Breakfast buffet (included if you're a member and book online)
Mindy T.

First things first. If you're planning to stay here, sign up to be a member and book directly online to get free breakfast! Their breakfast will NOT disappoint. I actually looked forward to it every morning! There's a rotating dish but for the most part, the breakfast buffet had sausages, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, bread, butter, fruits, cheeses, and cold cuts. This hotel was in the perfect location for our first time to London. It's close to both the Victoria Station and Victoria Coach Station. This made it sooo convenient because we took the National Express from Heathrow to the Victoria Coach Station. We stayed in three different rooms here and they varied greatly. Our first room was tiny with barely any room to move. I believe it was the standard double room. It was livable and we were only going to stay for 2 nights so it wasn't a big deal. However, our TV didn't turn on so we got moved and upgraded to the executive king room which was obviously way bigger and nicer. We came back a week later and go the deluxe double room which was similar to the standard room, but with plenty of space to move around. Most of the staff here are super helpful and friendly. Our issues were addressed quickly and we felt so appreciated. The hotel itself is a little old and it's not the most beautiful hotel, but the breakfast and hospitality really make up for that.

The original details from its origins as a railway hotel are quite cool.

It's funny. We stayed here twice, a week apart (beginning and end of our vacation), and it was like we stayed in two different hotels. Our first stay had a gorgeous, giant king room in the main building that was really nicely appointed and very clean. The bathroom was modern, there was a Nespresso machine, and everything was luxurious. We had some kind of weird executive package that granted us access to the executive suite as well - free soft drinks, tea, and coffee, and snacks. The only con was the traffic noise off Buckingham Palace Road. A week later, we checked into a two-twin room in the wing, not the main building. The room was tiny, not particularly clean (mold in the bathroom and dirt on the blankets), and had none of the nice perks of the other room. However, it is incredibly quiet, with no traffic noise at all. In both instances, the staff were incredibly nice and friendly. The front desk was kind of slow, but all others were helpful and quickly addressed our (few) problems. And to be honest, the location can't be beat - next to the train and underground and a few minute walk to the coach station. I'd probably stay here again, but make sure to get a room in the main building.

What a beautiful hotel. The location was absolutely perfect. Very close to the Victoria station for trains and underground access. The staff was very friendly at check in as well as the concierge staff that we encountered. We didn't eat at the hotel but the menu did look like it had some great options. We'd definitely stay here again when traveling through London

I stayed at the Grosvenor a few days for a business trip. The hotel lobby is quite nice with its chandelier, and the staff are pretty helpful. The room I got was actually quite small. I'm from the States though so I probably have different hotel standards. There was enough room for a bed and a desk, and that was about it. Definitely no room for a small sofa at all. The bathroom was spacious but they had this annoying thing where the bathtub only had a partial glass door. The showerhead is straight down but there's still some water splashback. The hotel is also connected to the VIctoria train station. You don't even have to go outside to get to the train station which was very convenient.

I have to base this on price. 269e for my small double room in a labrinth of lifts and stairs is a no. The chain hotels are much better and the rooms larger. I had stains on bed and on bathroom mirror. The standard isn't acceptable and location will not bridge this gap.. . breakfast not included

We had 2 rooms reserved here during our recent visit to London. It was very convenient and reasonably priced when booked through the AMEX travel site. What makes this hotel even more attractive is that it is centrally located in London and even has an entrance in the mall area of the Victoria Underground Station. This proved very convenient for our stay as we were in and out of the Underground several times a day. The staff from the check in clerk to the concierge were very helpful and accomodating as we were even allowed an early check in around 11am after a red eye flight from the US. The rooms were recently renovated yet very small and on the tight side. This is to be expected of a London hotel and the historic nature of the building. On the other hand the bathrooms were very spacious and luxurious. They even had heated floors and spa like tubs and rainfall shower heads, which was a pleasant surprise.

Very nice hotel right in the heart of London! When seeing The Grosvenor on the outside it strikes as this great majestic Victorian building. Inside it's much the same; great lobby, stairs and halls. The rooms are recently renovated and have this contemporary luxury feel to them. Not much different are the, small but suffice, gym and the bars and restaurants the hotel boasts. But probably the best thing about this hotel is it's location! Right on top (yes, actually on top) of London's Victoria Station. This means 1 minute access to thee underground lines and a whole lot of bus and train connections. The hotel even has a secret passageway right from the lobby into the station concours. Great hotel for business but even better for leisure! All of London within reach! Tip; Arrive at, or depart from Gatwick? Take the Gatwick-Express to or from Victoria Station. Very luxurious train that will get you there in no time at all. Tip 2 (yes, I'm feeling generous); Don't fancy dinner at the hotel. Go to "About Thyme" at Wilton Road. Great little place with amazing staff and dito food!

We decided to book here because it looked good and although it was a bit expensive we thought it would be worth it.. The moment we stood into the hotel we loved it. The decor was stunning, the flower arrangement in the lobby was to die for. One thing that let them down was reception was manned by one woman and she was taking a while to process everything. We finally got settled in and checked in. Although the hotel looks amazing, it is like a maze. There was hundreds of stairs and several lifts and we had to use both various times just to get to our room. The room was stunning, bright and inviting. One thing was a miss though, well several things actually. There was only one toilet roll in the room and no bath mat for the bath to have a shower with. We tried to phone reception but no answer, we decided to phone the concierge instead who sorted the issue for us. We got ready and left the hotel to go and watch a show, on the way out however had to ask for some coffee & milk to be taken to the room as there wasn't any, just a kettle! Safe to say once we got back to the room that night it was all there. If you are a late sleeper than I am sorry. The TV hardly worked and when it did the picture was terrible and fuzzy! Also quiet as anything which isn't good when situated next to a train station, which was the only thing you could see from the window! Maybe a bit too pricy for what you get but amazing location.

I beg of you, STAY in the Executive King Room and thank me later. This suite was enormous, luxurious and was the perfect way to experience London. The entire hotel has a history worth learning about and is glamorous all around. Built right over Victoria Station, it's the very definition of LOCATION. The staff was amazing and didn't skip a beat. They all made our stay so memorable and wonderful, I honestly can't wait to return. No detail in this hotel is overlooked, it's simply a breathtaking property. The ROOM - Executive King Suite Before visiting I was reading reviews about how small the rooms are. While that may be true for the base room, the executive room is gorgeous and spacious. The rate is not inconceivably different, so I would suggest an upgrade. Our corner room looked out one way onto a busy street, and the other way over a small park. The view was beautiful and made us feel like we were in the heart of the city. The bathroom was so lavish I couldn't believe my eyes! It even had a clawfoot bathtub and a fogged window that let in beautiful natural light. (Also, props on the amazing quality of the toilet paper! Sounds strange to mention, but it shows you they don't spare any expense on guest experience!) The bedroom was huge and featured a separate sitting area with table, coffee/tea, desk, and large wardrobe. Tall ceilings and long windows with lovely curtains made the room feel very royal. The FOOD We were busy touring around London, so we didn't eat too many times at the hotel, but each time was great! The late night room service came quickly and was good quality, breakfast was very impressive, and even the executive lounge always had something nice to nibble on. The LOCATION Directly though a door in the lobby and down a few steps, you will find yourself in the middle of Victoria Station. The Grosvenor is literally the perfect location to get around London from. Many amazing attractions can also be seen on foot, just a short walk from the hotel, like: Buckingham Palace, Victoria Palace Theatre, St. James Park, Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament, and Sloane Square. Ask the staff to explain the history of the hotel to you, it's all very interesting! I cannot say enough good things about this hotel, the style, the rooms, the staff and the location. I couldn't have imagined staying anywhere that would have been better then the Grosvenor! (One of my life goals is to return and stay in the Cora Pearl Suite...omg!) I am sure this will be the only London hotel I will book from here on out!

Too many stairs and not enough staff for assistance with bags. Lifts don't service every floor. Real hassle. Room is OK. AC works well.

The Ampersand Hotel - Jurassic Afternoon Tea

Our family of four with kids ages 9 and 10 booked this specifically for the kids while we were in…read moreLondon, and it ended up being one of the more unique and memorable experiences of the trip. We were looking for something fun and different from a traditional afternoon tea, and this definitely leaned more interactive than expected. Arrival and First Impressions Reservations are important, and when we arrived the space was already filled with families. The setting feels polished but still very welcoming for kids, which is not always the case with afternoon tea in London. Service was excellent from the start, organized without feeling too formal, and the overall atmosphere had a fun, lively energy. The Highlights The experience is built around science themed trays filled with a mix of sweet and savory items. The kids immediately locked into the interactive elements, especially the build your own strawberry lemonade with different colored syrups, which turned into more of a mini experiment than just a drink. They also had cake pops, scones, and small PB and J sandwiches, all very approachable and fun. One of the better touches was a small take home item, a dinosaur themed tin, which the kids treated like a prize from the experience. It added to the overall feeling that this was designed with kids in mind. The adult trays had a similar variety with finger sandwiches, pastries, custards, and scones. Everything was solid and there was plenty to try. Being able to request more of anything you liked helped balance things out a bit and made it feel less restrictive for the price. The Challenges The biggest drawback is the cost. For a family of four it came out to around 350 USD, which is a significant spend for what is essentially afternoon tea. It leans more toward a themed experience than a traditional tea service, so if you are expecting something quiet and refined, this may not be the right fit. Final Thoughts This is one of those experiences that works really well if you go in with the right expectations. It is interactive, a little chaotic in a good way, and clearly designed for families more than traditional tea purists. We would not rush back and I removed a star due to the price, but we are glad we did it once because the kids genuinely loved it and still talk about it. If you are looking for something unique and are comfortable with the cost, it is worth it for the experience, though the value depends on how much you lean into the interactive side.

Came here for the science high tea. Service was quick to seat me. This is an interactive high tea…read moreso the first part was the fizzy lemonade which included water and lemon with the blue liquid in the pipette as liquid sugar and a packet of baking soda with citric acid, yellow was mango and red is strawberry puree. The high tea tiered desserts were pretty but too sweet for me. Did like the pipette injected into the macaron. Scones were good. It came with clotted cream, jam AND a toothpaste tube of lemon curd mixed with sweetened condensed milk. Loved the oreo bit dirt with the shortbread with a bone fossil imprint on the bottom of the tin. Finished off with chocolate ice cream.

My two girlfriends and I rented a triple room and it was roomy enough for us, all of our luggage and towers of shopping bags. We were only given one key, and you have to be buzzed in for safety reasons after 10 or 11 pm, but that was fine for us. The staff was so accommodating. The bathroom had a towel warmer which came in handy- it is freezing in London right now. We had the perfect view of The Buttery's garden from our huge window. There is an adorable market just steps away- for provisions after hours. In the states we are used to hotel rooms having in room refrigerators- but the market made it easy to get cold drinks every night. 10/10

Ssshhhh! I honestly don't want to tell anyone about the Lime Tree Hotel - it's only 26 rooms and…read moreprobably the best kept secret in this very posh area of London!! But for you, Yelp, I'll spill the reasons why you should stay here on your next visit to London... 1) The Location is awesome. You know the three rules of real-estate, right??? location, Location, LOCATION! Lime Tree (hence-forth, LT) is located in a very posh area of London. I saw McLarens and Rolls-Royces parked ON THE STREET where the hotel is located. Who parks a USD$200K+ car ON THE STREET?!? It is short walk to the Victoria Coach Station(s), Trains and Underground (Tube). There are plenty of pubs, restaurants, grocery stores and shops around. Our room overlooked the Peggy Porschen Bakery, which I kid you not, is Instagramed during all hours by "influencers". I only hope they get as much busy as they get featured in pics on the Internet! Also, down the street is Philip Treacy, Milner to Royalty! Again, LOCATION! 2) I would be remiss if I did not mention The Service at LT. There is an eight-hour shift rotation of lovely front desk people that check you in, collect your key when you leave (yes, there is a physical key to your room door and they ask that you leave it at the front desk everytime you leave). I am goingto butcher their name spellings (probably), but during our 8 night stay here, we came to know Simone, Martine, Maggy and Laura very well and all were charming, helpful and total professionals. My mother has stayed here several times before and was hoping to speak to the owner, Matt and Charlotte, but they were off on holiday, but I hear they are as hard-working and amiable as the Wondrous Women of the Front Desk (henceforth known as WWFD) 3) The Buttery - the SMALL breakfast/lunch restaurant in the LT (but you can't charge your meals to your room in the LT). The Word is out on on this place - there were just as many Locals eating here as there were guests at the hotel. RESERVATIONS are HIGHLY recommended (they are on OpenTable). I wrote a seperate review on The Buttery, so do a Yelp search and find that, but you honestly can't go wrong here. We ate 4 of the 8 days. TomTom across the street is also a one-location (at this time) gem and is packed after 9am. Early bird gets the good breakfast! Much love to the Lime Tree! I'll be back someday
