Treat Yourself provides classic desserts with new twists. The Caramel Turtle Fudge Brownies we make are made from scratch, but we added a twist to the recipe and added a turtle fudge cookie dough on top, and sprinkled it with pecans and walnuts to give it a truly delectable taste. We did the same thing with our Strawberry-Lemon Buttercream Cake. We wanted to add a different twist to traditional strawberry cake, so we added lemon buttercream icing on the inside to give it a truly special taste. Please give anyone of our desserts a try; we think you'll end up with a few favorites!
History
Established in 2017.
I started cooking in 2008. I've cooked some of everything, from steaks to cakes. The Treat Yourself, build-it-yourself concept, came to me while I was studying for my Master's Degree Program. I have a passion for desserts, and sometimes during my studies I would go get a dessert while I was studying. But the only thing was, when I would go to restaurants to get desserts, I never could get the desserts just the way I wanted them. So I thought to myself, "Why not let the customer build their desserts the way they want to." "Customers should be able get what they want on their dessert." I have been building my own desserts for myself well over 10-15 years. Although I have been cooking for a while, this is a brand new concept, so I do not have years of experience with providing other people with build-it-yourself desserts.
Meet the Business Owner: Damon B.
The reason I created Treat Yourself is because while I was studying for my MBA, I wanted something sweet, and there was no place I could go get peach cobbler and ice cream like I wanted it. I thought to myself, it sure would be nice if there was a place that I could go get dessert without having to make a couple of stops. So I was like, why can't I create a restaurant to where people could come in and get whatever dessert they want, and have whatever toppings (ice cream, pecans, walnuts, whip cream, etc.) they want to go on their dessert. I never would have thought I would be standing over a hot stove baking. Even though I took Culinary Arts, I was only wanting to learn to cook for myself. I told myself that that was not my line of business. I love fitness, so that's where I thought I'd always be. But it's really funny how things play out though, because I never thought this would be me. Working out, baking different desserts, and going to school for an MBA.
