actually on the lines, because both of your hands will be engaged and holding onto things as you zip. However, you can take pictures between lines, in the waiting areas. If you are going to be going on the course with a friend, you can take pictures of them while they zipline, because everyone does each line one-at a time. - Be on time: If you are late, you might hold the rest of the group up, and eventually they will probably have to kick off the tour without you. My tour started pretty promptly! If you are going to be even 5 late, I would definitely call the # to let them know. Other: It was really fun to ride up the mountain to the course starting point in bumpy flat bed dragged by tractor Cons: None to report! This was an incredible experience :)! Zero complaints, I would definitely go again!

It was nice being dropped off and picked up. We did have issues with our card online, but when I called in to book, Nancy was helpful. She got us all situated and sent an email to confirm. We filled out waivers online which was a breeze. We watched a quick safety video, picked up our lifevest and were on our way. The water was the perfect temp, and it was clear. Tips: bring snacks and water. You are out there 4-5 or longer hours. Especially if the water is low, which ours was. We used a waterproof bag and had no issues. We used a tube with a cup holder which was nice. I wore my life vest out of precaution even though I can swim, plus it made it comfortable for my to use it as a neck rest. I've noticed people mention in previous reviews that the bus was dirty ect. Um, you're in the woods. If you get picked up after many other groups the bus will be dirty as everyone is wet coming out of the water no matter what activity you choose. I would not own a brand spanking new vehicle for this type of environment and job. Used is best and saves money I'm sure. Wear a hat and sunglasses, put in that sunscreen. Bring a waterproof phone case/bag. You will have no service out there so put it on airplane mode and use it as a camera.

It was finally warm enough to do an outdoors activity so I booked us tickets to go over the Easter weekend. I reccomend booking in advance as they do get booked up quickly. Also make sure to sign the waivers beforehand; so you don't have to do it at check in. I must say the staff this time around was truly commendable. They were great at instructing us the how tos and safety measures. They were considerate and patient dealing with my young nephews which I noticed and appreciated a lot. We did the tree top journey course as my nephews are still young and aren't quite tall enough for the other/ more advanced loop. This one was perfect for them. Some parts were challenging and scary but we managed to brave through it and were having the time of our lives! Tips: wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Bring a attachable cord for your phone so you don't run the risk of dropping it LOL. An hour gives you around 2-3 rounds on the loop depending on how fast you go through the courses. So much fun! I took advantage of Black Friday offers and went on one of the last days they were open for the year. Freezing temperatures, but with good layering, hat, and gloves that wasn't an issue (I had pre-purchased their gloves, but wasn't thinking about temperature and got fingerless ... luckily I had brought a thick pair of my own gloves as a backup). I was by myself for the adventure (my wife stayed on the ground and took pictures - it's okay to bring spectators), but there were some other groups on different courses. The staff was friendly and helpful and made sure to tighten up the harness between each course. I did about half of the total courses - two full courses and one halfway, which had an option to return to the start before some obstacles I wasn't quite ready for mentally. The first two courses I did included a handful of obstacles and ended in a zipline. The obstacles get progressively more challenging as you go along, partially in terms of balance, but mostly in terms of fear factor. For me the toughest to psych up for was a set of free hanging ropes that you walk on. The Tarzan swing also took a minute to mentally prepare. The remaining courses I decided to save for another day after looking at them from the ground - I'd been challenged enough for the day, but definitely plan to go back and build up to those, hopefully with some friends along for support.
