I'll spare the details but the communication was awful. Im a pretty patient and understanding…read moreperson when it comes to mistakes but i began to get frustrated when what they were doing seems unethical. They increased the charge of my diagnosis twice and didnt mention the increase until after the fact. I just wanted my vehicle out of there and during the check out process i was almost overcharged $150 after disputing it. It was a mistake on their part but those mistakes occured throughout my entire experience. They also have an AI bot who takes calls and its very frustrating. They are also extremely over priced. As soon as i got my vehicle back i called other shops and they were a 1/3 of the price cheaper than what was quoted. Please spend your time and money elsewhere.

We brought our car in on a Saturday for a specific noise during light acceleration and an overdue…read moreoil change. After diagnostics, we were told the noise was from the CV axles (and that brakes were also needed). We agreed to replace only the axles, quoted at $1,600+, and were told the car would be ready Monday or early Tuesday. From there, communication completely broke down. We received no proactive updates. Multiple calls were routed through an AI system with no callbacks. When I finally reached a person, I was told the staff member handling our car had been out sick and that parts were delayed due to a storm. Totally understandable -- but no one called us, despite us coordinating work, school, therapy appointments, and Uber with one car. We were then told the car would be ready Wednesday, but again received no call. On Wednesday, we were told one axle never arrived and repairs would be done Thursday -- again, no prior notification. When I picked the car up Thursday and paid $1,500, the exact same noise was still present within a quarter mile of driving. I immediately returned. After initially being told it was due to not replacing the brakes (it was not a braking noise), they test-drove the car and then said the real issue was a gunked-up timing chain/belt, which they "fixed" with another oil change and flush. The noise stopped. That raises a serious concern: why were $1,500 axle replacements done when the original issue was misdiagnosed and resolved with an oil change? Had this been correctly identified, we would have made very different decisions. Between the misdiagnosis, repeated missed timelines, lack of communication, and unnecessary expense, this experience was extremely frustrating and left us without confidence in the work performed.

A friend recommended this place as a dependable, ethical mechanic. I called last week and he agreed…read moreto take me in first thing Monday. He said 5:30 AM. Much to my surprise he MEANT it! At 5:30 I pulled in and they were already into their first project of the day! He took my info and a description of the problem. I waited at the Waffle House across the street. Before I knew it I had a missed call from him. When I got to the counter he explained the problem, the solution, and another glitch he noticed and advised me on. I was aware something else might be going wrong but didn't understand what until he explained it. Don't make a mistake CALL Pat's and get it done right

What was once a great shop, has gone down hill - PLEASE READ…read more... I was a long time loyal customer, and Pat took advantage of me & lied to me.... I brought my car into Pat's to have some work done on it, including an examination of the cooling system which had been working perfectly, but I was just curious if it needed some maintenance. Previously, my cars operating temperature had never waivered even once. And for my job I spend a lot of time idling for long durations; not even in the summer did I have heating issues. Two hours after getting my car back from Pat's the temperature gauge spiked to the max, and my head gasket blew shortly after. I told Pat I would not expect him to replace the head gasket (a $2500 job), but I asked that he would at least refund me the $700 I spent for the services I had done. This felt fair as there was no way to prove the ultimate cause, but the timing was all to coincidental. Pat understood and said he would send a check out that day. The check never came, Pat ignored two voicemails from me following up. I cent a certified letter to his shop, which USPS returned to me saying they tried on 3 separate occasions to get a signature, but that none could be obtained. Pat damaged my car, cost me thousands of dollars, and just as bad lied to me. I had a great relationship with his shop and referred numerous customers to him over the years. So if he did it to me, don't think he wont do it to you. On a closing note, a few months before my incident, other friends I had referred to Pat's in the past took their cars there and both had terrible experience, which they attributed to Pat's new staff. Still, I wasn't deterred from taking my car to Pats. I should have listened to them. Please do not make the same mistake I made of thinking that you have taken your car there for years, it wont happen to you. Well, it will. If not now, sometime in the future.

I had this shop replace my oil pan gasket and do some transmission work on my 66 mustang, and they…read moremessed up both. My oil pan gasket leaks a ton of oil, and when I took it back to get it fixed, they blamed the leak on my oil pressure sending unit. When I got the car home, I cleaned all the oil off and the only leak was from the rear of the oil pan. The transmission work I had done they completely messed up. I had the bellhousing replaced, clutch fork replaced, and some other stuff. Recently, I noticed my clutch pedal feeling very heavy and my transmission started grinding when I shift. I pulled the transmission and found that Edwards hadn't put all the fluid that leaked out when they pulled the transmission. There was only 1.5 quarts, when there should be 3 quarts. And to top it all off, none of the bolts for my clutch where tight. Some were hand tight. Because of Edwards, my transmission is destroyed and I have had to replace it myself, and my clutch which was $1,000, is potentially destroyed. Do NOT take your car here

When I picked up my car, my emergency brake no longer worked -- technician failed to properly restore the vehicle to safe working condition. Owner then called me numerous times claiming I am being dishonest on my review and then, just today, threatened to sue me because I exposed the shop for faulty repairs. I will NEVER AGAIN allow Edwards Automotive to touch my vehicle for any reason. If you have a VW, you already know how difficult it can be to establish trust with any automotive…read moreshops for repairs/maintenance. I'm new to the area and I didn't have any connections or referrals to use when my VW needed help. I came across Ottohaus after some thorough internet searches, and I am so happy I did. 100% I will definitely be coming back in future - I wouldn't bat an eye anywhere else! My vehicle had some fuel injectors replaced previously from a mobile mechanic out of state, and started to act funny a few months later. They did a thorough inspection and fixed the issue. They even demonstrated the issue and correction for me when I came in for pickup. My car is running great so far and I couldn't be happier. From the receptionist Jill, to the mechanics who worked on my car - EVERYONE is so professional and knowledgeable. I am very pleased with their service, communication, and fair pricing! High recommendation from a VW CC owner for any euro-car needs. Thank you so much Ottohaus North for working with me, so far so good with my old VW.
