He initially booked the whole trip with air fair and the touring itinerary that seemed to be fair pricings so we agreed to it....once we agreed to it he said, the price is now increased to $700 more and it was only one day later. Wasn't too happy but we proceeded anyways. Then the very next day we get another email from Vi, he tells us there is another increase in price roughly $400 for the both of us. His excuse was that we booked too soon he needed much more time in advance. By this time we are looking at our trip to be roughly $10,000 for flying coach too, not even business class. Extremely livid at this point! Well, on the touring company "Charming Holidays" website and the brochure he handed me and my wife it clearly is written they leave every Mon, Thurs, Sat. Furthermore, this is not what he initially informed us. If this is the case then why did you quoted us the prices and worked out the whole flying schedule and touring package, and the price with us? Be warned: Vi, his business style is to pressure you into giving him your passports so he can save your spot immediately and then he will charge you a lot more once he knows you are interested. As for doing the Visa you can do it yourself online. Don't let him scare you by saying it is very hard to do it yourself and there are frauds online. Make sure you go to the government website and save yourself $200 per person in comparison to what he charges you (which is outrageous). He has no people skills what so ever...always trying to rush you on the phone and hang up when the conversation has not ended. He will try to convince you to travel to somewhere else instead of the country you wanted to go to. This place deserve a "zero" star not even 1 star review.

I realized I needed my passport to come back to the US after a cruise so I contacted the owner and made an appointment for FedEx to pick up my passport while we were waiting in a Canada hotel. Unfortunately, the agency missed the scheduled FedEx pickup. After we begged the owner had an employee take my passport to a nearby FedEx location. What happened next was the most upsetting part of the experience. While we were in the process of paying the FedEx shipping charges, the owner told us that unless we paid an additional $80 for the employee to deliver the package to FedEx, he would not release it for shipping. Since my passport was urgently needed for international travel, I felt I had no real choice. This situation was stressful, unprofessional, and completely avoidable. We had originally planned to use this agency for future visa and travel services, but after this experience, we will never do business with them !

Not bad. According to their website, Acacia Travel has "400 years combined travel experience and (they have) collectively traveled to over 200 countries." If you call Acacia, they offer a "complimentary consultation appointment." Also, they seem to do a lot of business travel arrangements and overseas trips. For those in need of some aid in making travel and touring arrangements, Acacia is the way to go. Not everyone can get on the computer and find the cheapest airfare or the best hotel to stay at. The pros here know their way around these things and appear to be very good with details. What a fool he is! And what fools we were to trust him! Our friends are very well known people in Portugal who had a reception for us when we arrived with the Naval Attache, the ambassador, and the President's wife attending. They forgot more about Lisbon and Portutgal than this agent knows. We should have listened to them and made him book a different hotel. The shower didn't work and they never fixed it. The tub was full of rust. The complimentary breakfast was all but inedible and the free WiFi was a lie. The hotel staff was extremely rude and the only good thing they did was warn us not to go out in the neighborhood at night. Mr. Baptista booked us on a flight with a one hour connection in Philadelphia, which is a nightmare of an airport. Our flight ran 15 minutes late and we missed our connection to Portugal. Any decent agent should know that one hour is never enough, but when confronted with this he assured us it was fine. It would take more time and space than I am willing to spend to tell you of the screw-ups by this agent. Needless to say his reputation amongst the Portuguese community in San Diego will be severely questioned as two of our group are Portuguese and have already told many of their friends to avoid him at all costs.
