Update on my last review - I have been a member of Pilates Plus since 2010 and over time went from taking classes 2X a week to 3X a week. Now, I'm taking unlimited classes. The classes are high quality with diverse group classes. The atmosphere is like a community...sometimes even like family. Everybody is so friendly. There are so many regulars like me that just feel comfortable with the studio with new students readily welcomed in. I love the trainers - they do care for your well-being and making it a fun experience together. They easily cater to the different levels of their students within the same class making various suggestions along the way if you are a beginner, intermediate or more advanced. They don't hesitate to correct your posture or how it works without making you feel intimidated. If I'm having a tough time with an exercise, I don't hesitate to modify the weights or the actual move. I have recommended the studio to friends and family. I have friends that still come and are very grateful that I introduced them to Pilates Plus. My husband is a regular too. My daughter moved away but misses the studio. From a health standpoint, Pilates Plus has been a primary contributor to maintaining my personal fitness, excellent blood pressure and other important gauges of health. An update to my review regarding Carron M's demand for my credit card number after I purchased a Groupon deal. I asked Groupon for clarification regarding the fact that it does NOT state anywhere in the documentation for this purchase that I have to supply a credit card number, nor pay extra to schedule a class. Groupon responded stating that I should definitely NOT give my credit card details to any company that offers a special through Groupon. You have paid for the purchase through Groupon, there is no need for the company to demand your credit card number. Carron M should reread the agreement she made with Groupon before making demands from Groupon clients. read more

This studio has changed my body in the way I've always wanted. I've tried many other forms of exercise but nothing works like pilates! This studio uses the classic moves not the "jump" moves a lot of other studios use. Great instructors and a variety of different classes in addition to pilates. I just took a beginner class with Shannon and it was amazing. I am not very fit nor coordinated and she was very helpful and attentive. The class is small so this really helps. I'm also not very flexible and this is the perfect way to get a workout and help with that issue. I will be coming back and telling my friends. Management charges you over and above what you signed up for anyway when medical documentation has been presented and your account was supposed to be frozen. This will end up on your credit report and you will have an awful time trying to resolve it. Extremely poor communication between staff and clients and staffing changes do not allow good customer service to happen. Rude owner as well. I am a Pilates freak. Before I committed to my all time favorite Wundabar, I had Class Pass and tried multiple studios. When I came to Pilates Plus, I was so disappointed. Not only did the instructor end the class 7 minutes early, I felt like the class was very unsatisfying. I really wish I remembered the instructor's name. She was in her early 20's, but I guess that doesn't really help when signing up for classes. I do not suggest choosing Pilates Plus as your go-to studio. I didn't feel like I worked out when I went to the class. I didn't feel like the instructor was very attentive or even helpful. To be honest, I'm wondering how this place has such ratings. If my ass and abs had the ability to spontaneously combust as a result of the intense burn they felt during this 40 minute class..they would. This studio just opened in this area, which happens to be the new location of my office. I've tried PP in Brentwood and wanted to check the WV digs out with my co-workers. They're on the 2nd floor of a neighborhood center next to Massage Heights - plentiful parking and a clean, comfortable studio await. Great instruction by Carron who really guided us through a great workout. The only thing I would want more of is a quick warm up before hand. I was kind of sore from a work out from the other day and it could have helped. Since they just recently opened, there were just 5 people in class (3 of which were in my group), which was kind of nice because it was like a small private session. I recommend this workout to anyone and everyone who lives/works in this area. Support this business and she will bring definition and support to your A&A's (asses & abs). It looks deceptively effortless, but don't be fooled! My favorite part: plank & pike position with arms stabilized and core balanced on the carriage (mobile) part of the SPX machine. Whoa nelly, your abs will sizzle and burn out of control. I'm feeling it right now and it hurts so good! Per class & unlimited rates are a bit pricey, but if you can budget it in, it's worth it. Not to mention, if you take a class after work, it saves you the drive in rush hour traffic if you don't live in WV! PS: Treat yourself to a guilt free treat downstairs at Yozen Frogurt afterwards! Review below: LOCATION Great move from Lakes center to Sprouts. However-floor was dangerously slippery in Barre class, and made me feel not safe. Our instructor even commented on this. :( Pilates reformer machines are very nice and well-kept. PARKING Easy and nice. TEACHERS I'm used to WeHo Pilates Plus, with very knowledgeable teachers that adjust and correct each student as much as possible, every class, every instructor. One exception is Carron, the owner. I took her class a few times, and she's such a doll (and the reason for three instead of two stars). I loved her class. Incredibly knowledgeable and an awesome workout. SPX Pilates might be the best workout I've ever done and Pilates Plus Westlake Village is the perfect place to get started. The instructors are genuinely concerned about helping you get a workout which is effective while being motivating. Only 40 minutes long the classes go by very quickly and you end up leaving energized. After only 5 classes I began to see a difference in my body and stamina and can only imagine what a few months of consistent training would do. read more

Pilates can seem super intimidating at first, and I would highly recommend this studio if you are just breaking into the world of toe socks and 'teasers'. You will find a few of the pilates staples that seem unavoidable with most studios, namely quasi-uninterested teachers and lack of explanation on some of the moves, but all in all this studio is not as unfriendly to beginners as some that I've been to. If you can, try and finagle a spot in one of Carron's beginner classes. I would imagine they are amazing, although I never could manage to get in myself because they booked up so fast. That said, her regular classes are also great and she will provide you the modifications you need if you are injured (or pregnant, like me, which although not an injury, definitely makes pilates more challenging). Another instructor to try is Mahtab (her classes are varied and tough without feeling like she's trying to kill you). I started off with a Groupon but I'll definitely be coming back! read more

I have refrained from giving this studio a review on YELP and the accolades it deserves, mainly because I was concerned that it would be even harder to get into the classes that fit my schedule. It was hard enough already! I started with the studio 2 years ago on a groupon, and never left. Carron gives an amazing class and truly gets to know the needs of her customers... True, it is not your typical pilates... it's pilates plus so much more. This is certainly the best 40 minute pilates-based full body workout in town for my money. Studio: clean and well maintained. Carron cares about her clients and does the needful to ensure safety and comfort at each of the locations she has been in. Facilities: clean bathroom with towels, deodorant, elastics... all the things that make a big impact for busy professionals or moms on the go. There is even a changing room. Parking can be an issue depending on the time of day. Happy hours at the Crown and Anchor tend to make parking challenging. Plan ahead. Instructors: In general, the instructors are very well trained and supportive in helping you meet your fitness goals. The only downside is that there has been some variability in the quality of instructors over the years. I recommend to find one that fits your personality and needs. Some instructors give a harder workout than others. IMO, when I can't move the carriage, maybe its time to call for a spring adjustment? Classes: nice variety, but I only ever took the different level pilates classes, and a pilates stretch class or two. I'm sad to say there is nothing in NorCal/Peninsula that has come close to this. I am a pilates beginner- i was referred by a client of mine who attends 5x a week. I was a bit hesitant due to the fact it's hard for me to commit to something long term but after my first class with Carron, i was hooked. I have been working out at the gym for weeks now and never felt sore until i took Carron's Pilates class. Not only is this location super cute, the instructors make you feel comfortable and their schedule system is super user friendly. I just recently took a class with Jasmine and it was tough! However, she made me feel comfortable and often reminds you that you can break if need be. So happy to be here! read more

I attended a couple classes at Pilates Plus. They were ok. I wish the instruction was a little better. For the price I won't be returning.

I love that they offer the Lagree method pilates here. They do have an older reformer but it still gets the job done. Some of the instructors don't correct your position which annoys me, but then there is others who are really great. The studio is clean and everyone is friendly. It's good for the location , just wish they would update everything including changing up some of the instructors. read more

Pilates Plus has been fabulous for me. I was new to Pilates and felt very comfortable after a beginners class - it was a perfect place to start. After an ankle injury, I had to take a few weeks off, and the instructors were wonderful about modifying my workout to accommodate this after I started back. The online registration process is convenient and the new 8 hour cancellation policy is great for those of us that have last minute scheduling conflicts (i.e. kids!). After a year at Pilates Plus I can honestly say I feel strong and healthy. I took two classes a week and felt great (and sore!) after each session. The stretching classes are great for when you need a break. How can a 50 minute class that burns all your muscle groups be a bad thing? I LOVE IT! read more

I love this studio! Below is a breakdown of my review 1 Star - For the environment being a very peaceful, professional, focused (non-catty) group of instructors and clients. I like the energy the owner has clearly worked hard to cultivate and maintain. I find all of the instructors to be professional, friendly and truly teachers of the craft. 2 Star - Cleanliness of the studio and accommodations. If there has ever been something that I've needed its always there. 3 Star - The instructors are clearly the best around. They understand such activities can be intimidating and frankly quite scary for new beginners and work to create an environment where you feel accepted and have the space to grow. 4 Star - The policies. I have to admit the policies for cancellation took some getting used to but I really feel while they create fairness for all of the students ($25 for no-show & 10 for late cancellation outside of the 8 hour window), in an interesting way, its keeps you committed. I think if I had a studio that did not have a late cancellation policy, I would flake almost every day and never meet my fitness goal. As a client of 6 months, I have found my commitment level to be very high in part (mostly) due to the policy. That is a huge win for everyone! 5 Star - I always read the Yelp and frankly the bad reviews of any establishment I seek to have a long term relationship with. I read the only bad review for Pilates Plus before going and was quite IMPRESSED with the integrity and tenacity of the owner when she was misrepresented by a prior client. That yelp review is actually what got me through the door! Other tips: If you don't have socks, you can always buy some cute ones in the lobby. * Monday night Barre class with Yvonne is AMAZING! * Any class with Carron is wonderful - she is fast but patient, always helping with modifications etc. * Parking is okay but you can usually get a spot near the studio (I'm always a little late) * Towels and water provided along with all equipment and accessories. read more

This place is AWESOME!!! Been coming for two months now and all I can say is WOWZA!!!! The workouts are thourough! My body still is "shaking" a few hours after I get home from a session... I had a baby 11 moths ago and my core is TIGHT now! My arms look great and my booty is loving the ass whoopin' it gets 3 times a week ;) Carron runs a CLEAN SHIP!!! She is most accomadating with pretty much everything! Her restroom has everything you need to head back to work or onto your next venture.... Mouthwash, deoderant, hair ties in case you forget yours, tampons and more! She didn't forgot anything! The machines run smoothly... and at the end of each class we wipe them down with disenfectant cloths. So happy I found this place! 40 min complete body workout~ Can't beat that for this busy new mom! Love PP Westlake. Carron is a magnificent instructor. There have been multiple times where I cannot master a move, yet she does everything she can to help make the move easier or more durable. I had 4 weeks to get into shape before a two week trip to Mexico. Eating more or less healthy, and 4Xs a week pilates plus, I looked amazing. I would recommend this workout to anyone and everyone, including men! My goal was not to get buff and bulky, rather tight, fit, and cut. With pilates plus, I managed to achieve and maintain my goal. As to all the reviews about the online website and how it is mandatory to require CC info, this is just the rules and how the business flows. Just because Carron has the CC info does not mean she is going to charge it without any transaction. Of course, in the beginning I was skeptical about providing my CC info, but after being a PP Westlake member for over 2 years, I can trust their team not take advantage of me or my CC info. Absolutely love this studio!! The teachers are incredible, challenging, and genuinely care about their students. I recommend this studio all the time. It's clean, and all the machines are high-end and very well kept. I feel motivated every class I take, and always look forward to the next :) Each teacher has a different style of teaching, so it never feels repetitive. Shannon is great for building muscle and getting toned and she is always giving verbal motivation- Allie always gives a challenging workout that makes you feel the "good sore" and Carron gives a thorough, energized workout that is never the same twice, I love her cycle classes. Those are the only teachers I have seen, but I'm sure they're all great! read more

This review is long overdue and if someone is looking for the right pilates place well this is it. Heres the story...so I have been doing pilates for a long time with a private instructor who had to leave and return back to her own home town. After she left I didn't think I would be able to find someone as good as her. I did, however, try a few private instructions but no one fit the bill, I was truly spoilt. Then I thought I would look into the smaller studios in the areas. I found 4 studio's which grabbed my attention and being as fussy as I am, I went to all 4. When I came to Pilates Plus I was greeted by the manager Averi, who really took her time with me, she asked all the right questions to understand my needs and wasn't pushy for me to join. To be honest I joined because of the customer service I received that day from her. I met the owner Carron, she is absolutely fantastic and really runs a tight ship and know her stuff. (btw I love her classes) The studio is very well maintained and super clean. There are not only pilates reformer classes here but there is something for everyone, including cycle, Barre, HITT, Yoga classes and more. Every instructor brings something different every time. You get such a great workout and no two workouts are ever the same. I love all the teachers here Marianna, Alexis, Katie, and Sissy. I just want to say Thank you to everyone, I feel so lucky to have found this hidden gem. read more

Carron was extremely rude to me because she thought I was trying to avoid payment when I had no idea my card had expired. She said to me in an email that she was "APPALLED" by my lack of response to her emails when in reality I was out of town and didn't get them until i checked my secondary email account! Aside from this weird behavior and lack of professionalism, the classes are truly MEDICORE AT BEST -- I'm used to Pilates Plus in West Hollywood where the teachers are trained to verbalize walking you through each position. I feel the teachers at this location are really lazy and half of them don't know what they're doing. They don't know how to teach students to recognize their form. I've done 10 plus years of ballet so if I'm confused during class, i can't imagine how those just beginning Pilates feel. If the teachers just call out the positions and expect you to know what muscles you need to engage, you're not learning from a true instructor. All in all, i would highly recommend you to visit YogaWorksLA down the street, they'll comp you your first class free. They gave me a free week to try just so I could have a difference experience. They want their students to come to class and leave happy. They would never treat customers rudely and most importantly, they have incredible bar classes and mat pilates! My body was transformed after 3 classes. Another studio just opened up that I used to go to in studio city-- it's called Wundabar (in Westlake Village). it's like Pilates Plus but 10x better. They give individualized attention to you and help you with your technique so that you're engaging your core at all times. hope this helped, i'm very rarely giving negative reviews but I had to speak up about this place because it was a waste of money and invested energy. read more

Pilates Plus Westlake Village is a top notch place to get an awesome workout in a short period of time! As a guy, I was skeptical stepping outside of my typical gym/running workout. But I had several co-workers that raved about these workouts, so I decided to give it a try and have been there ever since (over 14 months!). It is a great 40 minute circuit training, cardio, and stretching workout that really works my core in a way that I never was able to at the gym. I thought it was going to supplement my other workouts. However, this has become my primary workout and been great! The environment is welcoming and VERY clean. The fellow students are welcoming and friendly. The instructors are awesome with great positive attitudes. Each one has a little different flare but accomplish the same thing: A muscle trembling workout! You will really be amazed how quick the time goes by and how quick you see results (of course a good healthy diet is very important) The unique thing about this class is that it caters to such a wide audience. Whether you haven't worked out a day in your life, or you are a seasoned athlete, the insutructors are able to dial in your workout to a point that you are challenged (but NOT over-challenged to the point of discouragement or injury).
