Spent over 4 hours getting a hair cut and color to cover my greys ... I showed the woman pictures of how I wanted it cut , she said fine . After the color , & drying my hair she did a chop job ! Left my hair like a bob NOT at all what I asked for and said you can come back if you still want it shorter. I was really tired by that time and hungry , I left thinking maybe I can work with it to look good as my sons wedding was the following weekend . $245.00 later If the person can't do what you ask they shouldn't even cut. When Marcella did my hair, I always came to hair transitions. After Marcella left, I followed her then she had to quit doing hair for medical reasons. I asked Marcella to refer me to someone and she did. This person I only let her cut my hair twice, she never remembered me or how I wanted my hair cut. Because of this I left and went back to Hair Transitions, that's when I met Taylor. The first time she cut my hair, I told her that I wanted it short with layers since my hair is very fine. Unlike the other lady Taylor knew what I wanted. I have not been back to see Taylor in a few months. Today when I went in she knew who I was and how I wanted my hair cut. dont get a haircut from TAYLOR. she may be good at other stuff but cutting hair aint it. I cried at home while looking at my hair and i had to go to another salon and get it fixed. it was so uneven and messy. Look at the "face framing" she did. a thick piece of front hair that she didnt even bother to fix. She was very good but the last time I went approximately 4 weeks ago she almost tripled her fees. I was always loyal to her and tipped VERY well ($30 - $40). I called this salon for 3 reasons : one it is close to my house, two it had good reviews on yelp and three they had Olaplex. Olaplex is a treatment you add to bleach so your hair wont break off. Marcella answered when I called. She set up a consultation and I booked some highlights on my bangs to brighten my look up. I think she did a very nice job. Taylor Thurgood was my stylist, I had her install ktip extensions that I purchased myself ($1200) she charged me for install and bleach all together $915. Mind you I was her first real client for this install method. Taylor thurgood guaranteed her work prior and said how confident she was .It was beautiful the first week, then ktips were falling out and than massive shedding, due to her not bonding the hair correctly. I spoke with a specialist who's been doing this method for years and she agreed that she did not bond correctly. They refused to refund me for the hair I purchased and Taylor Thurgood said she would only refund me a partial of the $915. She said she would Zelle. I began getting frustrated and asked a few times for my payment to be sent, no response until I called the salon. Taylor then again said she would send it "right now". I get a text within a minute saying "come in" I called and it was Debbie Haggerty yelling saying "no I'm telling you to COME IN" I come back in and she explains she called my hair manufacturer and I should reach out to them for a refund for the hair, and they said all 10 packs were faulty? How are all 10 packs faulty? and so now she believes Taylor does not owe me for anything after she agreed. Completely unprofessional experience. Taylor Thurgood also made racist comments during my installation making me feel uncomfortable. She knew the right thing to do but Debbie wanted to make sure I received nothing from this experience. All Taylor had to do was follow up and send the partial refund. read more

The ladies, and Mike at Transitions are a wonderful group of experienced, talented people. I have been a patron of the salon for many years, my first visit being in my teens and now I am in my 40's. Odete has been my hairstylist for 36+ years, I even traveled to Southern California to have my hair done by her when she lived there. I would like to take a moment to address the sad person, who now has posted two derogatory reviews about Transitions and defaming Odete. There are two sides to ever story, it is easy to sit behind a keyboard and paint whatever picture you like. Perhaps you should take a minute and consider the situation from a different view. You had your hair done, wanted changes made after you had been advised by Odete of the possible consequences of proceeding. She took extra time to do what she could to apease her client, which included, double processing your hair, and the cut you recieved. Did it ever occur to you that, products and her time costs? In my opinion, you come across as a very unhappy person, who didn't want to pay for services received. Then took to a social platform, not once, but twice to whine about it. At your age you should be ashamed of yourself. Funny you didn't mention how many times before, Odete had changed things for you and not charged you. I hope you can find whatever it is you need to bring you happiness to your life. You are acting like a spoiled child. Be blessed.
