It was above and beyond in terms of the accommodations she selected for us at Shinta Mani in Siem Reap and the Royal Sands in Koh Rong, as well as in terms of the seamless transportation and connections. We never waited for any drivers-- someone was always there to greet us and take us to our next destination in comfort, which made our travel days so easy and efficient. I also wanted to shout out the unbelievable Angkor Wat tours she booked for us-- it was so educational and stunning to be at these ancient temples. They were also timed perfectly so that there were fewer tourists while we there, allowing us to really soak it all in. I had the good fortune to work with Scott Dunn to book a three-week, three-country trip to Asia. Here's what went right: flight connections with ample time. Flights that arrived and departed on time. Hotels that were stated as luxury that actually were, and were priced right. Tour guides who were on time, knowledgeable, and fun. What went wrong: Nothing. And that's my point. Planned 40th Anniversary trip for X-mas 2024 and called Scott Dunn and started to discuss what characteristics we wanted for this trip. Told Renata/Simon what we wanted and originally thought we wanted Costa Rico but based on our discussions steered us toward Chile/Argentina. We went for 17 days and it was a TRIP of a lifetime!! We had a very disappointing experience with Scott Dunn travel for a trip to Japan. I was very specific with what we wanted and expected - an itinerary that would work well for kids, seemless travel experience, adjoining rooms. This was all promised, however it felt like a bait and switch. Promised one thing and delivered another. Yes we take care of all transfers of luggage, yes we handle all aspects of tours, yes we can accommodate adjoining rooms, yes we will make those dinner reservations,.... Etc. when we arrived we discovered most of the promises were false. A highlight of experiences was provided to use but a final itinerary was only revealed a few days prior to trip leaving very limited time to discover problems and the itinerary often didn't list what was left out. We discovered numerous problems once we were there. There were no adjoining rooms. Showed up to dinner reservations one night to discover they had never been made. Couldn't see many of the highlights we had been sold on, as they told the tour guides to take us via public transportation yet didn't figure in the extra time this would require or the fact that traveling with 9 (5 children) on an overcrowded subway during rush hour would be technically challenging. The final itinerary appeared to be one curated for adults. One day they scheduled stops at 9 shrines. That gets tedious even for adults much less kids! If we had known this ahead of time, we could have made modifications but the lack of transparency was appalling. There were a variety of other problems and to list all would be tedious but please consider other agencies when booking travel! read more

Livia Angelini, our Scott Dunn representative did a spectacular job of planning the perfect Portugal itinerary for us. She did everything from selecting the perfect dates for our trip to ensuring that every stop on our trip was perfectly arranged. There was not a single hiccup during the entire 10 day tour. Lisbon was spectacular, ans was Porto annd the Duoro Valley. Every guide Livia lined up for us was not only professional and knowledgeable, but truly friendly and engaging. When we tried to get on a plane to Vietnam from Cambodia, we found out that we did need a visa and could not get one for several days, so we were stuck in the airport! One star is too high a rating. With the help of our advisor at Scott Dunn, our family planned a trip to Africa to celebrate my wife's "milestone birthday". Unfortunately for us that was in early 2020 before the COVID-related travel restrictions kicked into full gear. We had to cancel our trip, and while disappointed, the folks at Scott Dunn were able to secure a credit for a portion of monies we had already paid. Fast-forward to Spring 2022, and we decided to reschedule the trip, but this time it was just my wife and me. We worked with Meg Shepro to get our trip back on track, and she was engaging, knowledgeable, professional, and so very patient as we created our itinerary. We started off in Cape Town for two nights at More Quarters and a couple of days of site-seeing, then traveled the Zambian side of Victoria Falls for an additional two nights and site-seeing with our guide - Abi - at the Tongabezi Lodge - it couldn't have been more beautiful or relaxing. From there we traveled to Lower Zambezi and four nights at the Chongwe River Camp. During the days we traveled out with our guide (Sam) to see wildlife and the breathtaking African bush. From Lower Zambezi we traveled to the South Luangwa National Park and our new "home" at Mchenja. Again we traveled out into the bush with our guide (Rabby) and even spend an overnight in a dry river bed - enjoying the heavens without any competition from surface lights. It was without a doubt one of the most beautiful evenings imaginable - it was the first time I had ever seen the Milky Way in all of splendor. Then back to Johannesburg for two days and one night at the Peech Hotel before flying back to the US. Thanks to Meg's planning on our behalf, our feet never touched the ground - everything from flight arrangement, to being met at the airports, to ground transportation, to our reservations at hotels and the camps were covered flawlessly. And the accommodations were wonderful, food was delicious, the attentiveness of the staff outstanding, and the menu of "adult beverages" was complete. All-in-all a great experience orchestrated by Meg and Scott Dunn. We have another family celebration trip coming up in 2024 and wouldn't think of doing it without the help of Meg and Scott Dunn. read more

We chose to go through Renata Da Silva to take our annual vacation to a new locale (for us), Costa Rica. Alison planned an OUTSTANDING trip to Peru for my wife and I! First, the level of service provided by their counterparts in Peru: the drivers and guides provided detailed information and schedules throughout the trip. We were never confused as to where or when to go next. They were always punctual and had all our paperwork and tickets in order. They even went to Cusco airport in advance and had our boarding passes and luggage tags for us for the internal flight. The guides were very knowledgeable on the local history and Peruvian culture. They all spoke good English. The accommodations exceeded our expectations. Even though we had seen the photos of the facilities online, they were all even better in real life. The service at all four hotels was great. At our Titilaka hotel, I think there were actually more staff than guests. They were very attentive. At Sol y Luna, we paid for an upgrade to the casita with two fireplaces and outdoor jacuzzi. It was awesome! All four properties were very unique. We did not have many issues with the altitude...I think it helped that our itinerary started us in Sacred Valley and worked up to Lake Titicaca. We would highly recommend Scott Dunn Travel and would use them again. read more

They have demanded a retraction and have said I must include the following: Your false and misleading statements are defamatory, have damaged Scott Dunn's reputation and must be corrected.  Demand is hereby made that you post a correction to your review on Yelp on or before Friday, March 19, 2021.  Specifically, your review must mention: That your trip was cancelled due to an illness unrelated to COVID and that you have insurance to cover your loss; and Scott Dunn has offered to assist you with the claim. That Scott Dunn has refunded amounts to customers when not paid to third party suppliers. That no lawsuits are pending against Scott Dunn. That Scott Dunn did refund amounts to customers and/or rescheduled or postponed trips due to COVID. While Scott Dunn does not like getting negative reviews, it will not tolerate reviews based on false and misleading information.
