Went here for a so called Easter brunch buffet. For $20 I didn't see how it could go wrong. It started at 12:30 and was supposed to go until 3:00. They ran out of many items by 1:00. They were literally telling people when seating them to pretty much go easy on their first round because there were over 100 people that needed to eat. People were assured after everyone went through it would be restocked. So that's what we did, and pretty much nothing was restocked. Had one rather small plate of food and left hungry. It was a joke. Not saying this place isn't great to grab a bite to eat or a few beers on a normal day, but for an Easter buffet they failed miserably. It was an annoying bust! I was under the impression this was the first year they did this so I wasn't going to leave a bad review. I figured they had some bugs to iron out- that assumption was incorrect. This was not the first year and based on that there is no excuse for how this was handled. If they do this again next year I wouldn't even consider going back. Met here for a Mt Holly High class reunion. A separate section was set up for the 50 attendees. It was laid out well to be able to move around and visit with classmates not seen in years. Tables were decorated, though probably by the Reunion committee. There was a drink bar set up with coffee, tea, and water. Again, probably set by committee. Next door was a bar area and this particular Saturday an Antique & miscellaneous tables were set up for sales. Since it was October, the place was all decorated up for Halloween. I would never have come here if I wasn't invited by friends, but I'm glad I was. The food is absolutely amazing and I would say step up from traditional pub fare. I prefer cider, so the sweater weather cider was right up my alley. It tasted amazing If there was any negative, it was that there was a band there and, after a bit it became way too loud to actually enjoy the company of my friends while there. Conveniently located - great outdoor space and really big inside! Great beer and good food

It was pub food, the drinks were fine, but the air conditioning was conveniently broken in just one portion of this massive brewery. They had all of the black people jammed inside the hot room that was literally 102 degrees. The other rooms were air conditioned and nearly empty. You may wonder why Traust even earned two sad pity stars. Well, frankly it's, because this is the south. I am sure the owners are Trump supporters and it is what it is. I am holding space in the event that these people are not racist, just completely and woefully incompetent. In fairness some blame can be shared with the event organizer for not insisting that the event was moved to a space with working AC, but ultimately it falls on the manager for being inhumane or either incompetent and allowing people to suffer when they could have made different arrangements. He or She could have done absolutely anything to try to make the patrons comfortable. I ended up leaving the event to wait in the car because I have working sweat glands. The event was for a children's charity, but the venue manager had no heart. They should have done better. Any gesture of goodwill, hospitality or kindness would have helped to assure that the patrons affected wouldn't have felt undervalued but nothing was offered. I know when I'm not welcomed. read more

This was a fun spot! I met friends that I hadn't seen in awhile here for drinks and snacks. I loved how the space was decorated for the holidays and whatever Christmas playlist that was playing had bangers, but not the traditional holidays songs. The beer was great and the food was fantastic. We got the pretzel with mustard and blooming onion. The pretzel was crisp on the outside with a nice crunch but the inside was so soft and pillowy. Now the blooming onion was MASSIVE and the sauce that it was served with was fantastic- Mayo based with a little tang - wow. Three total people and those 2 things were perfect for us. The full menu looked wonderful so I don't think you can go wrong. All waitstaff was great and quick with orders. Tuesday might be trivia night weekly and there was even a tattoo pop up. read more

I've heard this is a great place to have drinks so maybe just come here for the drinks. The food especially the meat looks like it came from a frozen bag of Tyson grilled chicken strips. The food tasted like a high schooler went to Walmart,grabbed an assortment of pre packaged meat, and made a meal. My first experience with Traust was the Clt S'macdown. They were a vendor for their beer. My husband and I had the Pineapple IPA and fell in LOVE. Honestly, one of my favorite IPAs of all time. Fast forward to today. I was so taken with the beer, that when I saw Offline Charlotte had a deal, I had to try! This afternoon, we went in for lunch and strictly for food. We are sticking to dry Janauary, but doesn't mean I wasn't thinking about that Pineapple IPA the whole time Service was great. I ordered a grilled chicken salad and my husband had the Birria Tacos with a side of fries (separate). Everything came out hot (except for the salad of course ). The food was pretty good. Stopped into Traust Brewing in Mount Holly, NC after going on a sunset kayaking outing on nearby Mountain Island Lake. Was also treated to the Full Moonrise, so it was a #spooktacular treat to be greeted by it flanked by Jupiter and shrouded in clouds when arriving! The exterior was decorated in several skeletons posed in various positions, and the inside was full-on Halloween mode, which I loved! Food & Beer QR Menus are on every table, and it is counter service. While I usually do NOT like this setup, my experience here was fantastic! I was starving from the aforementioned kayaking excursion, so I put in my food order and then came back once I perused their beer offerings. The staff could not have been nicer, especially the beertender! They brought out my flight of four (served in an awesome Oseberg Viking boat flightboard!), and my honey sriracha w/ranch side chicken waffle cone came out super fast, and while messy, hit the spot! The beer names were also viking themed, and they were all spectacular! As a follow up to my previous review, things have not gotten better. We recently went back to open mic hoping to find better service and a changed attitude yet somehow it seems to have gotten worse. Apparently open mic was told they couldn't play inside even though it was raining. The bartender took it upon themselves to be rude and hateful saying they had the authority to cancel the event. I seriously don't understand how this place stays open. And honestly don't bother trying to take part in any of their markets as a vendor either because they'll cancel and not tell you. We've been going to Traust for a while, and unfortunately, I think the food quality is trending in a negative direction. The beer has remained solid, but the food menu continues to get smaller, and at our last visit, everyone at the table agreed that it's gotten worse. I ordered a burger, that was supposed to be two 4oz smash patties... and ended up with two 4oz thick "slider" sized patties stacked on top of each other. I understand a tall burger when you start getting creative with the toppings, but I think the cook missed the "smash" part about cooking these burgers. Several other options have disappeared off the menu (I think there was a Viking burger, and meatballs that are gone) and the other patrons I was with had Philly cheese steaks that looked like there was no thought in the quality of the rolls or how it was put together. Overall, it's still "decent" food for a brewery, but we've been coming for a while and have steadily seen the quality decrease. Given the other dinner options in the area, it's likely that we won't be dining at Traust unless the food improves back to their original quality. read more

The Swiss cheese looked and tasted like a piece of laughing cow cheese. The mushrooms were okay. And for a slow Saturday afternoon they should have been a little better with the slow service. I hope this review reaches the owners. Your staff was lovely and your beer is great. However...... I ordered an $8 beer, after tax my bill came to $8.56 and I paid with a $20 bill. I should have gotten $11.44 in change. But instead I was given $11 in change. When I asked for the rest of my change I was told, "we don't have any coins in the register so if I owe you less than $0.50 I just keep it." You're charging me for the beer, I'm paying tax on that beer and then I'm charged an extra $0.44 on top of that and then have to tip. I told the server if she would give me the right change that I would give her $1 as a tip (I always tip $1 per beer) The server takes a dollar out of her own pocket and gives it to me, I handed it back to her as the tip. You are short changing your customers and your servers. I know it's only 44 cents, I don't care about 44 cents, but that's not the point. Either round up your customers change if you cannot provide the correct change, or add the tax into the cost of your beer. read more

Since moving nearby a few months ago Traust has been our go-to place. I love that they have tons of parking close by and the service is always fantastic. All of the employees are nice and they are on top of everything as well as knowledgable about the menu. We have tried a bunch of items on the menu and each thing has been great. The dips, chips, tots, fries, burgers, salads, seriously everything is great. The beer is good and if you aren't in the mood for beer they also have a full bar. Insane prices for mediocracy. Be warned. On one of their products, I looked it up and was stunned to see they sell it for a 484% increase from market value. Food is very high in price. They do not serve Tea. If you order water it comes in a 6oz plastic cup and you have to go to the bar and refill your cup yourself from a 3 gallon pitcher stand. The wings were delicious for 50 cents each. I would not pay $10 for 6 wings though. If you have more than 6 people you are forced a 20% gratuity. I don't find that fair considering I had to get my own drink and refills and we saw our waitress maybe 3-4 times (two of those were getting our drink order and food order). What is there to say about this place except that it's amazing. It's wings are second to none, and they're only $8! (1/2 price on Sundays!). They have a nice diverse food menu as well, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They have a wide variety of beers, including a great take on everyone's childhood favorite, Ecto Cooler! Aidan, Becca, and Courtney are fantastic bartenders/servers and even better people. (Rest of staff is great too!) If you want a wonderful place to eat and drink in beautiful downtown Mt. Customer service review This is a newer taproom in the area, but I wanted to try it because it is woman owned and that is just SO COOL!! Everything was good and I'm sure that things will only get better. The service though was great!!! We had lots of questions about the different beers and just questions about the area. Everyone was so kind and friendly and able to even give recommendations of things to do around town. I cannot wait to see thing place flourish !!! Give it a try and remember that right now things are crazy so have patience. Know that if something is not to your liking, kindly let them know. They will make it right. Super cute place with amazing appetizers! We did our office Christmas party here. The Brussels sprouts.. BIG FAN. Our server was so great and very attentive. The fried pickles were kinda salty but i still ate it. There was nothing left from the apps. It was that good. The pork chops were great but always a hit or miss for it being a little dry but the salmon was definitely the winner here. It was smooth, rich and creamy and I was skeptical at first because I wasn't a goat cheese person.. but I couldn't even taste it with all of the other Cajun flavors this dish had! Get it. read more
