After two years of widowhood, I desperately wanted to get back into shape, but knew joining a gym…read morejust was not for me. I've gone that route before, only to find a million excuses each day as to why something else was more important than my working out. At the same time, I would watch untold dollars fly out of my bank account each month, while I waited anxiously for the day my unused membership would finally be up. Sound familiar? Rather than fall back into that trap again, I decided to try a new route: having my workout come to me. Boy, am I glad I did! In the first three weeks of working with Arielle of AOK Fitness, I lost more than 4+ inches, including a full inch in my hips. Now that's what I call progress! I've never before trained the way Arielle works me. Her workouts are ever increasing in terms of difficultly, while addressing the areas I need to work on most, such as improved balance, enhanced core strength, and stronger neck muscles due to a chronic injury. Personally, Arielle is a delight. She is kind, understanding, and strong. She is also firm, but fair. And I love it that she can be so darn funny! Sometimes without even trying to be! I can't remember another time in my life when I worked out so hard and yet laughed so much. Somehow, she manages to kick my butt AND make me like it! I highly recommend AOK Fitness, regardless of your current fitness level or goals. I promise, you'll be glad you did.

Always looking forward to my time training w A OK!

I feel great - stronger, more confident and certain that I can continue down this path of taking control of my health and maintaining the gains (or should I say losses)! Sandy's program shouldn't even be called a "program" because it isn't a loose weight quick scheme or a fad of the week diet. It's good common sense and, if applied, will work wonders. I'll be honest, I was looking for a program - just tell me what to do and I'll do it - but those don't last. What happens after there is no one telling what to do anymore?? Instead she teaches you simple but effective tools to change your behaviors and achieve your goals. She is attentive, kind and willing to work with you to find what works for you. I highly recommend signing up! Thanks a million Sandy!

It looked like fluffy dogs had been the participants of the class before the one I took - there was hair everywhere! From the straps to the jump board to the floor and in the middle of the reformer. I was given an additional comp class to try the studio out which they said was "regularly cleaned." At my next visit it wasn't as bad yet there was still much more hair than I would like- which is virtually none (I prefer not to lay in someone else hair while I'm working out and getting sweaty) Several months pass and I get a call from someone at the studio inviting me for another class. Unfortunately, I missed the class YET I received an email stating I get a do-over* literally a whole email like BUMMER you missed the class- not to worry you get a do-over. When I responded to the email to schedule my do-over I was then told I had received "too many comp classes," AFTER THEY INITIALLY REACHED OUT TO ME. It's a tiny studio and honestly not ran properly, they can't even keep track of their marketing and promotional efforts! Don't waste your time! Try STRNG Pilates down the street, they are cleaner and the staff is wayyyyyy NICER than the staff at Wunda Westlake so disappointing it's a cute space in a really good location and has potential just needs better management!

She provides a wealth of knowledge on how your body works and why you are doing what you are doing, along with supplement suggestions that never feel pushy - just tools you can choose for your toolbox if you'd like. When the going gets tough, she has an abundance of tips to make diet and workouts more palatable and is always there as a friend to commiserate and build you up. Jen leads by example at Hardcore Fitness, and has built the most caring and supportive fitness environment I have ever experienced - from the trainers through the members. This is her family business and she makes all of her members and clients feel loved like family. I recently completed a 60- day fitness challenge at Hardcore, run by Jen. I gained strength and confidence, while losing inches off my body. My favorite part of the 60 day challenge was the supportive community of other participants. People their stories, struggles, wins, tips, and support for each other both online in our group video discussions, as well as as in person at the gym. The community really keeps you engaged and focused on your goals. This experience has given me better knowledge of what my bad habits weee doing to my body and what good habits I could foster for benefits I want. I plan to keep these learnings top of mind as I head into my (new and improved) regular routine. I recommend Hardcore, Jen, and the trainers highly to anyone looking for a gym family/home. You can generally find me in a Lift class or in the Red Zone Rumble boxing class six days a week. I can't get enough of it!
