Look at "Levy Michelle Dr PC" in Yelp for more reviews, and you will find my experience is not…read moreunique... HORRIBLE!! AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! I think it is fairly clear that Michele Levy and her office is very possibly in the practice of insurance fraud, or at the very least have highly questionable billing practices. Let me elaborate. I wear glasses/contacts, like much of the population, so I went to Dr. Levy for my annual exam. Everything went smoothly and normally. At one point during the exam she commented that my eyes were a little red, which I told her was due to a rather late night out and an imperfect job removing my eye make-up. She nodded, said something about being more careful, and that was it. Well after, when I go to pay my bill, the receptionist/billing woman states that this will be billed to my MEDICAL insurance as opposed to my VISION insurance because this was not a "routine" yearly exam, but a medical exam. I freaked out. The receptionist then read me a long complicated diagnosis which AT NO POINT was discussed in my exam. Now I am INCREDIBLY concerned. I asked how this possibly could be when Dr. Levy discussed NOTHING about this to me, and if there is something medically wrong which me that does not constitute this a "routine" visit and demands medical attention, I should be aware! The receptionist replied that ANYTIME someone's vision is less than 20/20 it means there is something medically wrong with that person. She stated that I should in no way be concerned, but that my visit was a medical, "non-routine" exam so they will bill my medical insurance. When I ask her to write down the diagnosis, she refused because "she is not a doctor". Now I am suspicious. I try to get the receptionist to explain what would possibly then constitute a routine vision appointment for a glasses wearing individual, and she kept saying anything vision is less than perfect, it is medical. When I pushed her to explain more, she ended up on an endless loop of "well I'm not a doctor, but you shouldn't be concerned, this is not a routine visit, we are billing your medical." At this point, I am beyond flabbergasted, and ask to speak to Dr. Levy. Guess what.... she is now conveniently absent from the office. I demand that she calls me, because if I have a diagnosis which falls out of the typical routine exam, then I have a right to know. Well later that day I get Dr. Levy on the phone. Apparently, because Dr. Levy commented that my eyes were a bit red, THAT constituted her "medical diagnosis" and thus it fell out of the realm of normal. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!! Well, conveniently, she backtracked on the phone, and then decided that, well, ok, she can bill this under my vision insurance. FURTHERMORE, my husband, a man who has NEVER WORN GLASSES OR CONTACTS IN HIS LIFE, was ALSO billed under medical with some other long complicated diagnosis which the receptionist refused to write down for us because "she is not a doctor". Now the picture is becoming clear. Do I have to also mention that medical insurance carries a higher co-pay and allows them to charge MUCH MUCH more than if an exam was "routine" under vision insurance? Also medical doesn't cover things such as contact lens fitting because that would be covered under VISION, so I was charged for that too. Oh and the retina imagining, also not covered by medical, but can be covered by vision, charged for that too. Want to order only 6 months of contacts? Not an option, have to order the whole year from their office or nothing at all. But apparently, they would let me use the deductible from the vision insurance for the lenses, so they are obviously billing vision as well. So all in all, what should have been about a $30 visit, ended up costing around $300...10 times more than what any previous eye visit I've ever encountered. Never go to this woman. Ever.

Extremely unprofessional. She and her staff are very rude…read more I highly recommend going elsewhere. She is a scam!
