Where do I even begin? I needed a visa to China in less than five business days, and Karina Davis…read moreand Express Travel Services made it happen -- with a day to spare!! I was simply amazed and left only to believe in magic (and yes, she's handled similar asks for business traveler friends of mine, too!). But what really stood out wasn't just the unbelievable result, it was the way the team at Express Travel Services handled everything along the way. Karina brought such professionalism, organization, and genuine care to what was honestly a very stressful situation for me. She and her network worked tirelessly to make what felt almost impossible seem seamless. Every detail was handled thoughtfully, and I always felt like I was in good hands with constant, personalized updates along the way. If they could deliver on a request this difficult, I have no doubt they can handle just about any travel or visa need you may have. Truly above and beyond service. Six out of five stars. Thank you again, Karina!

Outstanding experience working with Express Travel Services to obtain a China Tourist Visa…read more Renu and Brian made the application process simple and efficient, they are extremely thorough in preparing the information, and they work closely with the consulate in Los Angeles. Updates on the status of my visa while it was in progress were made available to me through a link they provided. My visa was completed and ready for pick up in just under four weeks, and that is at a time when the consulate had a backlog. Fees are very reasonable, response time to questions is very fast, and Renu is a valuable resource for any passport, visa, or general travel questions. Overall, Renu and her staff made the entire process easy for me. I highly recommend them.

I have used Balboa Travel for several years and could not be happier with the experience. In our…read morecompany, we had a full time travel coordinator but we contracted with Balboa Travel for specific arrangements. Every time they were involved, and that included hundreds of transactions annually, they were amazing. As COO and CEO, I used Balboa Travel's VIP Team for all business and personal travel arrangements. My personal travel agent within the VIP Team has been and remains Melanie. She is absolutely amazing, any time of the day or night, on weekends, when I am on travel, or preparing to travel, she bends over backwards to be of assistance. She maintains my profile and all travel documents which streamlines travel arrangements. My wife and I will never use anyone but Melanie and the Balboa Travel VIP Team for our domestic and international travel needs! They are the very best!

Our travel agent Mike Hennes screwed up the dates for our trip and then blamed it on me with this…read morebelittling email. I SUGGESTED hotels since the ones he chose were honeymooner suites for a father daughter vacation. Hello Mike & Natalie, Are you familiar with the phrase and this old English saying?  too many cooks in the kitchen. Meaning: Too many people are trying to control, influence, or work on something, with the quality of the final product suffering as a result. (A variation of the more common phrase, "Too many cooks spoil the broth/stew/soup.") ... "It sounds to me like there are too many cooks in the kitchen." Too many cooks in the kitchen - Idioms by The Free Dictionary When I first started working with Mike, he told me that price was his primary concern and his travel dates were flexible in February that as long as the return trip was by February 28th. The booking that I placed the air on hold was just that. It matched his requirements based upon price and hotels that have two beds. That is why the dates of February 4th with a return of February 11th were quoted with a request being sent to Tahiti for confirmation of hotels that might have rooms available with two beds. I told Mike that the booking was on request and I had to get a final confirmation from the resorts before he could pay for the trip. He offered a few times to make payment, which I refused because I told him I was waiting for a final confirmation from the office in Tahiti that was working with me on these travel plans. What I had sent to him were quote estimates for the lowest prices to fit his budget. Nothing was solid as we have to get confirmation from the offices in Tahiti. He agreed and also I mentioned to him that after we had the Tahiti trip confirmed and paid in full that I would book the flights from Columbus, Ohio to LAX for him. Why Natalie booked flights were unbeknownst to me. That was not to happen with the instructions I discussed with Mike.  Usually when I have clients that book Tahiti they are not on such a modest budget. Which truthfully I cannot book the hotels that are referred to in Natalie's email. Because of the quality of these properties and the problems that could arise from booking clients there I steer clear of these types of budget accommodations. Our agency books deluxe hotels for our clients, not budget tourist properties. Also, some of the online booking engines will appear to confirm a hotel to you, then because there is fine print on their T&C's contained on their web pages they will come back to you days before you arrive telling you that the hotel is not available. My job is to make sure that does not happen. We work directly with a representative in Tahiti and when we start a reservation it is on request, only when we have a confirmation then we can accept payment from the client. If you like to take risks when you travel then please go ahead and book online, remember "Buyer Beware" as your travel agent is not going to be able to fix a mess that you've created by booking online yourself. Now that Natalie is trying to do my job and book budget hotels online, etc. I am going to have to withdraw as your travel agent on this booking. Right now we have too many cooks in the kitchen, especially since she has gone ahead and booked flights to LAX without my prior knowledge and approval. I am sorry that I cannot work on your vacation plans when there are other "Cooks In The Kitchen" that are making travel arrangements behind my back. I was working with Mike who called me and asked me to provide my services as a travel professional for his vacation plans. I have to be in total control as a professional travel consultant, that is the only way it can be. I am sorry that this happened. I hope you understand that I have been working in the travel industry since 1974 and know what I am doing. But sometimes I have to say "NO" and abandon a situation when things are not in my control. In this case having Natalie trying to do my job has spoiled this. I take pride of the service that I provide my clients. Over the years I have helped thousands of happy and satisfied customers who place their vacation planning exclusively into my hands. I do my best when clients leave me alone to do my job and not try to let the internet influence my recommendations.  The reason people call travel agents is that we know what we are doing and because I spend countless hours per week planning vacations for hundreds of client each month, I know what is a good fit for them and what may look good to you on the internet is actually bad, I have a trained eye to only suggest the very best for my clients. Quality does have a price. Just like a man can buy a suit at Walmart or one from Brooks Brothers. When you see that man you can tell right away where his suit came from. I make sure my clients are looking good and wearing a quality suit from Brooks Brothers and not a cheap Walmart knockoff.
