I Became a member and was told I was going to receive a seven day cruise to alaska withe web airfare airfare included With no expiration date. When I went to redeem it, the promises were not made and I did not accept it.They said they were going to send me a new certificate when I was ready. When I called they were going to send me the certificate and then turned around and said it was expired. Try to give me a four day cruise to mexico instead but it cost money two hundred and sixty eight dollars per person. This was not free and this was not what I agreed upon. Super sketchy company, I received a phone call from someone clearly overseas, asking me if I knew where Oceanside was and a promise of two United Airline tickets. Too good to be true, I went to Yelp while on the call, and confirmed my thoughts, total scam, shady people trying to get you to head up to Oceanside for some pitch, no thanks! We arrived on time for our appointment with masks on because of COVID and it was indoors. Come to find out they were using NO COVID protocols and assuming everyone had completed their vaccine - however - San Diego county already issued guidance about indoor activity and masks. The gentlemen at the door just said that if we required masks we could leave, which we did. I do not recommend any business that totally ignores the well being of their clientele. I was told like everyone else that I would receive 2 free airline tickets, a 2-night hotel stay anywhere in the continental USA and $300 in dining at no cost. But there is a cost. $50 to register is just the beginning. You can only go to 23 of the largest cities. I wanted to see what hotels are available, you can't see that. I wanted to go to Montana, they'll fly you there but there are no hotels there. The same with New York, Connecticut and a slew of other destinations. Then to activate you agree you'll pay $199 for fees and taxes. The dining cards they give you are a joke. You can't dine for free with these cards. I was not pleased when attending TT's presentation at a local motel. When the rep checked us in, she asked for my drivers license, then wrote down my birthdate on her clipboard. She had no right/reason to take my birth date. If you want to check customers' ages, fine, but do NOT write down a person's date of birth in your records. Did not appreciate the salesman's subtle manipulative techniques & aggressive insistence that there would be no waiting period --- customers had to agree to the membership contract on that very day. The no-waiting thing is a sign of a predatory business. As a neighborhood journalist, I'll be reporting to my community on this company and its ethics or lack of such. I do not recommend this company. We have had our membership since last August. We thought that the free trips that were offered as incentives would pay for the membership fee but we were wrong. The Cancun trip that had a sales presentation took a whole day instead of one and a half hours. The free cruise was not free. In fact it cost MORE than if we had booked on our own. Now what they are trying to sale is access to a website that gives you discounts on hotels rooms. They claim it's at a wholesale price you can't get these rates anywhere else‍. Beggars cannot be choosers for something that is being handed to you free! Also, I received a $100 gift certificate voucher to Entertainment.com. I have been using the Entertainment Book and their web site for over 20 years, so I know this incentive is legit! In regards to their travel discounted program (NOT A TIMESHARE), My wife and I actually purchased it! They walked me through all the enormous ways I could save. They have special access to savings that you just normally cannot get your hands on. I guarantee you that you are not going to save money by booking vacations on your own through any of the known travel company web sites! Speaking of web sites, I was very impressed at how easy and efficient their user interface web site is. You do not have to be an expert to navigate through their web site. I also see availability at our timeshare resort in Hawaii which kind of makes me mad with the Westin because I can never get in there. Like some other Yelpers, I received a call from this company initially introducing themselves as Southwest Airlines and offering me 2 round trip domestic tickets and a 2 night stay at any domestic hotel of my choice. I initially thought this was believable since I recently did book a trip through Southwest. They noted this was "completely free" assuming I attend their "open house" going on that weekend. They reiterated that no purchase would be necessary for this complimentary gift. Sounds great right? I almost fell for it until I received their confirmation email and realized their logo was not that of Southwest. Southwest's slogan is transFAREncy and this company is called travel transparency. They also failed to mention over the phone or in the email that I would have to pay for the taxes and fees associated with my trip but thank God for Yelp and the reviews I read before attending this scam event. I called their customer service department and informed them that they cannot claim their trip is free or complimentary because at the end of the day, you'll end up spending several hundred dollars out of your pocket! The rep kept trying to evade my questions about the taxes and fees and ultimately I realized this was too good to be true. I was contacted by a marketing company who offered me 3 days, 2 nights hotel stay at anywhere in the continental united states as well as 2 free airline tickets to anywhere in the continental united states to listen to a 90 minute presentation with no obligation to buy anything. They said it was a grand opening for a travel agency. The sales person was nice. We listened to the presentation and felt pressured to finance a membership (which we didn't do). It was NOT a grand opening (they had been open over a year). They gave us a gift receipt with MANY conditions; including, only traveling on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday to a limited number of cities. And guess what...it wasnt free! It was $199 per person plus a $50 processing fee. $450 of free! They were taking advantage of many retirees as well. The prices for what they were offering kept moving with the conversation. I went to this presentation. I originally came in open-minded. It all sounded really great. The prices and discounts they show you seemed really enticing. When they said there was a membership cost, I knew it was too good to be true. When the rep told me your membership would be activated a week after you paid, that sounded fishy. I had someone (the same person who originally booked me for this) call me on the phone about an hour after the presentation to ask me how it was. They then wanted to know the number of the gift certificate. Then, they asked me the number for the plane ticket certificates. I told them I had never received them. They stated they would call me back. They never did. I called the number back and it was some phone number that said it was disconnected. Obviously, I feel sorry for the people who are booking with this company because I do believe they are not being honest. Let's start with the supposedly free gifts that they give you for attending their presentation. Guess what they don't work and it comes with activation fees. 2. the company preaches that they beat other hotels site prices and when they don't you can submit for a Price Guarantee. That's another lie. Here is one example of the many issues, I had with travel transparency not being transparent. My claim got denied, because it was non refundable but if you look at the picture below; all the non-refundable rooms are visible but mine wasn't, it was hidden under the cancellation policy. 3. I booked a house that had capacity for 6 people and confirmed it with the property owner and on travel transparency was only allowing 4 and their staff weren't able to accommodate me and made me cancel it. The couple who owns the company had a very sleazy "pitch" and when we said we needed to see think over the offer for one day, they upped the pressure and refused to let us think it over, claiming they couldn't afford to deal with that. We had to spend a minimum of about $3500 (the cheapest deal offered) on the spot or it wasn't available. We then declined the offer and they were quite unfriendly. We did get the promised perk (airfare and 2 nights in a hotel to a city of our choice in the continental U.S. However, to even use the offer you have to fill out a form and mail it in - in other words, they count on a certain percentage of people not wanting to bother with that. We live in everyone's vacation so after the whole mess of the last few years I guess we are just inviting everyone to California for their vacations. We saved some money and their kids are loud anyway so I'm glad we have access to this travel club and we have a way keep them away from the house. If you enjoy traveling I'd recommend going in to listen what these folks have to offer. You can get incredible rates on timeshare weeks without the upfront cost of buying one or the annual maintenance fees and taxes. Cruises will be 25-50% less than advertised prices. Very good hotel prices as well as airline deals. In short wholesale travel prices for life. As others have mentioned the promotional trip is provided by a different company.
