Let me start by saying that air travel is a large part of my job. I typically go for longer…read moreperiods of at least 2-weeks, sometimes months. For the last 15 years, I have travelled with 2 large checked bags; one with suits, "work" shoes/clothes, and other personal items you would need on a long trip, the other with everyday clothes, work equipment, and any miscellaneous overflow. As such, these bags always exceed the 50lb. limit. I regularly refer to them as "The Evil Twins" or "Thing 1 and Thing 2"... always troublesome. In the past, I had looked for hard-side polycarb composite bags for durability and content protection (particularly the equipment which a soft-sided bag just could not protect). Never wanting to spend much on bags that were going to be abused no matter what, I eventually settled on a Traveler's Choice Tasmania set with two 29" bags serving as "The Twins". I replaced each one with the same bag once over the years as they were eventually beaten up by baggage handlers unable to properly deal with the weight, slamming them down on their wheels. The wheels were never great to begin with; always difficult to roll together on airport terrazzo and a downright burden to pull down carpeted hotel hallways. This was always made worse when they were slammed down, breaking the bond that solidly held the wheel to the case. To their credit, they never broke off, but they were never right after that. To their discredit, they were never particularly light or maneuverable even when new. Towards the end of last year, I got a great new job with an amazing company. As my travels would continue and the twins were tired and ready to re-tire, I decided to invest in new bags. I did not want to spend a fortune (I just can't see pulling the trigger on two $1000 bags, no matter how awesome), but wanted something more durable, as large as or larger, hopefully lighter, and, most importantly, good wheels. Please, sweet gods of travel, good wheels. I decided I needed the advice of a professional. I had passed by Bronx Luggage many times over the years thinking "Why are luggage stores still around? Why don't people just order luggage from Amazon?" You may be reading this because you have thought the same things. I'm about to answer those questions (which now seem stupid), but I digress.... So I thought; "I'll go in, give them the story (that I just told you all), and listen to what they have to say." I went in skeptical. I told the man my reasons and requirements, and he began to go over my options and selections. I was already starting to be swayed when Marty joined in with additional suggestions. Wow. He explained that for a little bit more, I could have Bric's B/Y Ulisse bags. Made of polypropylene, they're LIGHTER, bigger, more durable, and, the kicker... great wheels. Italian-made quality. Winner. Yeah, you can find these bags on Amazon. You can also find them in places like Bloomingdales and Nordstrom. No matter, because of their brand, these bags are the same price WHEREVER you buy them. But trust me when I tell you they made it worth my while to purchase them from Bronx Luggage Store. I left with new twins and a new outlook on Bronx Luggage Store. Places like these exist BECAUSE of people like Marty. Personable, helpful, but most of all, knowledgeable. I can talk to dozens of colleagues and countless people that travel. How many have personal experience with the sheer number of brands and options that Marty has? Want know which bags get returned for what reasons and which fit your travel needs the best? Ask them. After 30+ years in the business, they've probably handled it before (and then some). But more than all of that, in this day and age of superstores, websites that sell EVERYTHING, AI suggestions, return policies, phone-routed customer service, on hold, enter a callback number, leave a voicemail.... It's a blessing to be able to deal with real people. Try them, you won't be sorry. Posting a pic of the new twins after their latest excursion.

NOTE: Employees and management suffer from ALCS syndrome. See next to last paragraph…read more This is not a review of their numerous offerings of overpriced luggage. It is based on two encounters, each for the same item. My initial experience with this store was calling them on the telephone. I googled for their number, 561-447-4315 - and phoned at 11:55 AM. The call went into voice mail. I did not leave a message. I called again, about an hour later, and the call again went into voice mail. I again did not leave a message. "Why not?", all my Yelp buddies may be asking, and the answer makes sense to me: The voice mail picked up, but there was no identifying information of what business I had reached. No recording such as "You have reached Bag 'n Baggage, we are helping others right now, please leave your name and number and we will..." So, it's my protocol not to leave my name and number randomly on answering units if I am not certain what number/person I have reached. I then checked YELP for their listing, wondering if I had, perhaps, reached an incorrect number. Nope, the number was as listed. I was planning on going to the Town Center Mall later in the day, and figured I would just stop by the store and see what's up. I arrived around 5 PM, and the store was empty, with two sales staff working at what appeared to be inventory management. Neither greeted us. I proactively inquired about the specific item I wanted - a DIGITAL LUGGAGE SCALE - and one of the staff showed me the various choices - if I recall, only two options. She explained which one she thought was better, and it was the one that I had in mind [its quite ultra uber] when I was considering my purchase, so I bought one of the two they had in stock. I then asked if their phone system was working, and showed her my iPhone, with the outgoing calls to her number earlier in the day, making sure I had dialed the correct number. She replied "oh yes, the phone is working, we were busy with inventory at that time, did you leave a message?", and I explained why I had not left one. She looked at me in an odd manner, so odd, that I snapped at her, and said "look, if I call what I believe to be a business and the business does not identify itself in its outgoing message, I will NOT leave a message". She still looked at me in an odd manner. BTW, this was Janeen T., the MANAGER. I finalized my purchase, and suggested to her that she consider adding an outgoing message to her phone system. And she said "I'll look into that." After I showed my friend Marsha my new cool digital electronic luggage scale, and asked her if she had a device to weigh her luggage, she said "no, can I use yours?", and I replied "no, the logistics on that would not work, I'll go buy you your own". I called the store on May 16, to ask them to put aside the one remaining device they had in stock, and no one answered the phone. And there was still no outgoing message. This time, I LEFT A MESSAGE, ASKING THAT THEY HOLD ASIDE THE LUGGAGE SCALE. I went to the store later that day, and was served by Jack. I asked him if he was there earlier, telling him what time I called, that the phone was not answered, and that I left a message. He said "oh, I must have been busy, and I haven't had time to check the phone for messages." [This store never looks real busy] Welcome to South Florida, where the poor level of customer service is pandemic. This establishment's staff and management suffer from ALCSS - Acute Lack of Common Sense Syndrome. It is a dangerous condition, be careful you do not catch this syndrome. As an aside, this ultra uber scale is a BALANZZA MINI DIGITAL LUGGAE SCALE, priced at $21.99. You can purchase it on Amazon.com for $15.32, and if you are a Prime Member, it ships free in 2 days. And Amazon's Customer service is awesome!

I ordered a Hartmann piece from them around Thanksgiving as on the website it said the item was in stock and this was something my mother had mentioned wanting. I proceeded to wait until two weeks before Christmas only for them to tell me that they did not have the luggage I ordered and that they did not know when they would receive the shipment. They offered to send me a free luggage tag so that I could have something to give my mother on Christmas day and I said that was fine (although I was not happy about it). I have since still not received my order and they still do not know when the shipment will come in so I told them to cancel my order as it had been almost 3months since I placed the order and they cannot give me an estimate on when it would arrive. They proceeded to email me back that they would cancel my order and charge me for the luggage tag they sent as a replacement gift. Not only did they almost ruin Christmas for my mother as I had to go buy her something last minute but now that they have been the biggest inconvenience to me they are going to charge me for a cheap luggage tag that they sent as an apology... I would advise against ordering from them but if you do be aware that you could be waiting MONTHS for your order and they are less than helpful with providing an accurate arrival date

What a great Marshall's! What a find!…read moreI like this brand of store, I like browsing thru clothes to see if I'll find some treasure: but this location was really something else! First it's right off the turnpike, so if I ever find myself near the area I will be happy to stop by... and then the abundance of good quality shirts and clothes made this unplanned stop quite a thrill! I stopped by with a friend I had met for lunch at the Peruvian restaurant next door (Embarcadero 41) and we just wanted to browse as the delicious food worked its way to our tummy's... well we both walked out with a couple (or 4) new blouses because the variety available and the great quality made it awesome. I guess since it's in Boca, they curate the merchandise to the more upscale area..: so I'm def going to remember this and do the drive up when I'm need of some new items to refresh my wardrobe. To note: their assortment of purses was not on par with the clothes. We were disappointed there... nothing is perfect! But YES to this Marshall's! Enjoy!

It's like a treasure hunt, you never know what you'll find and sometimes you will find thing you never thought you needed! The home goods department is always good. I bought some nice calphalon pans for under $20 and they just received all the Christmas goods. Aisles and aisles of beautiful decorations and a nice selection of Hanukkah decor too. Long lines on the weekends. Best time to shop is late in the afternoon or early evening.

Italy has been on my bucket list for quite a while now. Then to top it off I have inboxed several of the other Yelpers who left 5 star reviews and guess what? Not a single person had to pay any fees upfront. Some of my luggage is getting old; like really, really old. It was made in the days before we had…read moreinvented the luggage wheels so it's difficult carry (you use to have the Red Caps handle it) and back when every place and every airline liked to adorn it with a so Vernier or some other sticker. It's lasted through travels all over the world, acted as my life preserver when a ship on the Amazon overturned and is now a visually historic standout of times gone by. I've included a picture of it. So, I stopped by Shine Bags & Luggage in the Coral Ridge Mall. Shine Bags has been here for years and I've bought little things like backpacks from them previously. It's spotlessly clean and has bright lighting making your selection easy. Most everything in this store is of quality meaning meant to last. It's more expensive than the knockoffs found at the Swap Shop but worth it if you don't want to see your underwear, shirts and clothing appear on the luggage turnstyle prior to the remains of your fallen apart suitcase. As I've always used Zero-Halliburton Aluminum, I'm rather loath to change but now with them priced at $950, I might be just as well off with a new Samsonite carbon fiber that saw here for around $290. Anyway the selection a Shine Bags is really good with everything of good enough in quality for most travelers. Fortunately they have bags that are unique in appearance so you won't get stuck sorting through all those black American Tourister bags searching for your own or having yours taken by mistake. Really, don't buy the typical all black soft American Tourister bag or you'll have a devil of a time finding amongst all of the others.

So the first thing I noticed the for a relatively small store, it's pretty jammed packed with stuff. As in the title, the store has luggage and bags. The bags are hung along the back wall and the luggage was everywhere else. I kind of thought the prices were reasonable. The downside for me is the quality. Now I took a look at one, tried to unzip it and when I was done the zipper looked like it was going to break already, without any clothing on it. That's not going to last at all if you check it at the airport. I noticed most bags were around $35-$60 generally. Some bags looked like they'd be alright to travel with, but they were all names I'd never heard of before. Not saying that's good or bad, but I was not familiar with any of the suitcase brands. Would I get a bag here? Maybe. It depends on if I was looking for something long-lasting or not. If I'm looking for something to last a lifetime, then no way. If I'm looking for something cheap(ish) in both quality and price, then sure, why not?
