STRESS-FREE I have been using DayTripper Tours around 15 years for day trips from San Diego. (I have not been on any of their multi-day trips, although my mom has and has enjoyed them). They are an ideal stress-free way to see certain sights that you wouldn't necessarily see under your own steam. Trips I've participated in include visits to the Disney Concert Hall, Jeopardy live taping, America's Got Talent audition taping, Hollywood Bowl concert, Nasa's JPL, the Pasadena Rose Parade, John Wayne yacht tour and Camp Pendleton tour and museum. WELL ORGANIZED AND PROFESSIONAL Day Tripper Tours are always well organized with informative, friendly guides and professional bus drivers and clean, modern buses with foot rests. COMFORT STOPS They always incorporate a roughly 20-30 minute 'comfort' stop for the restroom and fast food options on the way there and back. There's a toilet on board the bus, but they really prefer you to use the restroom at the stops. They always hand out snacks and water on board. As with most tours, you're under their schedule, so sometimes things are slightly rushed, in other words, you don't get to linger on your own time. Pick-ups usually run on time, but sometimes traffic can delay things, which is out of their control. PICK-UP LOCATIONS We have used the pick-up locations in Rancho Bernardo, Carlsbad and La Jolla. I wish they picked-up at Rancho Bernardo more often as that's the most convenient for me. Most patrons are seniors, but I've been using them since my early 40s. It's fun to chat with your bus companions, especially if you're joining the tour solo. I have taken less tours in recent years as their prices have gone up to typically around the $150 mark, but when I do take them, I enjoy them. If you get their e-mails, watch for discounts when they're trying to fill a tour. Tips to the guide and driver are also suggested and envelopes are provided. You can either browse their printed catalog by mail or take a look at their tours on-line. One thing to note is there are no refunds if you cancel due to illness, etc., although they do offer trip insurance, but I've never purchased it. If they happen to cancel the tour, you get a refund. Update: since the Lake Arrowhead trip, I took one absolutely outstanding trip and today tried to take another, which did not work out...but I'm so blown away by the stellar customer service that I had to go ahead and update my review to the highest possible stars! I can't say enough good things about this company. In February, I took the MOST FUN trip to a taping of 3 shows for Wheel of Fortune = what a total BLAST! Soooo much fun from front to back; it was exhilarating (saw a MN guy win $90K in 2 hours!) Made me want to take ALL the game show trips! I signed up for the AGT auditions in Pasadena for 3/26 and was all set to go with hubby. We got an email maybe a week ago Friday that it all got cancelled, but we could switch to the other date for it, which was today. Bc of work situations, I could go, but hubby could not, so I replied such to the email, and it was all arranged WITHOUT ME EVEN HAVING TO CALL THE OFFICE, and the full refund for hubby was instantly given. So hassle free, wow! Today I left home 1.5 hrs before my bus pickup time...but due to traffic, GPS kept ADDING 5-minute chunks onto my trip, and by the Temecula traffic bog, I could see I'd be at least 25 min late = not acceptable! So I rang the 800# CXL line, since I had taken the $15 CXL fee option. I explained my situation to Corbett, who said he'd let the bus driver know, so they wouldn't have to wait, but he didn't know/wasn't sure about my cancellation refund. However, by the time I got home, the full refund was already processed and they sent an email, so again , I didn't even NEED to call the office: it was all just handled. Wow! Even though I was VERY VERY disappointed to miss this day I'd been dreaming about...I trust that I'll get another chance, when it's meant to be. In the meantime, I've got my eye on a few other trips, which I'll happily sign up for without a moment's hesitation. VERY impressive customer service!!! I've been w/ them over many trips & years. I live in inland, N. SD county. About 4-6 years ago & expressed my disappointment that many trips picked up coastal & more SD south & central areas. I was soon met w/ quick aggressiveness in how dare I complain & I should not attend future trips. I thought their staff very quick tempered instead of trying to be diplomatic. For a long time I didn't travel w/ them but came back after a number of respite years. I even said they knew what they were doing in planning their routes to destinations. I have missed out on much I would like to have experienced but I had to accept & felt I couldn't say a word. When I resumed after the initial grip of Covid, I was disappointed they still had the tip envelopes for drivet & tour guide tips. I occasionally used to do this but I felt that recently the cost of trips were so pricy & meals that were often included were now up to the travelers to provide their own. Recently. I no longer wanted to participate although I always thanked the guide & driver for the enjoyable trip w/ safe driving. We'll it turns out that's hardly enough for this one bus driver, Mario, who almost always is working on the trips I've been going on. He openly made a big dramatic production to me about how important these tips are & stuffed envelopes on my seat, on my personal whereas I contend that these tips are optional but he progressively became more unpleasant involving tour guides w/each trip. After the 2nd to the last one I took, he unzipped the back of my walker seat to insert the envelopes. At this point, I complained w/ more detail I'm giving here to Day Tripper office staff. I was told she would speak to the contracted bus company that hires Mario. I really thought this would be the end of the problem BUT it wasn't. The same horrible issue happened again after the trip. He didn't even want to get my walker off the bus & the guide had to tell him to do so. I also noticed on this last trip I was on, this tour Guide who had been perfectly pleasant towards me was distant & grouchy the entire trip towards me. I was sitting directly in back of her & this continued on & off the bus. At first I thought she was just having a bad day but when it goes on all day, I suspect the bus driver has a big vengeful mouth. Since the traveler usually gets an email from the company a survey for trip feedback, I had more to say than I could put down, so I called the company. I admit I was rather upset because I already called to state the driver's behavior. I thought I was talking to the person I gave the previous feedback to but she stated it wasn't her & I tried to get her to look at documentation 3 or more times but at this point the conversation got very vague. She wanted to have me speak w/ the owner, Myron Stam & I thought ok but they wanted to call the next day. I told them unfortunately I was busy all day but I wanted to schedule a call in 2 days. Sure enough, I got a call the next morning as I was rushing for a doctor's appointment. I couldn't take the call from Day Tripper but it turned out I had to wait awhile to see the doctor. I saw on my phone there was a v/m left from them. It was the owner & he was most unpleasant. I tried to be calm & speak w/ him but office staff wouldn't let me. I again tried to schedule for the next morning but this Myron was being mean & impossible saying I was the problem behavior & the bus driver acted appropriately. He canceled my impending 3 trips, which are usually a source of enjoyment for me. and refused to enter into any mature discussion. I am leaving some detail out but I intend to contact the Better Business Bureau about the very poor tactics & non communication going on. It's also very unfortunate there are no good competing traveling companies around San Diego. I'm feeling pretty devastated. read more

False advertisement! We agree with many other guests especially the one who posted her review on 12/6/2021. The trip "protection" with "Travelex" is just a scam. Manager Chrissy at Day Tripper Tours was not helpful in providing information the insurance needed when we asked her twice. Both companies don't answer phone or help us to get the refund. It is very difficult to work with these 2 profit driven companies. Either you will travel with sick people or lose thousands of dollars. We don't recommend! read more

My friend and I took a recent trip to Huntington Gardens from San Diego recently. All went well until the bus broke down on its return to San Diego at a dark park and ride stop. The bus company, Royal Bus Tours, lied about sending out a new bus right away. After waiting over an hour for the bus to arrive, my friend called another friend to come pick us up at the at the park and ride. I contacted Day Trippers to ask about compensation since the ticket I purchased was to include a completed trip. Day Trippers refused to provide any compensation. This was my first and last trip with this company! read more

Recently, a friend and I took our first tour with Day Trippers to the Huntington Gardens and Library near Pasadena. The venue was great...our tour guide Christina was great....but the bus company they retain...Royal Coaches was unable to provide a road worthy bus to take us from our pick-up point in University City and back again. The coach left us broken down in a roadside Park and Drive after dark....waiting...and waiting...for another vehicle. Not safe...not something I will do again. Also, despite asking the guide to have Day Tripper Management contact me about my concerns, and filling out a review with them requesting the same NO ONE had the courtesy of contacting me. My wife had a nervous breakdown after working with Chrissy Allen and her recommended insurance company. We had good reason to get a refund yet we are unable to get our money back because of her disservice to people with illness like us. Withholding insurance information is one of the tactics used to discourage us to file a claim. We have been a good customer until now. We don't know who they truly are until when we need some help. Daytripper Tours was recommended to me by a colleague, and I would not hesitate to recommend their bus tours to anybody. Daytripper Tours are the best I've ever taken. As an example, the latest tour my wife and I took was yesterday, up to the Getty Center. Our Tour Director was Crystal, and I don't recall the driver's name, my bad. Crystal was the perfect host (is 'hostess' still politically correct?). Our driver was superb. We ran into some rain at night on the way home, and I noticed he adjusted his speed accordingly, and drove as well as a bus can be driven. Speaking of the bus, it was a brand new one! Large, very large, and very comfortable and quiet. The video monitors and the audio system were excellent. My wife and I have taken several previous day trips with Daytripper (certainly an apt name, but they also do longer trips, too), and have never been disappointed. Sure, Yelpers can whine about the actual event they attended, but they are the ones who chose it. They should review the event, not Daytrippers. I recommend the Getty Center tour, which can be done several times in order to fully appreciate this enormous and incredibly fascinating Center, and also the tour up to the Ronald Reagan Library in Simi Valley. The Reagan Library was remarkable, and lunch was included. We were seated under the port wing of Reagan's Air Force One Boeing ! The Cowboy Festival was terrific. Others, too, and it's always a matter of personal taste. It's never a matter of safety. I have always felt very safe on the Daytripper tours. Get on their E-mail list, and peruse the new tours being offered. Every once in a while a special price will be E-mailed to you, and you won't be able to resist. read more

" Day Tripper Tour Was Good Again " We took another Day Tripper Tour up to Inglewood , CA. to see the Josh Groban Concert. Our Tour guide Chrissy Allen again was very nice, funny, and handled the tour with a very professional and safe attitude. Tino our driver had a super friendly attitude, and was a very good driver. We went to see the Josh Groban and Idina Menzel concert at the Forum in Inglewood, CA. The seats we had were right across from he stage up front, and Idina Menzel came out first to sing for about 1 hour. She has such a powerful voice. We saw her in the Broadway play " Wicked" and she was really good at this concert. Then after a 30 minute break, Josh Groban came out to do about another 1 1/2 hours of entertaining the huge crowd. His voice is Awesome ! He sang some new song hits, and some of his famous songs also. We had a great night at the forum. Day Tripper Tours with Tino driving got us all back to San Diego by 2:30 am. My mom and dad had wanted to go see the San Antonio Riverwalk Christmas Lights for a long time. Unfortunately my dad passed before they were able to go together. We were impressed by the tour itinerary so it was with great excitement that my mom, sister and I signed up. Being seasoned travelers it was a wonderful perk to be chaffeured to the airport by La Costa Limousine. The driver was very patient with everyone and made sure that all had secured their homes before we left each residence. His attention to each person he picked up was noted by all. The orientation on the first night included a walk around the San Antonio river area. My mom elected to stay back. I'm glad she did since she uses a walker and there were several areas that we walked that included stairs. We realized prior to the trip that we would make any adjustments for her as needed. During the walk, Patti Foley our tour manager showed us where we could catch the river cruise which was a staircase of about twenty stairs. I asked her where the elevator access was for those that used walkers or canes. She did not know and did not attempt to get the answer. I found it on my own. Being that almost all the people in our group were seniors, I would assume this is an answer that she should have known. We had the city tour scheduled on our last day. The lady that showed us the Mission San Jose, El Mercado & Alamo was enjoyable. Unfortunately I do not recall her name. On our way to see the Tower of Americas, my mom experienced chest pain that necessitated her taking a nitroglycerin. Patti was walking by and I told her that she may be having a health issue. She told me "I will need to get back to you." She then proceeded to lead the group off the bus. We were left alone on the bus. She NEVER returned. I was left to figure out whether I would need to call 9-1-1 or get an Uber/Lyft back to our hotel. Fortunately our bus driver Mike returned and was shocked to find us still on the bus. He drove us back to our hotel. Mike was wonderful during our entire tour, assuring that my mom had her walker each and every time we disembarked. Patti never checked on us later that day and even the following morning at breakfast she ignored us. This lack of checking on my mom's welfare really showed her lack of concern and compassion. I approached her to request a wheelchair be available at the airport to take my mom to the gate. I have never been on a tour where the leader did not check in with everyone in the group to assure she was addressing all their concerns. Very sad! We were allowed to get off the bus first and was given a Southwest wheelchair to transport my mom through TSA and to the gate. When we arrived at the gate, I was told that my mom's walker had not been tagged and directed to the gate counter. I was accused of stealing their wheelchair since only Southwest personnel are to transport passengers in their chairs. I explained that my tour manager had given it to me to transport her. I also discovered that Patti did not arrange pre-boarding for wheelchair passengers. Thankfully the Southwest staff assisted me in arranging it in San Antonio as well as in San Diego. I feel she should have known how to manage this situation and arranged it. I have been on other tours and know that the tour is only as good as the tour manager. I have seen tour managers handle adversity in my travels. They checked in with everyone along the way to assure they were doing well and if they had any issues as the trip went along. Patti never did this and she did not show the level of knowledge of all the places we went. It felt like she was doing a job and that did not include assuring that everyone was having a good time. I may check into other Daytripper tours but will not elect to go if she is the tour manager. It was a super itinerary, I just wish we had a better tour manager. read more

My friend suggested that we use Day Trippers to attend the Pageant of the Masters in Laguna beach from Oceanside, CA. The pick-up was timely and the bus very comfortable with a toilet in the rear. It was an easy ride mid afternoon to Laguna and upon arrival, there was no parking hassle ! We had about 4 hrs on our own to visit the Sawdust and art exhibits and eat dinner on our own before the show There are many restaurants a short walk from the Pageant site, but we chose the elegant, outdoor "Terra" restaurant on site. The braised lamb shank "early bird" special was excellent but not cheap @ $24 each! We then walked to the beach and watched the youth play volleyball prior to the showtime and sunset. The performance was amazing, and you have to see it at least once to fully comprehend the work involved for the amazing end result. After the show, itt was wonderful not to have to drive back for over an hour late at night. Our tour mgr, Leslie did an excellent job of keeping us informed and answering questions. We took the Day tripper Salton Sea/San Andres fault trip yesterday & absolutely loved it. They brought an expert ( Ken Huskey ) who spent the day with us explaining everything as well.everything about those areas we visited.We ended the tour with a stop at Hadley's for a banana & date shake. The driver and tour guide did a great Lunch was also included which came from Boudin bakery in Escondido . Great sandwiches.I highly recommend this company as well as this tour. read more

My husband & I had our first experience with Daytrippers tours & it will not be our last. We were picked up at our local commuter transit station by a luxury Mercedes Benz bus with Kathi Diamond as our tour guide. We were able to enjoy the journey to Hsi Lai Temple, since our driver was efficient & amazing! We had star treatment from a real star-Kathi, who provided our tour information, snacks, water, & stories. Our bathroom breaks were frequent enough & the bus had a bathroom too:) We found a cool nursery at one of our stops! Our destination tour was professional & Kathi made sure to keep all of our group timely to our vegetarian luncheon & our group tours. We are planning future "Daytripper Tours" this summer! read more

This was our first time traveling with this tour program, but, having led 10 tours to Europe from Southern California ourselves, we felt qualified to comment about how well done this tour was. Frankly, the sightseeing was fun, but not over the top. The teasing ride was pretty good and having lunch on the train in a private car was a neat idea. The food choices will never please everyone and we were not impressed with the food. Touring on a rainy day is difficult, but our Tour Director, Johnny, did such an outstanding job, that any concerns we had were now minimal. His enthusiasm and caring forethought made us feel valued. Although he has a great future as a tour director, he really would make a fine teacher as well. We would actively choose to tour with Johnny anytime! read more

I took my second trip with DayTripper tour, and my first international trip with the company on Saturday. We went by Motor coach down to Rosarito and Puerto Nuevo for a lobster lunch. The tour guide, Patti, was knowledgeable and professional. We had plenty of stops along the way for bathroom breaks, and the shopping time in both Rosarito and Puerto Nuevo was ample. Patti gave us bits of information about the landscape surrounding the driving route, and tips for bartering in the shops. The highlight of my day was the included Lobster lunch at Villa Ortega. We were seated along the huge windows overlooking the sea, and were started with Margaritas, chips and salsa. I was STARVING and was worried there might not be enough food coming.... boy was I wrong! a full lobster split and grilled, a tortilla the size of a hub cap (not an exaggeration), beans, rice and the most delicious rolls stuffed with cream cheese i have ever had! To top it off, they brought out fresh flan for a sweet treat! i was pleasantly surprised by the bakery we had our last stop at before the border crossing and got several treats for sunday coffee! The ease of getting on the bus, being helped across both border checks and the HUGE meal make this a wonderful day! i was thrilled with the Morning juice and granola bar, and afternoon water bottles and snack that were provided by the company. I would not recommend the rose bowl parade tour. Even though it was pretty it was way too crowded and hectic. Waited in line 1hour to use the bathroom. Bus was comfy and Keri our tour guide was very nice. We had to wait a very long time to get our hotel room which we were not happy about . Went to dinner and battle of the dance show and the food was not too good show was so so kind of disappointed ... Hotel room at courtyard marriott buena park was very basic bed too soft light in bathroom flickered ... They messed up with our check in very disappointed with that we were tired and really needed to rest before show but could not . I would not go on another bus tour as its just not my thing ... Customers, just plan ahead, for the unexpected. I do not know what the insurance cost, but be prepared, because this is how this company works. Here was my response below. We owned it, didn't get insurance, yup, and want to forewarn others, this is the mentality of the company. Guaranteed, there was no 330.00 lost and a LOT less. BTW, why was my sisters review removed the same day? "That is a very canned response and we can understand and we will not be back. Life happens, and can be unpredictable. Yours too, and I can hope when you get sidelined, you remember how your company reacts. Karma is predictable. People need to know there is no flexibility, and that in of itself, is poor customer service. We know mark ups and if you wanted to, as a company, to keep customers and care about "real situations", you would make an effort, because what we paid, was NOT 100% of the cost/ expense. Took my Dad to Puerto Nuevo, Mexico. Our tour guide Christina and driver Abel (?) Were wonderful! Shopping in Rosarito was fun and the lobster in Puerto Nuevo was a great dinner. One of the tortillas was bigger then our face! Ha! The trip went as planned except for the long border wait at the end. We skipped stopping at the bakery on the way back because we would have been stuck in hours more traffic in Tijuana. It wasent the tours fault for the border chaos as they have no control over the border patrol. All in all it was a good experience. We went on the week before Easter which I guess is a Mexican holiday and Spring Break so....probably not the best time in regards to crossing the border. Also, we had to show our passports on the way in and get a visa. This was new! Make sure you have layers as the temp does fluctuate and comfortable shoes! read more

We took our first day tripper tour to Laguna Beach Pageant of the Masters yesterday and we were thrilled with the experience. Patti, Tour Director was fun, knowledgeable, helpful and just amazing. Yolanda, the bus driver, was just as fabulous and the bus was wonderfully comfortable. Very well organized with seat assignments, snacks up to and back from Laguna Beach. Good seats. Good price! if and when we find another trip we want to go on, I want these two women on board! Great experience! read more

We went on the last foodie tour and had a most wonderful time food was excellent and we were very full. We had a nice long walk down Wilshire in Hollywood it was necessary as well as entertaining. But this foodie tour we were not as happy. The food was very small portions and one of the restaurants the food was dry and cold. They sat us so close together we couldn't even move our arms . We had plastic plates and plastic forks it was not a good experience at the Greek restaurant. Mark our guide did everything he could to try to make it a fun and a good learning experience as well. But I did not appreciate the video on the Holocaust or his talking about a surprise visit to the Holocaust Museum. That is a very sensitive subject for my family. Perhaps the next foodie tour we could have more food than what we had on this one but not as much food as the previous one oh, I'm sure it just takes time to figure out how much is enough without being excessive. This review is only of the Daytripper to The Tamale Festival in Indio. Great bus, driver, and leader. However, had we driven, we would have left the "festival" within the first half hour! Instead, we were trapped for several long hours! We tried several different tamales at several different vendors. All were sub-par, nothing worth finishing, certainly nothing worth taking home! We had all taken ice chests! Nothing else to do within walking distance, so, we really were stuck. What a horrid experience! The "entertainment" was just laughable. No wonder this "festival" was free to the public, but we would never, ever choose to spend our time or money taking this excursion! read more

My family has used this company several times for their tours. While most experiences have been good, recent service and policies is lacking and VERY concerning given the fact that their patrons are elderly and more vulnerable. I write this review only to provide people with notice of their policies and the lack of customer service that they apparently pride themselves on. We booked a tour and got sick a few days prior. It was not COVID. But given how bad it was, we called to cancel the tour. They would not let us, nor would they refund any money. Given these tours are expensive, that is a huge loss for those on a limited income (which I expect many of their customers are). In speaking to the manager, she said that she would not do anything, she would not provide the owners information, nor would she provide the vendor information so we could attempt to get their money back (that they allegedly would have lost ) so we could get ours back. Instead they wanted to keep our money and provide no remedy citing their "clear cancellation policy." In reviewing that policy, somebody could get on their bus and infect everybody else despite being incredibly ill, simply because they are vaccinated. And, I expect that may happen while this policy remains so those sick individuals don't lose money. That sick person can also test positive for COVID and still get on the bus as long as they are vaccinated. Again, in order to not be out the money they spent. When describing this unreasonable logic to their manager, the only thing the company cited was that they would lose money. They didn't care that their customers could get infected by a trip they organized. And when a scenario was provided to try and assist with their monetary loss, they denied access to that information. If you are planning a trip or looking to buy, just be careful because you could lose money immediately if you get sick OR you could put yourself at risk traveling on their bus since others that are sick are left with no other option but to travel. Really sad to see that they went this downhill after such an awful year already for their customers. An email to the owner (that was located online through no help of the company) is, not surprisingly, still pending a response. He hasn't attended a tour in awhile either I bet. read more

I did the trip to the Pasadena Rose Parade a couple of years ago, and will never take another bus trip to anywhere. First of all, if you book this trip, ask where your seats will be. Mine were in the nose-bleed section at the end of the route. The view was poor and the marchers were tired. Had I known how far up my seat was, I would never have gone. On the bus, one person had brought her small dog hidden away in a carry bag, and since I'm allergic and her seat was nearby, that was unpleasant for me. Just returned from a great bus tour to the wineries near Ensenada, overnight in Ensenada, and lunch in Puerto Nuevo. Christina was an absolutely fabulous tour director. Full of energy, information and helpfulness. This is my second trip with Day Trippers. They really do a good job. I'm looking forward to going on more trips with them. Went on a couple tours that were ok--Laguna pageant was fine. Then signed up for one where bus was very late--waited for hours in a parking lot, tour then cut short. No offer to try and make up for the problems. Last one for me. Now doing Road Scholars. read more

I've been on 37 of these tours, so I guess it is about time for me to give them a review. All the trips have been single day trips. The first one was the Fillmore and Western Luncheon Train tour back in 2006. The tours I have been on include Catalina, Salton Sea, Windmill Farms, Nethercutt Auto Museum, Space Shuttle Endeavour, Union Station, Date Festival in the desert, Jet Propulsion lab, KPBS, Union Tribune, L.A Times., March Air Reserve Base, Camel Dairy, Hubbell house, Benedict Castle, Silk Road Exhibit to name a few. Today we went to the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden and Fullerton Arboretum. What I like about these trips is that everything is prearranged and all you have to do is show up in time to catch the bus and leave the driving to Day Tripper tours. Sometimes lunch or dinner is included on the tour and sometimes they drop you off in an area with a lot of eateries and you are on your own to eat where you want. I have never had a bad experience. Some tours are better than others, but the tour guides and bus drivers have always done a great job. Update: We just took our 77th trip with Day Tripper Tours and I still highly recommend them. I'm so glad we discovered this tour company. It has been a wonderful way to see Southern California. read more

This is a scathing review that screams of poor customer service and lousy business practice. We were subjected to a very obnoxious environment over a 5 day trip to Arizona. We were inappropriately seated next to a person that continually defecated in her pants throughout our trip and we politely asked for some small compensation for our extreme discomfort. Our 5 day trip was $2400.00 and we felt a 1 day trip of no more then $300.00 be compensated to us at a later date. There solution was that we should have moved to a different seat and it was not their fault. They had made several blunders on this trip that should never had occurred and they miserably failed to do what was right. First of all, they know that I am handicapped. Daytrippers policy is to seat handicap people near the door exit of the bus; we were seated near the middle of the bus. I had requested to be seated on the driver's side of the bus to not have the sun on me (the sun on most trips is on the passenger side at the beginning) since I have had many cancerous growths removed. They have in the past honored my request and on this trip we were told the day before departing we would be seated in seats 7 & 8 which is right behind the driver; that did not happen as we were directed to move further back to the passenger side. Secondly, we were traveling with another couple and requested they be seated across form us and that was also confirmed the day before departure. They were seated 4 rows further to the rear. Lastly, when we did finally move to the rear of the bus, other passengers had moved out of their assigned seats to be next to windows and my wife and I could only find a seat right next to the toilet. This woman made several trips back to the restroom and the stench was horrific. As everyone can surmise, sitting next to the rest room door is the worst seat to be in. This trip happened several months ago and I have been advised to submit our terrible experience on Yelp. It was a very small request that we asked for and their refusal is nonsensical and extremely poor customer service. I can only conclude that this company is too cheap to deal with this situation appropriately. They probably felt if they compensated us, other passengers would also ask to be reimbursed. Stuck on the side of the freeway with flat tire... What happen to equipment checks... They clearly have no plan for this eventuality.

My 25 yr. old daughter & I have taken many tours on Daytripper. We are usually the youngest to go. I'm in my late 50s. We've gone to Catalina, Best of LA, Idylwild wine tasting ( one of the best), Joshua Tree. All of those tours were great! We decided last summer to go to the Rosarito/ Puerto Nuevo lunch tour. Big mistake. Crossing the border was fine. I couldn't believe how developed Rosarito has gotten since I was there. There are so many bars & discos now & trinket stores peddling their wares. We stopped @ a nice bakery in downtown TJ to buy pastry which was fun too. Coming back to the US was a mess! We had to disembark the buses( I think there were 2-3) get off & walk through customs. Due to long lines- that took over an hour. I was prepared for that. When we got through customs there were no buses! The inspectors decided to take a break. A LONG break. We sat on a sidewalk in San Ysidro for 2 more hours & waited until they let the buses go through. Our tour guide kept apologizing and said" you never know what to expect when you come down to Mexico" My daughter & I should have taken an Uber back to our car. There were elderly & some disabled people sitting there too. Be prepared if you decide to go. Wear good walking shoes and enjoy that complimentary margarita cause you will need it! read more

Went on one of their trips/tours to the Pantages to see "The Book of Mormon." Ernesto the driver was very nice and as was David the tour guide. All went like clock work. Nice to have someone else navigate in LA "rush" hour traffic. They made enough stops to stretch, have a bite to eat to break up the trip. It was a full day and my first Day Tripper tours. The Sunnylands/Annenberg tour at Rancho Mirage on May 30, 2018, led by Christina with Ernesto driving, was amazing, and will be a part of continuing reflection and reverie. Janice Lyle's masterpiece graces my small condo coffee table! Reliving this fabulous experience will be ongoing through the beautiful photos and fascinating history. Christina was a living "Wikipedia" of fascinating geographic, historic, scientific, sociological, etc etc etc information. We were treated graciously and well while traveling. Ernesto followed off-freeway scenic roadways from Riverside County into the Coachella Valley for a very comfortable drive. While at Sunnylands and touring the spectacular estate - exuberant, skilled, informative guides and staff treated guests royally!
