Six weeks ago I was at a breaking point. I wanted to get in better shape, and yet I didn't-- I didn't have the energy or motivation to see even the simplest plans through. Stop looking right this second if you're looking for a new trainer. I started training with Kiara this past August when I was 4 months pregnant. I trained twice a week, every week all the way up to my induction date. Baby's now here and I'm on a doctor-order hiatus, but man do I miss it. Deciding to train with Kiara was absolutely the best decision I could have made for what turned out to be a difficult pregnancy. On days when I was tired and sore and cranky Kiara kept me moving and was always checking in on me after workouts to see how I was feeling. She records every circuit you do so that she can reference your progress at a later date to keep things moving during the workout so that no 2 workouts are the same. Although she offers virtual sessions I opted to train in person which had an extra bonus in that Kiara is fantastic company. She's got a great sense of humor and is super easy to talk to which made sessions fly by. Even though she has a nearly full client roster I always felt like her only client. Her space is well equipped and she even has a small fridge with cold eucalyptus towels (I used to have a Equinox membership and the eucalyptus towels were my favorite perk). Plus in these crazy COVID times she's done a fantastic job keeping her training space hygienic-- she deep cleans after every session and has a mask and sanitizer protocol when you first arrive to your session. To say Kiara is the best is an understatement. In addition to a great workout that targets every body part, Kiara uses a functional, precision fitness approach to look at your mobility and alignment. My years of do-it-yourself fitness worked, but also caused some creeping structural issues that were going to cause long-term damage if I continued doing exercises out of alignment. For example, when I started with Kiara my hips were highly uneven (something she measured and flagged). After six weeks of targeted exercises and Kiara's "homework" my hips were even, my ab strength increased and I no longer had those strange creaks when doing some movement. I have been working out with Kiara for over two years, and the change in my body has been remarkable. She helped identify some chronic imbalances in my gait, hip girdle, and other areas that have caused pain and have been impacting my general athletic performance for years! I cannot say enough positive things about Kiara. I started training with her in December of 2019 because my body just felt off and I needed help getting back on track again. She did a full comprehensive work up at the very beginning including measurements and a number of tests to gauge where I was at. By the end of February (training with her 2 days a week with the exception of some days off during the holidays) I was down 10 lbs of body fat and had gained 6 lbs of lean muscle, in addition to correcting the angle of my hips/pelvis to be even (they were off quite a bit which explained a lot about the imbalance I was feeling in my body but couldn't place). My training continued in person almost through March which is when the COVID-19 Pandemic sparked the decision from Gov. Newsom to shelter-in-place throughout California. I was worried it would affect my training since I could no longer train with her in person but she reassured me that she didn't want to see me lose any of the progress I worked so hard for and offered to do Virtual Training instead. So we moved pretty seamlessly into online sessions (for me via Zoom but she can use any platform that works best for you) where she is able to still check and coach me on my form, encourage and motivate me, and make sure I SWEAT!
