I came into this shop looking for some new frames and unfortunately none were quite my style/what I was looking for. That's fine and that sometimes can happen. What was weird is that the optician seemed personally offended that I didn't find any of the frames to be what I was looking for. He nearly snatched the pair out of my hands that I had tried on and said "I don't know that these are my style." Even worse, he kept suggesting I try on/get the UGLIEST frames I've ever seen, and didn't like the fact I didn't have the same taste as him. I fully understand wanting a new customer but you have to understand, especially in buying something as personal as glasses, that the customer really needs to love them, not just find them fine. And don't try and push an expensive purchase on someone if they disagree with your taste. If you go here, be prepared for a pushy optician and a less than great buying experience. read more

I brought my '92 yo father for new pair of glasses. Because of macular degeneration and memory issues, he is extremely difficult to fit. Trapp is the only place that I would go for an eye exam for myself and my children. Dr. Harris has been working there for as long as we've been going. Probably close to 15 years. She is incredibly thorough and extremely knowledgeable. She is always up to date on the newest studies. Whenever my daughter needs contacts, Dr Harris is happy to call in the prescription and will even ship them for us when she is at camp We also love the selection of frames that the store carries. I highly recommend Trapp Optician in Rye, NY. The customer service that David provided was exceptional, he made feel very relax and found the perfect pair of glasses for me, yes I purchased two pair of glass. I explained I am at the computer all day and I needed bifocals, he then explained the differences in the bifocal area and what to expect. It was so hard to choose with his wide variety of choices however, I did need to choose. I had made the decision with a beautiful pair of "Michael Kors" frames with the help of David.
