For every $1 you spend, you get one point. Points move you up the rank and earn you discount coupons off your purchase. According to the company, Ollie's Army get you "good stuff...even cheaper". Currently there are 408 stores in 28 states, several of which are in Florida. Ollie's purchases company liquidations, overstocks, and older items that haven't sold, and resells them in their stores for a discount. You can expect to see name brand items. Ollie's sells a little of everything, cleaning supplies, garden items, books, toys, food, health and beauty, automotive, holiday decorations, home improvements, electronics, flooring, housewares, and so much more. I had previously shopped in the West Palm Beach and Delray stores and they were great for stocking up on hurricane supplies. Ollie's always has a ton of inexpensive K-cups and cheap and unusual snacks. I usually grab some candy as incentives for the kids at school. On this trip I found the snack size bags I use to pack portion controlled snacks for my school lunches. We spent $3,155.14 on a high-end dresser from Baer's Furniture, and it has been a nightmare that resulted in physical injury.The manufacturer used incredibly weak, under-engineered drawer slides. The factory defect is so bad that the main drawer sags, bends, and rubs against the frame EVEN WHEN IT IS COMPLETELY EMPTY. Because the hardware cannot support the weight of its own wood, it completely slipped its tracks and fell directly onto my wife's foot.When we took them to court, Baer's Furniture hired corporate representatives to hide behind a 1-year warranty technicality. They actually tried to blame our third-party movers--even though the unit was professionally wrapped in heavy blankets, and even though the drawer fails under zero load without a single piece of clothing inside it.The judge even acknowledged he was bound by the strict timeline of the law, meaning Baer's won purely on a calendar date--not on quality, safety, or fairness.Baer's Furniture would rather protect their profit margins with fine print than stand behind the safety of their products. If you value your hard-earned money and your family's physical safety, buy your furniture somewhere else. They sell cheap, loose-tolerance engineering at luxury prices and will abandon you the second the clock runs out.
