This was the second home in Marin that he helped us get into and we are grateful for a smooth process both times, I can't recommend him enough. After we bought our new home, we looked to quickly turnaround and sell our other home in a somewhat slower market hoping to get it sold before the holidays. Barr's team moved quickly and professionally. The staging, photography, and marketing were all done at a high level, and he helped us sell our house within a week going to market - sold well over asking. He always took our phone calls, answered texts and emails and pushed through the process without a hitch. Thank you Barr and team for making this home buying and selling experience as seamless as possible.

We contacted them several months ahead of our target date for selling and their team was very helpful and supportive in guiding us through the inspections as well as in deciding what updates my wife's family's home of over 60 years needed to attract potential buyers. The photos and videos of the property were outstanding and the staging was beautiful. Ultimately the property sold a week after listing for 25% over the asking price with 7 offers. We were amazed and very appreciative of the expertise Barr and the Own Marin team provided.

She has been a great resource and provided a lot of terrific information and expertise as she is a Marin "Local". Hilary's knowledge of the market and solid industry connections (agents, lenders, inspectors, various contractors) was instrumental to the purchase of our first home in spring of 2022 :) After we closed escrow, Hilary was still on top of everything and assisted us by helping line us up with painters and floor refinishers. As new home buyers, we had very little experience in this and she was definitely a great help and provided guidance. We really enjoyed working with her, and definitely recommend her to anyone who is looking for a resourceful, patient, responsible, friendly agent. Thanks so much Hilary!

Hilary is by far the best Realtor we have ever worked with, hands down. We've bought four other…read morehomes in the San Francisco Bay Area, and in our past experiences, the agents we've worked with haven't done a whole lot of legwork for us, instead placing the burden of finding a property squarely on our shoulders. What a difference with Hilary! Our first meeting with her, she drove us around and showed us neighborhoods, taking the time to go over each area in detail. When she sent us MLS listings, she was incredibly responsive when we had questions about properties we were interested in, and she always made the time to show us places we wanted to see. She even filmed a walk-through of a home for us when we weren't able to get out to see it that day. The other wonderful thing about Hilary is that she KNOWS Marin County. I'm a lifelong Bay Area resident and thought I understood the ins and outs of Marin pretty thoroughly. Well, Hilary's deep knowledge of this area blew mine completely out of the water. Because she was born and raised here, she knows the county like the back of her hand, and she understands the pros and cons of living in each of the various towns. We also loved that while Hilary highlighted the positives of the various properties, she also did not sugarcoat the negatives. Early on, there was one home near the top of our price range that we were interested in, and it would have been easy for her to make a quick sale if she just showered praise on it. Instead, while she did say positive things about the home, she also pointed out negatives we hadn't thought of, and we decided to pass. Through Hilary's hard work and diligence, we eventually found the perfect home for our family. I should also add that we were looking in a popular price range, which made the market very competitive. The house we ended up purchasing was one we had seen on the MLS but had dismissed due to a faulty assumption. Hilary suggested we go check it out, anyway, and when we saw it in person we knew it was "the one". She carefully crafted an offer for us and the home was ours. We are very grateful to Hilary for her help and expertise. She was with us through every step of the process, going above and beyond with every aspect of the experience. She was always accommodating, super proactive, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. We couldn't have asked for a better guide.

We did exhaustive research before deciding on SR. Both times! It is truly one of a kind. It is absolutely beautiful! Feels like a luxury resort! The grounds, units, clubhouse, restaurants are beautiful! The dining experience is like no other facility! A five star restaurant! Residents are treated with great respect. All the time. By ALL the employees. SR goes the distance to take care of their residents. Valet services of all kinds made our parents feel cared for, at the same time, maintaining their independence. Easy maintenance, weekly cleaning, emergency call buttons in every room of their condo makes life so much easier for them! AND, the real estate transactions were so easy and straight-forward! Angela took care of us for our three transactions (two times purchasing, one time selling). She is extremely knowledgeable about SR. She was great at reading our parents and their needs. Absolutely nothing to worry or fuss about! We would highly recommend Smith Ranch and its Marketing Associates!

Her advice is always top notch and she knows the market very very well. On top of that, she can definitely sell a listing and she negotiates hard on my behalf. There are always instances where Renee negotiates to save me money or make me more money. She's also very responsive with her communication. I honestly still haven't found another real estate agent like Renee. I highly recommend her to anyone look for a real estate agent. [The review below is from 2021 that I forgot to post] - pictures are the blue house with a white kitchen] Renee was a great realtor to work with when selling my renovation project in San Rafael! I found her through her online marketing and I was impressed with her listing presentation. When it came to selling the home, Renee was very very aggressive (in a good way) with the buyers. We were expected $1,250,000, but she got us an extra $75k on top of that with a non-contingent offer. Right before that, she also told us how many buyers would come through, how many offers there would be, how much she expects to sell it for, and the exact date when the property should go on the market and she was right every single time. When it came to escrow, Renee was in control at every step and even after escrow. When the buyer had some ridiculous requests, Renee knew exactly what to say and she crafted every response and message to perfection. I felt protected, and I felt that she was looking out for my best interest. I would absolutely do business with her again and I would definitely recommend her to others!

The kitchen was done so poorly, it should have been an embarrassment but Renee still marketed it as a "chef's kitchen". The home depot cabinets were installed backwards, there was an extra hole for the vent that installed incorrectly, shelves and knobs were missing, there was ZERO thought put into the layout (the fridge and stove were sandwiched next to each other). We have high ceilings with beams, Renee's painters literally painted over duct tape all long the beams. The "designer lighting" is from IKEA. She had the painters paint right over tile in the bathrooms and within one day of usage the paint was peeling up with every step on the shower floor. The hall closet had a new hollow door installed but was unable to be opened because of a light fixture installed in the hallway, so instead of reconfiguring the light or the doors, she simply had someone nail the closet door shut. We purchased the home with the intent to do a full remodel but I believe it is worth pointing out Renee's unethical marketing and clear intent to put "lipstick on a pig". I would never work with Renee to sell my home if this is the type of work she finds acceptable.

In our first meeting, Kira exuded such the perfect blend of professionalism, expertise, humor and empathic listening, we knew that she was the right agent for our purchasing a home in a low inventory area (San Geronimo Valley). He cared about us, he was very candid when he though a home wasn't right for us and thankfully we listened to him. We eventually found the home of our dreams. I met Steve in 2013, when he sold my neighbor's house in San Anselmo. I took an instant liking to…read morehim and kept his business card. (He's now been involved in 3 out of the 8 houses on our street, one sale and two purchases.) Five years later, I tracked Steve down as I wanted him to be my agent to help sell my inherited family home. The first thing he said when he came to look at the house was, "Dude, you're leaving money on the table". Thus began an odyssey of a year and a half of remodeling and renovation with his guidance. (I originally just wanted to sell the house as-is, thus Steve's comment.) Steve's wife, Kim, an interior designer, lent initial guidance on the project and provided input on paint choices and furniture. Steve kept an eye out for usable materials from other projects and showed up a couple of times with strings of café lights that helped make the place look magical. I needed to replace some rotated retaining walls and Steve provided contact information for a contractor that did an immense amount of high quality work in a week and a half. Another contractor replaced older double-glazed windows that had failed. (I did joke with Steve that if he was really a full-service broker, he'd know a discrete arsonist.) He showed up one day to touch base while I was pressure washing the carport. Steve grabbed a broom and starting brushing the standing water out, how many agents would do that? As the market was very hot, we had trouble finding a stager that was available. (I was rather dubious about the value of staging at first due to the high cost.) Michelle at Revelation was more affordable than the others and did a bang-up job. She made the house look too good for the likes of us. It's a common phenomenon that people think twice about selling their house after all the improvements are made and they go from drab to fab. Two photographers were provided, including one with a drone, that produced some beautiful collateral with twilight photos. As I ran out of funds near the end, despite acting as the GC, I wanted to help expedite the sale by having the house measured and inspections done before placing the house on the market; he provided both and lent the funds to do so. We were happy that the sale met my target price. We wanted to move to Pt. Reyes Station. We met multiple times to look at properties in west Marin. Steve met me at the county planning offices several times including a paid sit-down meeting with the county where the planning department researches the said property and guides you as to what is feasible. I wasn't aware of such a thing. It was at Steve's suggestion that we set up the meeting and we ultimately decided against making an offer on an overpriced lot with way too many restrictions. At another vacant site, Steve made the observation that there were blue lines (water elements) in the back and side that could create problems getting a leach field approved. Despite his observation, we made an offer that was rejected and I think he was relieved. Steve didn't think the seller would exactly be Mr. Rogers. I have waited a year to write this review, since the sale of our house, because we weren't done with him. We closed escrow, today, on four vacant acres in Sebastopol with Steve's help. Our ambition is to do restorative farming and to build a house that meets our design sense and needs. Few of the lots we considered met all of our criteria including zoning issues. This one does. Steve came to look at it and gave it his blessing so we went forward. There was a last-minute second offer from another party but we won the bidding with my letter to the seller. I wasn't confident with my letter but Steve gave me the thumbs up saying it was perfect the way it was. He was right since the two bids were equal but the seller chose us. Finally, to the "lady" with the two-star review who accused Steve of being in it for the money; I'm offended at the mischaracterization and feel I must defend him. I never felt Steve didn't have our best interests at heart whether it was in selling our house or buying our land over a 2+ year period.
