I usually go for tortas (carnitas, steak, or al pastor which is seasoned chopped pork) . With everything including pineapple, jalapeños, and extra green sauce. I'm told that the red sauce can be a little hot. I like it, but prefer the flavor of the green sauce. In the summer I love Aguas frescas. Pineapple is my favorite and they make a delicious example here. I got hooked on tortas honestly. Back when the world was a kinder place, a bunch of GIs would go to Ciudad Juarez on weekends. Partly because we weren't old enough to drink on our side of the Rio Grande. Fresh out of the combat zone, I would drink enough to believe that I could dance. There were three fun girls. Kayra, Kenya, and Keira. Blondes. They had their own money, but indulged me to buy the occasional drink or late night meal. They would navigate the back streets to the best places that I'd never be able to find on my own. Always tortas. I think they were trying to sober me up. Turns out that would take another 20+ years. El Lagunero takes me back a few decades in the best kind of way. I'm still in touch with most of the guys that served together then. I hope they enjoy a good torta from time to time.

I was messaged 4+ times as a reminder to pay deposit (which I paid quickly and on time), and then never heard from them again. Not after I reached out on march 21st, April 14th, or April 15th via multiple different communication methods. 2.) they showed up TWO HOURS LATE. I wasn't even going to say anything until the next fiasco started. 3.) they showed up with LESS THAN HALF of the food needed to feed my guests. I messaged and confirmed on March 7th that I needed 65 guests fed. On march 21st I again reminded them of final guest count. They showed up with enough to feed 35, and their only response to me was "well, we had 3 events before you" as if that makes my $$ or event any less important? 4.) the general comments and rudeness to my guests was absolutely unacceptable. I was frustrated but not mean or rude to the staff, but my guests felt extremely uncomfortable when the comments made by their staff about me and my husband/parents. Extremely unprofessional. The ONLY positives were that they did apologize (and offer a refund) and the food was okay. The lack of communication, general behavior, and lack of over all professionalism really impacted my rehearsal dinner. Thankfully another caterer could step up.
