Fun event nights
Christine G.

We were visiting Belmont downtown today and stopped in on Sunday around 1pm. We saw a lot of great choices in the area, and thought we would start here in the old brick building. Love the atmosphere here. We started off with the pretzel appetizer with beer cheese. Huge pretzel! Also, delicious. There were a few items on the menu they were out of. I think it was about 3 or so sides not available, but having never been before we understand after a probably busy Saturday night, they would run out of some popular sides. Not an issue. Maybe keep this in mind if you visit on a Sunday. We tried the chicken sandwich with cheese curds(a good sub for the tots), the Cuban, Tacos ( had the pork and chicken) and a Philly shroom sandwich. All terrific. My son loved his Philly with the grit cake side. He said it was the tastiest mushroom sandwich he has had. This place has a lot of amazing beers offered and people were taking advantage of the beer menu. We didn't try the beer, but we were glad we tried the food here. After lunch, we had a lot of energy for walking downtown. Hoping to taste some of the sides they were out of next time.

No opportunity for food today, but amazing service & ambiance...not to mention the company! Great to see old (not old) friends on #nationalselfieday !

This rating is just for beer and customer service. Both are great. It seems like a wonderful place to spend a day during the weekend, eating and relaxing with family and friends. Service was great. Next time, I'll grab food. They say the boneless wings are a fave.

Beer - still awesome. They changed their food menu :( I don't know if it's a different chef/kitchen crew, but it's not the same. Menu prices went up (which I understand) but the quality/value went down. My go-to was the BLT (but just BL for me). I got it and it was vastly different from previous times. Very little bacon, overly sauced, toast instead of the bun. They also took their Mac and cheese off the menu. It was delicious, went perfect with their pulled pork, and was a staple for the kids menu. There were some other changes, but it was a bummer to see. We will certainly come here for beverages, but I'm not sure the food was worth the price we payed the other night.

Another gem found on yelp! We came to Belmont looking for new restaurants and what caught our eye was the menu options. While beer is always a plus the flavors and variety of options available. We started with the pretzel which is the size of a pizza platter. The beer cheese was to die for but mustard is also a viable option. The pretzel comes season with primal seasoning which is the best part about it! We also ordered the Cuban flatbread which was perfect. The base is made of a very fluffy dough which was amazing. You can find your usual toppings of Pickles, onions pork and mozzarella. We should have ordered two of these since we were left craving more. We will have to do more exploring of the beer menu but we will definitely be back.

First visit 5/14/22 We enjoyed a couple beers a split the chicken sandwich with a side of tater tots! Service was a bit off, as with everywhere they are short staffed. The 2 girls working were hustling and did a great job trying to keep up. The food was great and the beers cold. Lawnboy Lager for the win!

Pumpkin beer with Carmel sugar rim. Perfect for fall!

A must stop in Belmont if you're looking for good beer and great bar food. I came with my dog on a Sunday so we sat outside. GREAT patio btw. Plenty of space and open tables. Didn't get a chance to go inside but it seems big from the outside. Service was outstanding. I'd come back just for that reason, no need to though because the food & drinks were just as good. I've been on a sour/fruited beer kick lately, I was a little disappointed they had nothing like that but opted for a pumpkin seasonal beer which came with a caramel- cinnamon sugar rim. It was better than I expected! Would get it again. Alright the food- YES. They have QR codes you scan for drink/food menus. On their menu is a disclosure that they pride themselves on using local ingredients. You could taste the love that was put into their food! I had the blackened chicken sandwich (add maple bacon & goat cheese!) with a side of onion rings. They make their sauces with their beer! I had a cream ale aioli of some sort and some spicy ketchup- I think made with one of their brown ales. The sauces alone stole my heart! They have a dessert menu and do seasonal desserts. I'm a sucker for anything but ordinary and my server mentioned a Beeramisu. Tiramisu made with their pumpkin beer. Had to have it. Ordered it go and it was such a huge portion it lasted me a few days. Overall a great visit. Makes me curious to see how other locations they have compare!

R&D 103 Golden IPA

Great spot for hanging out! The beer selection was on point. We tried the Lil Fuego Habanero Lime ale, R&D Golden IPA, Primal Witbier, Pojo IPA and Primal pale ale. Each one had its own character, but the Lil Fuego was by far the most unique. Boneless wings with Buffalo sauce were good- the blue cheese sauce stole the show. It had real chunks of blue cheese in it and great flavor. The fish tacos had nice crunch from the mix of shredded carrots and cucumber. I opted for the corn tortillas and they held together perfectly. Looks like the loaded tots, sliders and flatbreads are also popular. Lots of seating options- the deck outside and the indoor dining area had a mix of smaller tables and plenty of larger tables. If you have a group, they have room. There was a baseball team at one end of the deck when we were there. There is also a game room inside with lots of arcade favorites. On the Saturday we found this spot, they had several tents for local vendors. Parking was plentiful in the gravel lot behind and around the side of the building.

Fish Taco and Pub style nachos !

Fish tacos were delicious and the toppings on the pub nachos were top notch! Beer was really good but not cold enough . Nice outdoor patio that is dog friendly. We would diffidently go back if we ever visit Belmont again !

Boneless wings with Sweet Heat sauce

Hey what do you do when your flight doesn't leave for 4 hours? You could do the breweries at the airport (actually cool they have them). Or try one close by! 7.4mi to be exact. 2 flights and then I got to catch one! 14 beers on draft so narrowed it down to 8 2 best in my mind were the Pojo and the Lil Fuego. Order of boneless wings and visit was complete. Located in old brick factory building. Indoor and out seating

POG Grenade Fruited Gose
Tyree H.

Let's start with the PROS: The fried pickles are fantastic. The pickles have a garlic taste, but not an overpowering flavor. The cheese curds are great, but the sweet heat sauce that you dip them in makes them phenomenal! (Which leads me to believe the boneless wings tossed in that sauce would be equally as amazing.) And the POG Grenade Gose was one of the best beers I've ever had! I'm a fan of sour and Gose beers, and this was top notch. The bartender/server that helped me was attentive, and very friendly and approachable. She had a great attitude, and never seemed like she hated her job or got aggravated even when I took a moment to mentally debate which beer I wanted. The bar/dining area is open and not overcrowded. The tables have comfortable chairs (which is a big plus, because some bars/restaurants seem to purposely use uncomfortable chairs so you don't want to stick around longer than it takes to quickly eat a meal). The music wasn't too loud, and unlike some places, it was music that I enjoy. And even though I didn't take advantage of the game area, it was there and I'll probably go back just to play. Now for the only CON: The Lemon Haze Pale Ale is awful. There's NO lemon flavor in that beer. It tasted like cloves. I took two sips of it, both sips made me think about Christmas dinner in my childhood when someone had put way too many cloves on the ham and all I could taste were cloves (core memory unlocked), and I decided there was just no way I could choke that down. When the bartender/server came to check on us, I asked her if I could just get the POG Grenade again because the Lemon Haze tasted horrible. She said sure, took the awful beer away, and brought me the much better brew. What she didn't do was remove the beer from my tab. I feel like the right move is to take the beer off the tab since I only took two sips. If you go to a restaurant, and your food is bad (and you don't eat it, but rather send it back), the restaurant doesn't charge you. And I've been to other bars/breweries that did the same when the beer they serve isn't good. If I had drank half or more, I'd understand still having to pay for it. But having only taken two sips, still being charged left a much more bitter taste in my mouth than that bad beer did. Overall, not a bad place. I will be back for those fried pickles and cheese curds, and most likely some boneless wings. And plenty of the POG Grenade.

Loaded Crispy Keg Tots
Jennifer D.

Very cute place with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options. Chill vibe, several beers on tap. I had the Primal Ale and it was great. The stout was a bit sour but overall decent. Also ordered the loaded tots and the pork sliders. Wanted the flatbread but they were sold out. Tots were amazing and the sliders were very good too- the rolls were super soft! The bartender and waitress were both super personable and quick all around. Will be back again!

Pulled Pork Sliders
Abby J.

Some of the best BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders I've ever had. Paired with the beer cheese is just.. mouth watering. Loved this seltzer too, I usually don't like mango and loved this. Great service too!

Standout server, Ashley, was fabulous and accommodated my request for iced coffee, even though it wasn't on the menu. Seeing her hustle and serve several tables, it was clear she goes out of her way to make customers happy. Loved her! Tables were clean and spacious and my breakfast sandwiches with egg, bacon and gouda was really tasty. It was a lot of food for one person, with the potatoes side too. A solid meal before flying home. I didn't try any of their brews because it was early and I was working...but next time!

Discovered a great German style Biergarten when visiting Charlotte, The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery…read morewhere the staff are welcoming, attentive and knowledgeable on the beer and food selections. The German biers are some of the best I've tried. Both the Cooper altbier and Hornets Nest were excellent while their porter was a little too heavy for me. There's a full bar for the non beer drinkers . OMB features a huge selection of food items including German classics like pork schnitzel, wursts and the Bavarian or classic Jumbo pretzels. I'd recommend the sampler plate with the Jalapeño Cheddar Bratwurst as one choice ( you get three) and Jumbo Pretzel with Cooper Bier cheese & Düsseldorf mustard. The sides, such as their German potato salad, red cabbage and sauerkraut are very good. In addition theres a good selection of sandwiches, burgers, salads to choose from. The outside venue is amazing with ample outside seating featuring a fire pit, corn hole ( collect bags at the bar), children's playground and a water station for pets. Overall a great place to grab a beer and enjoy some authentic German style food at reasonable pricing. In addition OMB features private rooms for special events. One note parking could be problematic when it gets busy on weekends or special occasions but if you're willing to walk you'll find parking somewhere .
