Well, parking is a nightmare. We arrived on the doorstep on the hotel and nearly headed into the bus depot as we thought there must be parking there..lol! There are two parking sites nearby, one is private and the other closes at stupid o'clock. We ended up driving around to The Chimes multi storey car park where you can park free from 6pm at night until 6am in the morning. Then, its £1 an hour there after.
Once you finally walk through the shopping centre and the train station, the hotel is directly outside the bus station. It is a bit weird getting the lift to the second floor to reception, but the rooms are comfortable enough. Pity about the 'bathless' bathroom...I was so looking forward to a hot bath.
The hotel is very handy for the local shops. The Pavilion and The Chimes, within easy walking distance. Take a look down Windsor Street for some nice pubs. read more
