They don't service any vehicle related services, including car registration, etc. You have to go to the airport location

Nothing like turning 65 and applying for a tax deferral on future homeowners taxes. October -…read moreNovember (due to tax roll time) is the time you need to come to this office for that option not sooner. You'll need your property tax number and your Texas ID. I came in during the lunch hour on a Friday and was surprised to be the only one in line, but that can't be said for the other side of the building which handles all the automobile related taxes. Once inside, you sign your name into the kiosk along with your phone number and wait for a text which lets you know when you are called. The process was surprisingly easy where I just signed and dated a form which was then notaized on the spot. I was in and out in about 10 minutes. Definitely looking forward to not paying property taxes this year and the years following. That tax burden will fall on those who inherit the property. 5 informative photos.

Once I got my number the wait was only about 25 minutes. I have been here before when it was 4 hours so I guess I won. They have free WiFi and plenty of seating most days. You have to get a number and if you scan QR code it will text you when ready. The staff are kinda friendly and seem overworked. I understand with people cutting line and asking questions that are posted or should be known. Overall, better than it used to be but I will try and avoid govt offices if possible

The rotunda literally leaves one speechless. The exquisite marble floors, chandeliers bearing the Texas Star and State Seals are a sight to behold. This is an active government building. I cannot emphasize enough how worthwhile a visit is to this spectacular ode and landmark of the history of the Lone Star State. Please visit when you're in Austin. You will not regret it!

The building is surrounded by gorgeous greenery, parks, and walking pavements. Whole building is super secured with state troopers standing around with their rifles. It was free to enter the building. They also had free guided tours on scheduled times. There were lots of portraits of previous governors and state politicians. The central dome was the most impressive part of the building. Each of the four floors had different departments like the Senate floor, the Representatives floor, the Supreme Court and the Appeals Court. We spent over an hour exploring the building. Staff members were very welcoming and friendly. Overall a wonderful historical site to visit.

I was clueless about it but after waiting for a resolution for over 2 months I called the main number and was routed to her. She jumped on the issue and had a resolution within a few hours. PUBLIC WARNING: Serious Concerns About Accountability at the Texas Workforce Commission Civil…read moreRights Division My experience with the Texas Workforce Commission Civil Rights Division has seriously undermined my confidence in the agency's handling of disability-related housing discrimination complaints. I am a person with disabilities facing significant medical challenges, including Stage IV metastatic cancer and congenital bilateral hip dysplasia. I sought assistance through the civil rights complaint process because I believed my disability-related housing accommodation concerns deserved a thorough, impartial investigation. Instead, I am left questioning whether the process gave my evidence the consideration it deserved. The individuals whose handling of this matter I am asking the public and the agency to examine are Investigator Donje' Penn, Investigator William K. Cooper, Investigator Lewis, identified to me as a director, and Investigator Wayne Butterbrodt. I am identifying these individuals in connection with my experience and my request for accountability, not asserting that any individual has been found guilty of misconduct. I submitted a detailed rebuttal challenging the investigation's reasoning and explaining why the separate responsibilities of the housing authorities and property-related respondents needed to be examined individually. Approximately one hour after I submitted my rebuttal, Investigator Penn informed me that my case was closed. The agency issued a Determination of No Reasonable Cause. One hour is an extraordinarily short interval in which to raise questions about whether a detailed rebuttal received meaningful consideration. I cannot know what internal review occurred, which is precisely why I am requesting answers, the Final Investigative Report, and clarification of how my evidence was handled. My concerns include: - Whether my rebuttal and supporting evidence were meaningfully reviewed before the decision was finalized. - Whether the investigation adequately addressed the individual conduct and responsibilities of the respondents. - Whether the determination fairly addressed the disability-related accommodation issues I raised. - Whether the agency's process provides meaningful transparency and accountability when a complainant challenges an investigation's conclusions. When a civil rights agency closes a complaint without resolving the questions a complainant believes are central to the evidence, public confidence suffers. People with disabilities should not have to wonder whether their complaints received a genuine and impartial review. I am deeply concerned about institutional accountability and the possibility that serious procedural failures are being overlooked. I believe these concerns warrant scrutiny. I am not presenting corruption as an established fact; I am calling for transparency, answers, and an independent assessment of the process. I am requesting the investigative record so the handling of my case can be evaluated against the actual evidence and timeline. Civil rights protections mean little if people cannot have confidence in how complaints are investigated. Public agencies must answer legitimate questions, explain their decisions, and demonstrate that every complainant's evidence is taken seriously. The public deserves transparency. Complainants deserve accountability. And people with disabilities deserve a fair process.
