Denise is one of the best real estate agents in Marin, CA. She is highly knowledgeable, patient, responsive, trustworthy, ethical, and goes above and beyond for her clients. She spent nearly 5 months helping my wife and me in our home search and while we ended up buying out of state, she still provided a competitive real estate analysis to help us make an informed decision. If we ever buy in Marin, Denise will be the first agent we work with! read more

Denise Montalvo was a terrific agent for us. She is kind, thoughtful, patient, smart and efficient. She was always available for home tours. She and I toured many houses together until we found the one we fell in love with. She was always adamant about having the feeling that "its the one". My husband and I are absolutely taken by the property we purchased with her guidance and work. She has a lot of knowledge about houses so it was very helpful for us being first time home owners. Denise was very easy to talk to, connect with and she did an amazing job collecting all of the information about the property for inspections, boundary lines and historical documents. She helped us a great deal with negotiations and we are thankful for her! Her kindness, energy, strategic mindset and determination made this home buying process with ease. If we buy again, I would have her as our agent again. I highly recommend her to anyone! read more

Denise went above and beyond our expectations with our house search. She is professional, patient, kind, and extremely thoughtful and knowledgeable about the market, houses, inspection reports, and fine details, many qualities of which other agents we have worked with in the past lacked. I have nothing but positive things to say about Denise and would work with her again and highly recommend her to anyone searching for their home. read more

Denise Montalvo is simply the best, and I would recommend her to anyone either selling or buying a property. Denise is not motivated by money. Denise was always very pleasant to work with, and she was always looking for ways to help us with our purchase (e.g., pointing out factors we should consider and giving us useful information, ordering roof and window replacement estimates, arranging various inspections for us, and asking sellers questions for us). She was also always happy to help us in any ways that we asked her to (e.g., showing us lots of houses, and patiently waiting for us as we looked at some of them in great detail). A really great realtor! read more

Denise was very knowledgeable, communicative, and helpful during the entire process of selling our home. She did a wonderful job explaining things that we had questions about or did not fully understand and took the time to assess what factors were important for us in a home and financially. She was always reachable and very available/flexible to find time to show homes. Her knowledge and contacts with other realtors and other clients interested in our property made a naturally stressful life decision to sell a home so much less stressful and smooth. We would 100 percent recommend anyone thinking about moving to work with Denise." read more

I was torn choosing between 3 really nice and knowledgeable realtors in the beginning. I chose Denise because she seemed really interested in understanding my unusually complex situation, more like a friend than someone I'd just met. And I was impressed by her being a top producer in the county. I knew what a huge amount of work it was for her to have sold 16 homes in the previous year, so I knew she was a hard worker. We contracted right before covid which then changed my moving plans. So I was on again, off again several times over a couple of years. She stuck with me through it all. She insisted I'd do best if my home was vacant. So I needed a hard money loan to buy a new home before I sold. This opened a whole new can of worms and stress. Including that we were listing coming into the slow season. Denise offered comfort and wise advice through it all. I was most resistant to hiring a very expensive stager but I kept falling back on Denise's experience and it was the best thing! I know it was that which made us get 3 offers all way above asking price. Plus 3 more that were serious but we were already pending or they fell through. I'm so grateful I chose Denise. I'm going to miss her. Cari Alter, Marin County read more

I told my wife, Marie, we need to interview at least a couple of other listing agents even though we have confidence in Denise who served us well as our buyer's representative when we purchased our home. I knew during her thoughtful and professional presentation she was the one I wanted to be our listing agent. She had already earned our confidence and won over our friendship previously but I am who I am and thought you should interview 3 people. In retrospect that was unnecessary, as I knew Denise could be trusted to do a thorough job and she competently helped us from beginning to end in the selling of our home. She went beyond expectations in providing the clear realization of what we could do to prepare our house at a minimum, from her knowledgeable design perspective. She even did a lot of the work herself! She made sure we completed essential early things for the buyer to appreciate and aide the expediting of a sale such as a home inspection, HOA documents, etc. I really was delighted to see how well our home was marketed and sorry i missed the television presentation as I have watched Coldwell Banker's Bay Area TV presentation of properties and was very impressed. You want someone who misses no details, is the essence of professionalism, very experienced, and so easy to be around. The listing of our home went live March 4, 2021, we had multiple offers by March 9, and we closed the sale of our townhome style condo April 4. How could I have even thought we might go with anyone else? Denise Montalvo is the best! read more

We got a referral for Denise through my fathers friend. My dad is a commercial real estate broker and helped us buy the house, but was not local anymore to help us sell it, so we were still pretty oblivious as to what was the right approach to sell the house. Denise came in with a plan and that plan worked. We got an offer for close to 10% over asking within the first day and closed that offer within 30 days. During the process she was diligent and knew exactly how to handle each situation that arose. We were undergoing an international move at the time so were under an incredible amount of stress and I've got to say that selling our house was the easiest thing we did during that time, due in no small part to Denise's professionalism and knowledge of the market. We would definitely use her again. read more

Having bought and sold a lot of real estate, I can confidently say Denise Montalvo was THE best agent I've ever had! She alerted us to every detail and step of the process. Her knowledge and contacts are very extensive. Her level of responsiveness and service is 110%. I'd recommend her before any other agent. You will be very glad she represented you. read more

Denise is a go-getter! She will find you what you want, trust me. I had been working with another dealer with little to no results. She does more for you than put you on an internet database. She is out scouting for you, sending personal emails about particular holes she think dovetail with your wants and budget and keeps a positive energy through the process. She has a knack for finding cool places at your budget, and is not afraid to go to bat for you when negotiating. Do yourself a favor and meet with her. Denise is one of the best out there in Marin and Sonoma. read more

Denise came highly recommended after we had been looking for a house in Marin for quite sometime. As soon as we started working with Denise and telling her what we liked and where we wanted to live, she already had multiple houses set up for us to see in our price range. Denise found houses that were not listed on the typical real estate websites and went to every brokers open house and open house with us. She was also on our schedule. She would show us houses at anytime we asked. She was not only very knowledgeable about real estate and the area we wanted to live, but was a pleasure to work with. Being a first time buyer she made us feel very comfortable and never rushed to make a decision. She ended up finding us a perfect house in our price range. I would highly recommended Denise to anyone. She is a go-getter with a great personality. She made us feel at ease during the entire process and knows what she is doing. read more

Denise is the best. What sets her apart is that she is incredibly patient and has your best interests at heart. We worked with her for close to 18 months looking for our first home in Marin on a small budget..not an easy task!! We had really high expectations and changing needs as our family grew but she never pressured us into a neighborhood or price point we were uncomfortable with. I always felt I could be open with her even when I knew we sounded ridiculous. In the end she advised us on the most lucrative terms/offer on a home in a neighborhood that we never dreamed of being able to get into and most importantly we don't feel like we settled. Thank you Denise for standing by our side on this very long and emotional rollercoaster!! read more

I highly recommend Denise Montalvo, who helped me purchase my 5th house in the Spinnaker Point neighborhood of San Rafael, my 1st purchase as a single woman. Extremely knowledgeable in the Marin County market, Denise patiently sought out & toured me through the somewhat limited options available in my price range that still met my criteria. She is extremely detail-oriented with the at times overwhelming paperwork and guided me seamlessly through a somewhat complicated escrow. read more

Denise just helped me buy my first home, and I am eternally grateful. She educated me about the process, helped me along every step of the way, and was always patient, always had time for me, and was always FUN! She does not just work 9-5, but was always there when I had a question, and was as excited for me as I was. She knows the market, knows what is good and bad about properties, and I trusted her completely. I cannot recommend her more highly! Thank you, Denise! read more

Denise is such a great realtor to work with...she deserves more than one review from me! She's a real GEM (Goes the Extra Mile)! At times there were things that came up that I'd just scratch my head with a perplexed look...Denise would take the bull by the horns and get the answers we needed! She guided me through every step of the way both when I sold my condo and then again when I made a new purchase! I highly recommend Denise...whatever your real estate needs are! read more

I was referred to Denise by one of her prior clients, and boy, did she get the job done! At the time I was living in San Francisco, but wanted to move to Marin county. Denise met with me to get a thorough sense of the qualities I was looking for in a property, and then in a very thorough and dedicated manner, she worked tirelessly until she found the place that I live in now. Denise is a very competent realtor, but also is thoughtful and sensitive, and goes above and beyond the requirements to get the job done.
