Great place to come if you have to apply for a passport within a week of travel. They are very…read moreorganized. Make sure that you get your appointment online. Once you meet the travel timeframe requirements for expedited passport applications, the appt will be allowed online. You should arrive an hour prior to your appt just to find parking. It will take you about 15-20mins to park. If you go too early, the Federal Police Officer will turn you away from the kine until a closer timeframe to your appointment. When you get inside, there is security screening. They have a person checking your documentation to make sure that you are prepared while line. This process is efficient with numbers that are called, like the DMV. You MUST HAVE ALL OF YOUR DOCUMENTATION, to proceed. I was able to pickup my passport in 3 days after my initial application appointment. The staff is super efficient and knowledgeable about the process. I recommend for last minute travel needs. They do not allow pictures here, so don't take any. My pictures are of the building lobby.

I apologize and explained I did not, I just wanted to make sure they did fingerprinting. She was irritated and annoyed throughout the entire interaction, even though no one else was in the store. I asked how much they charged and she just sighed " I don't know! I wouldn't know until you brought them in. You need your paperwork." It was so an abrupt and rude I simply chuckled and left. We all have bad days but this was just rude. Super disappointed because I just moved across the street and was going to use this postal annex quite a bit but due to the terrible service I will pick another location.

Located near the Prado Restaurant, this Visitors Center is fairly easy to miss. Since there is so much to see in Balboa Park, I'm so glad that they have several knowledgeable employees working here. The gift shop contains a small selection of cute souvenirs. There are also drinks, snacks, and some great books on Balboa Park and the surrounding San Diego area. We are planning on getting the Passport to Balboa Park the next time we are here. If you like Balboa Park as much as we do, this Visitors Bureau Center is worth a stop when you are here!
