We had a prom dress emergency for my daughter and I called Treasure Island yesterday for a same day appointment and I was so happy to hear that they would be able to help us. As soon as we got there, we were greeted with a warm welcome and my daughter's mind was immediately put at ease seeing the selections of beautiful dresses to choose from. The staff helped her find the perfect dress for her and even helped us find some accessories that matched it perfectly. Being in such a tough situation due to her previous dress we purchased, the staff at Treasure Island made what could have been a devastating turn of events into an absolutely perfect outcome. Prices were absolutely reasonable and the staff was so friendly it felt like we were with friends. We can't wait for prom next week to show off this dress and will totally recommend all of our friends and family to come to Treasure Island for their dress needs. read more

Really bad experience at this dress shop. The older woman who owned the store was nice at the start but what made it worse is when she commented on my body and said, "You'd probably have to wear shapewear to make the dress look good." That was completely out of line and honestly just disrespectful. I wasn't even upset about the comment it was the audacity she had knowing shes fat and ugly anyway so i don't know why she thought it was okay commenting on my body We left right after that. No young girl should be talked to like that while shopping for dresses for an event they've probably been looking forward to there whole life . The only positive was the two younger girls working there, one named Maddie were really sweet and helpful. It's just unfortunate the owners ruined the whole experience. Let's start 1st this place is very crowded and small -- you can hardly move around, and the selections are limited. I had a very disappointing experience here. As soon as we walked in, the staff immediately asked my daughter her dress size without even greeting us or making her feel comfortable. My daughter is a size 5 and curvy, but the way they approached her felt unprofessional and inconsiderate. To make matters worse, the owner went on to state that the dresses he had might not fit her -- I was shocked. I should have left immediately, but I thought, No, I don't want to let his ignorance ruin my daughter's experience. Needless to say, he did. Even though I had an appointment, the owner wanted to take another customer ahead of me just because they came in with a baby.( he went on to add that the baby was upset and crying that's why they wanted to take them ahead of us, but the baby was not upset or crying, we were the ones that were visibly upset, and even the other customer agreed that I should be helped first since my appointment was indeed ahead of hers. Here we are now finally in the dressing room and the attendant paid little to no attention to my daughter and didn't seem interested in helping her with the gowns, while being very attentive to other patrons in the store. (strange). Comments about dress sizes, especially to young girls, can have lasting effects on their self-esteem, and this is something the owner should seriously take into consideration Save yourself and your daughter the heartache and go somewhere else. The service was fine, the people who owned it seemed nice enough, a little nosy, but still pleasant for the most part. When we went to try on the 5 dresses we were allowed, the dressing rooms seemed a bit out in the open with curtains that moved with the slightest breeze. Dresses were nice, but when we asked for help regarding specific, popular designer dresses, the woman told us they were out of style. Felt very pressured to buy a dress, even though they were all lowk ugly. I took my granddaughter to this location. It is very cramped and has no space to get by or even pass other customers. They give the girls no privacy. They were very harsh with their delivery of words for girls that are a little more curvy. You can't even see the selections of what they have. They made the experience terrible. I would never go back to this location. I think they need to rethink the way they speak to people. The younger lady is just as rude as the owners. While the tux I bought looked decent for prom, there were just so many flaws of this place. It is obnoxiously tiny and there's little to no room to move. I had the husband who didn't quite give me a hard time regarding the other reviews. But what had me in disbelief was being charged 230 dollars to RENT a suit. I asked other guys at my prom how much their suit was and they told me that same price that they BOUGHT it. It's just a disappointing establishment and will never recommend this place. I will saythe one positive thing about this boutique was that the owner said that she would squeeze my daughter in for a 3pm appointment. That's absolutely all that I can say. It's an extremely small shop that's packed with dresses, but here's the kicker.... they have 2 small racks for any young lady or women who wears a size 12 or higher! I felt soo bad for my daughter knowing that the owner would repeatedly say "non of those will fit you, they are 6's and 8's. Your size is here (the shortest side of a wall that has a doorway beside it) and in the front of the store) again the same size as the one in the back. The fact that they pack their store for smaller girls making someone who is not a size 2-8 is ridiculous! We drove 45mins to get there, waited almost two hours only to be told that they didn't have anything her size? You asked me on the phone what her size was? You have fuller figured girls barely fitting into a dress standing front and center next to a girl complaining about her size 6 is too big!! Way to boost a girl's confidence! We went looking for a Prom dress for my daughter. Upon arrival the man asked my daughter what color and style she was looking for. His response was absolutely disrespectful. Surprised at so many poor reviews. Fortunately was not my experience. My daughter was referred by a classmate and upon being at wits end at my daughter's indecisiveness I agreed to try this spot. My daughter made the appointment because I was not willing to drive what was 25 min. away to not be seen. We arrived mid-afternoon on a weekday and we were the only ones there. We were greeted by the owner who I learned ran the store with his wife. They've owned for years. But he greeted my daughter and I nicely. Upon my daughter explaining the style she was interested in, he assisted us with sorting thru ALL the dresses. The choices were overwhelming as there are dresses EVERYWHERE so I appreciated his assistance. I do agree that he was a bit opinionated but in spite of his opinion if it was a dress my daughter wanted to try, I politely asked that he add to the fitting room. He's an older man, reminded me of my Grandfather. However I do agree that it's a fine line when dealing with young girls. I don't want anyone dictating my choices or those of my daughter. Will never refer anyone here or let my other daughter get her prom dress here. The dress we bought was marked up $130 above the price online. No tag in dress so didn't know the brand and was told it was a "one of a kind". It is NOT one of a kind. Searched Internet and found the dress for $240 (we paid $426) Price online on Treasure Island website was $290. Daughter picked out several dresses online and even gave the style numbers ahead of time. None of them there and then only was allowed to try on 2 dresses. All the others she was told wouldn't fit her and were too small and didn't even let her try. She's a size 4/6. If the supply for dresses wasn't so bad right now I would have walked out right then, but she loved the dress she found. It had definitely been tried on several times. read more

Today's visit to this store was one of the oddest (in a bad way) customer service experiences I have ever encountered. My daughter and I drove almost two hours to shop for prom dresses. A petite older woman (the owner perhaps) "greeted" us (and I use the term greeted generously) and asked how she could help. I said that we were looking for a pink dress in a 14 to 16. The woman looked at my daughter for a while and said, "well she is definitely larger than a that". Given that my daughter has bought several gowns for pageants, proms and weddings over the past few years, I am very aware of what size she wears in formal wear. I also have a vested interest in not wasting my own time so would not have asked to try on dresses that were too small for her. Even if she thought I did not know what size my daughter wore, perhaps showing up the 14 or 16s then mentioning that they tend to run small would have been more appropriate than fat shaming my teenage daughter. The women then told me that she had no pink dresses in large sizes. I was so taken aback by her comment about my daughter's size that we just ok, thank you and left. After we looked around Annapolis for an hour or so, I asked my daughter if she wanted to go back to try again to see what they had in her size. She said sure. This time when we went in, an older man was at the counter. I asked if he might point us to the size 14/16 dresses. He told us that they were in the back but that they operate by appointment only (the store was not anymore crowded then when we had been there previously. At this point though, I realized I did not want to give these people over $500 after being rude and making horrid remards to teen girls. I don't recommend this place at all. I arrived for my 1:00 appointment early. We began trying on dresses at 1:45. Not a big deal it's prom season. As my daughter is trying on dresses the female owner wouldn't allow my daughter to try on a dress a second time. I watched other girls put a dress on more than once. I asked her why are you rushing only me we just got back here and some people had been back there before me. She told me people were waiting and took the dress a said "this is my dress I can do what I want." The husband was extremely knowledgeable and attentive to my daughter, and so sweet to my nieces who came along to watch their big cousin try on dresses. I came in here today with my family to purchase a prom dress. The owners of this store were incredibly kind, patient, attentive and wanted to see me confident and happy with what I wore. Since it's prom season they were understandably busy and they handled them selves and the other costumers incredibly. I was assisted a lot by Kendyal- I believe that's how you spell her name. She was also a high school student but her knowledge and good advice made me feel so comfortable. So did the owner too, it can be weird having to be basically naked infront of strangers but I sincerely felt so comfortable. I walked out with a surprisingly affordable dress from a double secret closet. I felt like a princess and I can't wait for prom thank you for the confidence and great service Treasure Island. They have beautiful displays but most of the dresses they have are for average-sizes, not providing much range for a variety of body types. The previous reviews are honest and not over-exaggerating. The owners are not accommodating to customers. There was someone getting fitted but the service seemed slow. So today I went with my sister to help find a prom dress and it was the worst experience ever!!! First the store is so small and claustrophobic, there's dresses every where with no order or anything. They don't let you hold the dresses, they only allow you to try on one dress that's on a mannequin, and they stereotype you. The lady who was helping us was so rude, she did not let my sister try on her dress if we were not going to buy it that day. I also was not able to take pics and send to my mom who was at the hospital with my grandma at the time and could not be with us, but she needed her approval. I've never been to a place with this many rules, this many problems with such horrible customer service. I am not one to write reviews unless it's a positive one. However after our experience here; I felt I must. My daughter and I had an appointment scheduled this past Saturday. First of all, you must have an appointment, which is great. However, no sooner were we in the store, the owner allowed a couple walk ins which immediately overwhelmed her. She was the only one working. My daughter was allowed to try on 5 dresses. She loved one but not the color. I asked about ordering one. We were told there was no way to order one, most dress makers are backed up, no fabric, etc; she was not about to check either. She didn't offer any other help or suggestions. When I asked if we could make another appointment; she said no, they are booked through March, unless my daughter was interested in one of the dresses then she could squeeze us in on Monday (today)! 5 dresses... we looked at 5. My daughter wanted to try on the one dress again... however she was told NO, you're not allowed to try on ANY dress more than once; you may stretch it out! Nor was she permitted to try on more than 1 dress from a mannequin! No pictures were permitted either... it was UNBELIEVABLE! You cannot make this up. Needless to say HAD we found the perfect dress there was no way we would have ever purchased it from here. I've never had a store owner try harder to NOT sell us anything in my life. Rude is being kind. We were not the only ones she was being rude too either. I overheard another customer asking if they had to make another appointment to try on more than one dress on a mannequin (I assume she overheard the owner telling my daughter that). The owner explained they are the very expensive dresses...so just one. I'm sorry, what?!?! Thankfully we found Claire's outside of Wilmington, DE!! Well worth the 90 min drive... large selection, EXCELLENT customer service... EXACTLY what you would expect a prom dress shopping experience to be... we found & purchased my daughter's dream dress today! I am incredibly disappointed with our experience at Treasure Island and although they seemed to have a decent selection... it didn't matter. Treasure Island may have a beautiful selection but the stores close quarters and bagged dresses make it extremely difficult to shift through to find your perfect dress. Additionally, minors are not allowed to try on or purchases dresses without their parent accompanying them. I did not have this issue because I am 18, however I did not end up trying on a dress in the end because the sizes were not labeled and it was unclear what would fit. read more

I came here and felt like absolute family and I fell in love with the last dress I tried on the owner came up to me and held my dress together where it was a little big (little fix no problem) and told me your smiling you should smile more your absolutely beautiful. The whole time I was told how beautiful the dress looked on me and how stunning I was the women paid attention to my every need even when they were busy. We saw people talk to them rudely because of wait time or some other issue they had but they kept doing their job amazingly I have not met sweeter people in my life and they told me they wanted pictures of me in my dress on my big day I cannot stress enough how great this place was even though I started prom shopping a little late they were eager to help me the place is clean and tidy and have wonderful staff I 100% recommend you will be treated so kindly and wonderfully they have beautiful dresses for your daughter or you to wear! This was only my second time searching for a prom dress for my daughter but the experience in this shop was much to be desired. I would like to say they had a wide selection of dresses not in a variety of sizes, you would have to order it most likely and the store is small. With that said here are my issues: First you can only try on 5 dresses. Second the dressing rooms were sheets put up in corners, 1 mirror in common area. Third, very unorganized, we found a dress we liked but they couldn't find it after my daughter tried it on. They would only bring one dress at a time then when we gave it back to try on the another one it was lost, very CHAOTIC. Fifth, the staff/owners were not helpful, became rude when we were trying to find the dress we liked. Sixth, you can't take a picture. It would have been helpful to show the staff the dress we likes so they could find it. I took photos at another store and showed the Treasure Island staff the dress we were looking for. Photo's are a very helpful buying tool. Overall, go if you have patience, not claustrophobic and take a pen and paper to write down the number of the dresses you likes because that is the only way you will be able to remember what you tried on. read more
