I recently participated in the Jingle Bell/Elf escape room at your establishment on Sunday Jan 12th. While I was excited to try out the escape room, unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations.  Here are some specific concerns we encountered: 1. Some puzzles were either overly ambiguous or lacked logical connections, making it difficult to progress.  Example) My elementary age son finding the main key to the main puzzle box within 10 minutes. Another example, The helper elf not being able to physically solve the glass puzzle with our free puzzle pass,  and instead she just told us the code combination.  dr 2. The actual escape room lacked technology & fun surprises. My family loves escape rooms and this was the first one we have visited that didn't have a secret lock door that opened to another area or clue! No special lighting or music. All the clues were inside of literal boxes that had combination locks on them to open. 3. After solving the escape room with 25 mins left on the clock we were left disappointed with staff recommending we tip on the way out.   We were looking forward to a fun and challenging experience, but unfortunately, the above factors detracted from the overall enjoyment. I wanted to bring this to your attention, as I'm sure you strive to provide the best possible experience for all your customers.  I hope this feedback can be helpful for future visitors. read more

Absolutely amazing! My dnd group went and did the Buried room and it was a blast! The actor in the room with us did an amazing job! The puzzles were the perfect level of challenge and the decorations were great! Only thing I wish I knew before hand was we could tip the actor, I don't have Venmo and didn't have cash on me so I wasn't able to tip. I'm gonna make sure that actor gets a tip the next time we go before we even get in the room! read more

First review of 2020! The place is hidden. On our navigation it said "arrived" but the place has NO sign on their building they have a little ass sign in the window that's black & white. We had to go across the street to the liquor store to ask the clerk if he knew where this specific place was. We tried calling the establishment to speak to someone but there was nobody available to talk to. Our appointment was 8:30 pm and we made it well before the start time but for some reason they started without us, the woman in charge of the escape rooms was shocked when we said we were there for our 8:30 pm and apologized. We were honestly reasonable about it all and went along with it. She rushed us when it came to the briefing, we had no idea what to do at all when we got into the room. Just picture starting a group project and everyone has a task that's already been started and then whatever is left you can complete, it sucked because everything we found was already found and the team already inside were well established on what to do. We felt like lost puppies and that's not cool, we lost and ran out of time and honestly felt we would have won if we had a chance. They ended the game and apologized yet again because they knew they were wrong, we drove almost an hour away and paid money for nothing. They offered no refund or a rescheduled game, shameful. Will not be coming back, and neither should any of you. read more

What a neat thing to do. I feel compelled to write a review because I had NO CLUE what to expect before I participated in my first Trapped experience, and I genuinely had a good time. This review is specific to "Sacked," the Christmas themed room, but I'll share a bit about the whole place as well. The first puzzle you may come upon is finding the place. GPS, Google, and my friend's directions got me to the correct location, but I still could not find the place without walking around for 5 minutes. (Note: If you get to the shopping center that it is located in, park in the angled part of the L shaped plaza. Walk through the angle to the other side of the plaza and voila!) This will be the first of many puzzles. When I was inside, I signed a waiver and gave up my cell phone and met many new folks. (I went by myself and I don't regret it.) On the wall, they have a half dozen or so locks that have clues and puzzles on how to open them. All different kinds of locks and different kinds of puzzles, I suggest you familiarize yourself with them. There was a lock that I had never seen before and I had no clue how to use it or reset it. Now is your time to ask. Once we were let in the room, the action started. Now, this room was a small room, 12x15 max. The actor started and was great. It really set the mood and the story on how to get out. Next up, flip the room upside down looking for clues and figuring out puzzles. It was semi-chaotic but a good chaotic. There is no way just one person can figure out the clues in the allotted time (60-minutes). The puzzles and clues were fun. Some were easy and others you had to figure out piece by piece. I was able to solve 2 or 3 of the puzzles myself, so I felt that satisfaction that I helped out a bit. I also helped with solving riddles and deciphering clues as a group. During the 60 minutes, we were reminded periodically how many minutes were left and let me assure you, THEY FLY BY FAST!!! Once you are in the room, there is no ability to chit chat with folks because you are focused on getting out. If I had a hang up, and I don't really, I would just request a longer experience. I felt that 60 minutes was over so quickly and my brain was just getting warmed up. I will definitely go back and experience all the other rooms. Now I have an idea of what to expect, I am bringing my thinking cap with me next time. My challenge to the owners is a 90 minute plus experience, or even a room that unlocks to a different room... hint hint. ;) Thank you to Trapped Toledo for spicing things up and providing a really neat experience. My last suggestion is to plan the rest of your evening or even plan on two rooms in the same night if available. You will have fun. read more

Husband and I took 3 other couples as part of our 25th anniversary celebration. None of us had been before and knew very little of what to expect. It was such a fun experience! Our team worked good together and we were able to escape in 48 minutes. Definatley going to try the other two challenges. You will even get a coupon for a free visit in your birth month! Side note; it gets really warm so leave your jacket in a locker. No phones/pictures allowed either. Small space also, in case you're claustrophobic. read more

This is a great group activity! I thought it was going to be claustrophobic but we did Rescued 3 Agent X and it was totally fun. We had 8 in our group and escaped with 13 seconds left. Definitely work together and divide and conquer. And have fun with it. Make sure to use the facilities before being locked in. We will definitely do this again. read more

This place is PHENOMENAL. I went with a group of 10 for my girlfriend's birthday and we had a blast in the Locked Down 2 The Mutiny room. First you have to find the place though, which is a bit of a trick in itself. If you park in front of the Burger Bar then you can just walk past the barbershop and take a right and it'll be around the corner. My first comment is about the wonderful staff. They did a fantastic job of keeping everything moving smoothly and prepping us for the experience. They laid out the rules in a very clear manner and were refreshingly friendly the entire time. As for the puzzle room itself it was a work of art. The decorations were great and had a perfect ambiance only heightened by the actor that accompanies you in the room. The riddles and puzzles themselves were tough but not impossible and got the brain working. My group managed to succeed with a mere 40 seconds left. The entire time was energy filled and simply a great experience. I give my highest recommend and will CERTAINLY be back. read more

This is something new and different for Toledo! A small business run by local young people, a visit to Trapped! Toledo will challenge even the best puzzle solvers. I went with friends, and we're all pretty good with puzzles, but we still blew up (we went to Blown Away). Our group wasn't bad, and it cost about the same as going to a movie but was much more fun. Finding them, around the back corner of the building, was the hardest part. read more

It was awesome. Some advice, when you are planning this trip try your best to fill all 12 spots with your friends. My group of 6 merged with another group of 6 and it did not work out, and ran out of time because our 2 sides did not communicate with each other. But I would DEFINITELY suggest this for any birthday, party, or just get together... thank you Trapped Toledo for this opportunity and you will definitely see me again one day! read more

If I could give zero starts I would. Been here twice, and both times were just bad boring experiences. After recently going and getting tagged by the "zombie" in the first minute of the activity, which results in you having to sit out on the side spectating your group for the remaining time. I was disappointed after watching for the whole hour, as the zombie refrained from touching anyone else when they had plenty of opportunity too but I guess didn't want to ruin additional people's fun. I also feel I was targeted because of my race, I was the only person of color out of a all white group, and being a good sport I say on the side and respected the rules, but still feel heavily targeted because of my skin. I would never ever recommend anybody ever waste their money here, and I will push everyone who asks me trapped toledo as far away as possible. Only wish I have is that I never wasted my money. read more

Fantastic time. We did locked down 2 worth a pirate scene. You are locked in a cell and must solve puzzles, figure out clues, and work as a team. It does matter who your group of people are so make sure your friends are fun. The actor was fantastic. read more

Was looking for a unique experience while in town recently and came across Trapped Toledo. In a nutshell, they lock you in a room with up to 11 other people and you work as a group to solve puzzles while a zombie attempts to infect you. If the zombie catches you, you are "dead" and can no longer search for clues. You get one hour to solve all the puzzles. If you fail to solve the puzzles and unlock the door, your group perishes and you lose. No spoilers, but the puzzles are really challenging. Our group had a hard time with the puzzles. I'm not super bright so I especially struggled and largely ran about the room avoiding the zombie whose chain gets longer every few minutes. Even though i was of little value to my group, I really enjoyed myself as did our group. Seems like having a group of people you know makes it more fun since teamwork is needed. We had a great time and it is really well done. The zombie actors do a pretty good job of making it feel real. They also have a room where you solve puzzles to try and diffuse a bomb. No zombies in this room. I plan on trying this room next. If you like to solve puzzles and are reasonably bright, I think you'll have fun. Something different to try. read more

My boyfriend and I went twice so far and definitely plan on going back. It definitely is better if you know everyone you are in the rooms with but not necessarily needed. First we did the locked down #1 for his birthday and almost got out and tonight we did the infected #5 and we got infected, so even though we didnt make it out yet we still had a lot of fun. Definitely recommend this for any group. read more
