Also the Ariat corporate customer service is just as bad if not worse than Sprint was back in its operating days.

I've tried for years to help my wife see that not all denim jeans are worthy of the name "Levi," but it's a battle I continue to lose. Anyway, we found ourselves in the Traverse Mountain Outlets yesterday and my wife wanted a new pair of denim jeans. We saw the Levi store, and went in. We were immediately greeted by a cheerful employee and when we said we were looking for shorts, she didn't skip a beat and asked "men's or women's sizes?" I loved that she didn't assume anytime. My wife wears men's pants and shorts almost exclusively and hates when people assume otherwise. It wasn't long before we had a few pair that my wife wanted to try on. We were hesitant, not knowing if dressing rooms were open yet-you know, Covid and all. Another employee noticed our hesitation and invited us to pick any room and go ahead and try them on. We ended up leaving with a couple pair of perfectly fitting Levi's. (I can call them that because they actually are Levi brand.) The price was a little steep-a little over 100 dollars for two pair. But from what I know about the brand, they should last awhile.

My husband wound up renting a wedgewood blue tux (it looked like a suit to me: no strip of satin down the pants legs, no satin lapels, no cummerbund) that he wore with a pale pink shirt and a navy tie. It looked amazing: fun for a Spring wedding. Chris took my husband's measurements at our first appointment, but when the tux arrived (2 weeks before the wedding), the arms were WAY too long. No problem! We just went back down to Nordstrom's, they altered, and Black Tux credited $15 towards the alteration cost. The arms were so off, I asked Nordstrom to write off the additional $15 since I am a very regular Nordstrom shopper, and they did. Love Nordstrom's! I would have preferred that the arms had been correct, since we'd measured before ordering, but Black Tux and Nordstrom's were great to work with on the alteration. Since my husband never needs a suit in his daily life, it was fun for him to rent a fun colored tux/suit. Return was so easy - back into the box it came in, pre-paid label already on it, under the original mailing label. Highly recommend if you want to try a fun tux or suit for an occasion. I've been a loyal customer here or over ten years. Over twenty suits ordered along with many belts…read moreand dress shirts. The level of service has dropped off considerably and customer service and business practices at this location are now shady at best. Manager engages in bait and switch practices and sales associates are either new, incompetent or shady as well. I went in last week to purchase a belt and specifically inquired about black Friday deals on custom suits. The sales rep told me they would be 30% off for black Friday and that sale would start on Wednesday the night before thanksgiving. I go into the store on black Friday. I confirmed with the sales associate that the suits were 30% off and proceeded to take measurements and get fitted for four suits. When I go to check out the discount is not present. Sales associate checked with manager and he said there was no sale on the custom suits. I told him I had specifically confirmed the sale on custom suits with two different sales associates on two separate days. Dude could care less and told me to go pound sand in his polite manager way. Steer clear of this location. There are plenty of other options around the valley or online with trained associates and managers who don't routinely engage with bait and switch practices.

How did I not have a set of pun cards before? It boggles the mind. So with them in my hands, I knew I had to get them. Their jewelry is super on trend, and totally delightful. Their home stuff is nice. And who doesn't need a book of Craigslist Missed Connections poetry? I mean, these are the items that fill in the blanks. I haven't shopped a place like this in a while.
