While I was excited to try out the escape room, unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations.  Here are some specific concerns we encountered: 1. Some puzzles were either overly ambiguous or lacked logical connections, making it difficult to progress.  Example) My elementary age son finding the main key to the main puzzle box within 10 minutes. Another example, The helper elf not being able to physically solve the glass puzzle with our free puzzle pass,  and instead she just told us the code combination.  dr 2. The actual escape room lacked technology & fun surprises. My family loves escape rooms and this was the first one we have visited that didn't have a secret lock door that opened to another area or clue! No special lighting or music. All the clues were inside of literal boxes that had combination locks on them to open. 3. After solving the escape room with 25 mins left on the clock we were left disappointed with staff recommending we tip on the way out.   We were looking forward to a fun and challenging experience, but unfortunately, the above factors detracted from the overall enjoyment. I wanted to bring this to your attention, as I'm sure you strive to provide the best possible experience for all your customers.  I hope this feedback can be helpful for future visitors.

The puzzles were the perfect level of challenge and the decorations were great! Only thing I wish I knew before hand was we could tip the actor, I don't have Venmo and didn't have cash on me so I wasn't able to tip. I'm gonna make sure that actor gets a tip the next time we go before we even get in the room!

There were several tricky clues, but we were able to figure it out. We truly enjoyed the challenge and the theme. We did escape the room, with about 9 minutes to spare. WOOHOO! The employee that assisted us was Isaac. He was very helpful, friendly, and informative. Thanks to him, our experience was great. I recommend coming here with a group of people to have fun! Teamwork makes the dream work.

As a fan of trivia, riddles, and the old-fashioned scavenger hunt, I was excited to try my grey matter at breaking out of an escape room. How hard could it be? Like the rooms themselves, the answer is not always straightforward. We were "locked" into the Ringmaster's Den with one hour to solve the puzzles that would provide us clues to crack our way out. Immediately upon entering the room, we began scouring every square inch and quickly got several good leads. The room itself was true to the theme - colorful fabric draped from the ceiling like the big top of a circus, and circus-themed items abounded, whether or not they provided clues. Circus music played in the background as we worked feverishly to break out way out in record time. It seemed that the clock speeded up as we approached the end of our time and tried several combinations to get our way out. We ended up being successful, and we got the photo at the end to prove it! I've tried several escape rooms, and I enjoyed the organized setup, the immersing themes, and the challenging hints that this one provided. For your next night out with friends where you want to do something a bit out of the ordinary, break out of your rut with a night at Breakout Escape Rooms!

Go to Trapped. Not to bury the lead but, I'd rather just wait for availability at Trapped. Only chose this place because Trapped was booked for the time slots I wanted. It's located in a big plaza with a mall, with decent decorations and the locks were reliable. That's about the end of my positive feedback. I did Elm St escape room with 4people(max is 6). You can choose story(infinite clues) or challenge mode(3 clues)- (which has a 0% success rate- let me tell you why). Because story mode also likely has a 0%success rate. By no fault of the players I suspect. Their intro is underwhelming, stating no clues will be above your shoulders or below your knees. Meanwhile, one of the first "clue" was hidden well above average shoulder height. The people who work here think quite highly of themselves and of their rooms. Their hints throughout the game are condescending and just barely helpful. At the end of most escape rooms I've done, the game master will typically explain how to solve the room or at the least, the current puzzle you are stuck on. We were specifically told the puzzle we were on basically needed a hint in order to complete (facepalm) and refused to solve it for us, stating we should return and try again, and pay the full cost again. But that we had completed about 80% of the rooms puzzles. Basically treated us like sore losers and tried to advertise their other rooms to us on the way out. There is no timer in the room to keep track of elapsed time. One of our clues took several minutes to arrive in the room which seems like a waste of our elapsed time. Additionally, all of your belongings including watches are confiscated and put into a locker to which the workers keep the keys. They even opened the wrong locker when we were done and nearly gave us other people's stuff. They also took our picture with his personal cell phone. (TBD on what that purpose was, will it be emailed to us later?. Or just used for marketing?) I've definitely done escape rooms where we haven't completed the challenge but still left feeling somewhat accomplished. That was not the case for this escape room establishment. Won't be back. What a bummer.
