The folks at Transfer For Less recently converted my family's home movies (8mm, Super 8, VHS, VHS-C) and audio cassettes to digital files. The job involved around 45 videos and 100 audio tapes. My requests were not simple, but they listened to what I needed and delivered exactly what I was expecting. They were able to merge audio tracks from tapes with 8mm film footage, resulting in video files containing the corresponding audio. I had 40+ Super 8 mm tapes of my kids growing up. I had put the task off for a long time, because I am tech challenged, and easily frustrated. I chose T4L, even though others were closer to me, based upon yelp reviews. I am glad I did. We have now transferred most of the tapes. At first, because of my fears, we did DVDs and upload to my external hard drive. As I became more adept, we eliminated the DVDs. We have also gone from MP4 format allowing easy upload, to a higher resolution which is a bit challenging to upload. Although I am still engaged in the process, I wanted to chime in with a very positive review based on contacts over the past two or three months. Cashlee and Jared have taken very good care of me, and I am confident that this daunting process will be finished up before triple digit temperatures become routine once again. I took a couple VCRs to Costco to get transferred. Waited a week or so, and got them back. They weren't able to transfer one of them because the VCR case was broken. Needed a last minute video made for my husbands funeral and hired them to make it. When we got there to pick it up they were closed. Today I went to pick it up and the girl was snotty and said she waited for me to pick it up and that she called me and my phone rang twice then nothing. Really? Misdial? Hang up and call again! The funeral is over, It's too late. And she was snotty and didn't even say thank you after I paid! Very insensitive! I was a wreck on the day of the funeral and she could have tried to make sure I got at least a phone call letting us know they were closing. The worst part was her attitude today! read more

They did a good job considering what we had to transfer. We had old Reel to Reel that had already been transferred to VHS and were OLD. Already did not look very good. They transferred and actually salvaged our 5 VHS Tapes and put on DVD's for us with copies to share. Everyone was thrilled to see our old beach pictures from CA in the 50's and 60's along with 70's. This was not an ordinary video (8mm VHS, etc.) to digital conversion. I had at least eight canisters of a 44 year old 16mm film, which might have an optical or magnetic sound track. It took some investigation to determine which reels to use and as it turned out, there was no sound track. Two reel-to-reel audio tapes had to be reviewed to determine which to synch with the movie. Transfer For Less provided exceptional service! They are experienced professionals, who patiently explained the process, possible glitches due to the age of the original, reviewed parts of the film to make sure its signs of deterioration would allow for a successful conversion and provided time and cost estimates. The did an excellent job of transferring the film, cutting out blank spots, synching the music and providing a quality product! They met both the cost and time estimates. I started the project with hope tempered by caution and finished with extreme satisfaction. My daughter took our home movies here to transfer onto a hard drive just before Christmas to give to my husband as a Christmas gift. When he went to watch them only the audio played. NO PICTURE! They were closed for 2 weeks for Christmas so we had to wait to go back. When I went back I also took my own home movies from when I was a kid and asked if we could get a discount for ruining my husbands Christmas present and the inconvience of the one hour round trip. The kid told me no because they are "fixing their mistake for FREE." A week later we picked them up again and the movies jitter and shake all over the place to where you get dizzy! So now we have to go back a third time!!! Same your money, time and gas! This place has horrible service. They are grouchy, condescending and always look mad when you are in there. Quality work at the most reasonable prices anywhere, In the past year we have had all of our old school VHS, VHS-C and 8mm videotapes transferred to DVD format. Technicians edit and correct scenes (remember those minutes on VHS when you forgot to turn off the camera and shot footage of the ground ??) Employees carefully mark media according to customer preferences and call to verify if/when they have questions during the transfer process - something we've not experienced with other transfer services TFL gives the customer an accurate time frame to expect work completed and original media, for those who still want to keep it, is returned in the same condition as it was brought in. I have never before been put off by a company like I am with this one. The owner definitely thinks that his product is way more valuable than his customers. He was rude and condescending. There are far too many groupon deals (www.groupon.com) out there that do DVD transfers for this company to blow off customers. This is a great company! Their normal pricing and service is second to none. We took in some old glass slides from the 1940's (my Dad's Navy days) and not only did they do a great job reproducing them, but they spent a LOT of time cleaning them in order to get the best quality. We also had some 8mm movies from the 50's and 60's, and they went out their way to get the editing just right and getting titles on the scenes. Due to a death in the family we asked for a rush on some items and did they ever come through for us! Not only were the rush charges more than reasonable, in some cases they had our files done in a matter of 3 hours! I would recommend Transfer for less for any kind of digital work. read more
