This place is amazing for food and ambiance. Easy free parking next to the beach. It is outdoor seating with coverings to block sun. We went twice during our stay. We had afternoon coffee. It's a very relaxing atmosphere with the music they play. For dinner, we had a pizza and kale quinoa salad. There was a musician the Wednesday we visited. They have space heaters. An awesome and wholesome find. Sure it is slightly off the beaten path but with a very bohemian feel, mingled with locals and their dogs and kids and other castaways. It was absolutely filled to the brim with people, so we only managed to get seating at the front outside which was totally fine. It is not exactly busy out there, unless you count locals walking by with their dogs :) The wood-fired pizza was amazing and hit the spot. A great places to chill and suck up the vibes. Omg! I'll be back x 10! We walked from town on the beach, only 15 - 20 min at a steady pace north. This place is calm and cool and the service is lovely. The woodfire pizza, mussels and tacos are amazing! The service is super quick too! I also enjoyed a green juice YUMMY! and walked away with a bottle of jalepeno chilli sauce made in house by their chef. This is a restaurant/bar with great atmosphere and good food (well, at least good pizzas!). I went with a group of friends, and at first it was slightly confusing to find. The address took me to the right location, but it's in a seemingly random area outside of the main part of Byron (down a dark residential road). It's right by the beach, but not on the beach. As expected, the place has the feel of a treehouse - everything is made with wood. There was a live musician playing guitar and singing, and I have to say I was obsessed. He was so good, which made the experience all the better. The wait staff was great. They were super friendly, attentive and gladly took our picture. We all ordered pizzas to share. We could see the big brick oven where they are made. They were neither thin crust nor deep dish - somewhere in the middle. They weren't the absolute best pizzas I've ever had, but they were still good. Perhaps could have used more cheese. I was still pleased overall. read more

Ambiance is about the only thing this place has left going for it these days: cool decor, beautiful people and tasteful music. The pizza (big enough for one person) is double the price of what they charge in the land of pizza Italy or nearly double compared to popular pizza joints in the heart of Sydney. Sorry guys but a pizza is a layer of dough with virtually nothing on it, charging $20+ for it is pretty ridiculous. They have wifi which apparently is not available for customers. Nice touch in a land of limited data (perhaps a way to prevent people from leaving more bad reviews, hey?) Used to rave about this place but it seems these days it's just all about the money. The menu has a great selection of pizzas including several options for vegetarians. We tried the Veg Ahh Licious and Squeaky Squirrel. Both were very tasty. They also had live music playing which added to the atmosphere. A disappointment to the great food was the staff. They act like everything you ask is too hard for them and ignore you when they walk past. Most of them seemed like they did not want to be working there. I would still recommend the restaurant based on the food. Just be prepared for the service you will receive. read more

Such a cool place to hang out for a chilled drinks and dinner! The food is great value and delicious, the venue is eclectic cool and very relaxed. The music is FAB! Thought the place had good potential. Menu looked amazing and everything sounded so delicious. However we ordered the pesto chicken pizza to share and it was just ok. Pesto flavour could of been stronger. There was also a lack of wind there so it felt kinda stuffy, a few fans woulda been good. Terrible service perpetuating a backpacker mindset is slightly offset by a lovely atmosphere. Good pizza (eventually) the service is not down to lack of effort from the staff, it just takes forever to get served - which they do warn you when you get there. But telling people early on that service will be bad does not make service good. Still worth going to for some good live music and pleasant company without having to go into the town centre. We had read about this place and decided to give it a try. We're asked upon entering on a Friday night whether we had reservations... nope. But after explaining that we had come from a long long way away e we got a nice seat, close to the bar and live music. Drinks were good but a bit pricey however the pizza was great! Did takeaway pizza from this location. Pizza was ready in the quoted time and was hot when I got it. Great selection of bottled take away beverages (non alcoholic is what I'm reviewing) including lots of organic options. Ordered the Hawaiian pizza. Was a solid 8/10 for Australian pizza. Quick, easy, simple. Overall 3.8 stars. Pizza wasn't amazing but it did the job for a night. Wouldn't immediately return but it's def reliable. read more

Went here for a luncheon with family and friends. It was an enjoyable experience without being exceptional. The food was very good as we settled in the calamari to share followed by four pizzas to share. Hats off to the pizza chef who was under the pump to get the wood fire pizzas flowing to a fairly large group of patrons. There were no scraps left at our table. One downer was one of the waitresses wasn't wearing shoes which is probably not what you would expect to see especially going in and out of the kitchen area. There is a lot to like about The Treehouse. It's in super cool Bilongil, and the staff are all very good looking and, of course, super cool. Most of the seating is outside, but covered, we were there in pouring rain, and it was still nice. There are some super comfy old couches, and big tables for groups. There is a woodfired pizza oven, and everything you need for a great lunch or evening. Somehow I didn't enjoy it very much. The staff seemed a bit too busy being cool, although they were pleasant and reasonably efficient. The decor felt tired, and needs a spruce up. The prices, for me were too high. The food was good, not great. So not saying don't go, just don't expect too much, and you might just have a great night out. read more

I'll start off by saying that I have never written a restaurant review on a reviews site in my life...but I feel compelled to write this. I visited Treehouse on Saturday. I was in Byron visiting my sister and she suggested we go here. As soon as I entered I got a strong vibe of disorganisation and would have left were it not for my sister. We said hi to a girl as we entered who said she'd bring menus to our table. After seven minutes no menus had arrived. That combined with a speaker playing loud music above our heads caused us to move tables. We moved to another table (that we had to clear ourselves and grab our own menus so as not to endure another wait) and after another 10 minutes nobody had even offered us a drink. We (literally) grabbed a waitress who had just finished taking another order (lord knows how long we'd have been waiting otherwise) and placed a very simple order of one baguette, one salad and one bowl of chips. We were told they were short staffed. Then the wait began. I could feel we'd be sat there for a while so I took note of the time we'd placed out order. 45 minutes later and with nothing in front of us we managed to grab the waitress who apologised for the wait and said they were "still ironing out the kinks". My 'look' must have hit home as two minutes later a guy I can only assume was the owner showed up and said our food would arrive in "six minutes". Fifteen minutes later and still nothing. One hour had passed by the time a baguette landed in front of me. No chips and no salad for my sister. Not only that, the baguette wasn't the one I had ordered and I was informed that when they run out of something they just provide the next best thing, without telling the customer. Despite a free drink and the offer of doing something with the bill I'd had enough and we promptly left. I can honestly say that it was the worst dining experience I've had and I would strongly advice anyone considering paying this place a visit to think again. The dining area was half full and I counted at least 5 wait staff, so lord knows how they managed to mess it up so badly. Truly awful. read more
