I've been going to see Dr Yen since she opened the office, and I'm really happy that I made the switch! First of all, Dr Yen is the sweetest person and always makes me feel like a dear friend when I visit. Secondly, the office is absolutely beautiful and they really try to make your visit a positive experience. When I filled out my initial application they ask what types of shows and music I like. Every time I visit, a playlist from my favorite band is already playing in the exam room which is a great touch. You can also watch Netflix shows during your exam. But onto the important stuff - the dental work! I really appreciate that Dr Yen, even with all of her fancy equipment and new-construction office, is not a pushy money grabbing dentist. She has always been very reasonable and thoughtful with her treatment plans, never pushing any unnecessary treatments or services, while also having great attention to detail during her exams and fillings (the only treatment I've ever gotten here so far).

For example, I was told my crown would cost about $300 but my insurance fully covers that. I'm told fillings cost $50 but again, my insurance fully covers that. I have to fight this every single time. It isn't until I ask for billing codes for my insurance company that they agree my insurance covers the procedures. Definitely makes you feel as of they are trying to take advantage of people, hoping people don't fully understand their insurance policies. And don't get me started on how they do NOT return phone calls! I've looked for a dental office with better business ethics and who takes my insurance and have had no luck So for now I'm stuck fighting poor business ethics.

Even…read morebefore things went downhill, I was terribly uncomfortable with the comments he made to his assistant while I was in the chair. "Look at her toes, aren't they nice. She's so thin don't you think?" Within 24 hours, I had horrific throbbing pain on one side of my mouth. I called the office to come back in for an emergency checkup. Dr. Tomlinson (who was much kinder and professional than her father) performed an exam and said that there was one more cavity that he had missed and did a filling for me. I went home and again, horrific pain. I went back in and Dr. Lawrence L was angry as he was doing my exam. Screaming at me. So much so that his assistant had to say "he's not mad at you.. etc etc." twice. I was a young, timid girl and was afraid to speak up even though I was terribly uncomfortable, upset, and still in pain. He said that it was because I was grinding my teeth that's why I was in pain. This is the worst, throbbing toothache you could imagine. I called a different dental office. After they did some tests, I was told that one of the tooth he drilled on had nerve damage and needed a root canal. I called his office, trying to choke my tears back while talking to the receptionist. She could tell I was in agony and referred me to an endodontist in Tacoma since I did not want to deal with Lawrence Ladowski's abuse anymore. The receptionist also sent me flowers. It ended up costing me thousands of dollars at his office for the fillings that caused me to need a root canal and another $1800 for the root canal at a different office. The worst part was a whole week of agonizing pain and the frightening, embarrassed feeling I was subjected to while being yelled at by this dentist while in his chair for being in pain that he caused. I am confused as to how 2 professional dentists could miss the fact that the pain was due to nerve damage on that tooth. I went to 2 different other offices and they figured that out right away. It has been a while and I am still so sad for the me that was too afraid to speak up when he was yelling and being unprofessional to me. I hope if you've had a bad encounter here, do speak up for yourself.
