    Tacos
    Ellen B.

I feel bad saying this, but this meal was one of the worst my family has had. To the point where we have compared it to anything wrong on this trip, and the meal still ranks worse. It's now a running joke in my family... I'll start with the good - the waitress was friendly and trying her best although her letting us know some things when we ordered would have pushed us to different choices, which may have made the experience better. I was really looking for steak, and they had an 8 ounce ribeye on the menu for $22. I told the waitress that I wanted it medium rare and more on the rare side if possible. She made no comment to that. The steak came out and it was no more than a half inch thick and a good quarter of it was fat & gristle. I have seen the same steak sold at the dollar tree store for - a dollar. It was cooked well done, as only a steak that thin could be cooked. When I asked about the doneness of the steak, the waitress told me that the chef believes that eating rare meat is not healthy for you. I kid you not... I managed to get through the well done piece of meat by cutting off all the fat and gristle and drowning it in A1 sauce. A comment from the waitress when I ordered that the meat could not be cooked anything other than well done would have been helpful for me to make a different choice on the menu. The salad it came with had old browning lettuce and dry cucumbers. Next, my son had the carne asada. The meat was very dry. It was advertised on the menu as coming with guacamole. When it arrived with none, my son asked the waitress and was told that they have not had guacamole for a while now, but just haven't taken it off the menu. Again, a note about that when we were ordering would've made a difference as we could've chosen something else. My husband had a burrito and the sauce over the top tasted like brown gravy with some taco seasoning added. It was pretty gross. My daughter had tacos with just beef and cheese. Hard to screw that up, and they managed not to. We would definitely not be back, although it seems options are limited in this area. At least we will have something to chuckle about with our first Yellowstone vacation meal.

    Gross toast. Overdone eggs

Had to review.. awful. Stopped on way to Jackson. Thought cant go wrong with breakfast. French toast was edible. Eggs and toast either not done or overcooked. Don't do this place May be only thing in town but be warned!!

Very friendly waitress, the french toast was really good. Soft and cooked well. The sausage patty was crisp on the outside but soft inside, had a nice seasoning to it. Scrambled eggs seemed a bit dry, so I'd probably get mine cooked differently next time. Very cool spot with interesting wall pieces.

Amazing service even though they were short staffed and very busy. The server's "Spidey senses" were tingling that we needed more coffee as he made sure our mugs were never empty. Everything was cooked to perfection especially the crispy bacon. Thank you to the staff for creating a warm and welcoming environment and for serving us a delicious breakfast.

This place had it all! Want a taste of the real west? Not that Jackson T-shirt factory town. Real home cooking like Mammie made it; from starch. Awesome service from great Americans. Local town meeting of 10-12 unofficially designated Idaho working men resolve issues ranging from the new highway around the town, the 1893 game warden's mileage reimbursement, to Dave the jackass who keeps his gun in his saddle bag! I will visit again.

This was a warm dessert cake. This was brought to us as complementary (not on the menu!)

Huge portions. We loved the pancakes and chicken fried steak. If you're driving through from out of town you have to stop.

Great breakfast! My country fried steak barely fit on my plate and I had to dig deep to finish it.

They have outdoor dining where dogs are allowed as well as indoor dining with a bar. As of May 2026 when we went, the menu online was not the menu we received when we dined in, so I attached a photo but keep in mind it can change. The service here was great, it was out waitress Brooke's first night and she was wonderful. The manager and staff overall were fantastic and the food came out at a good pace, not too long or short a wait. For starters we ordered the grilled peach burrata salad, elk and bison chili, crispy brussel sprouts and chicken wings with huckleberry bbq sauce. Each of these were very tasty and we would eat them all again. I would argue the appetizers were better than the entrees. The wings were slightly under par compared to the other dishes, but that is just because they needed more huckleberry flavor (very light). For entrees we ordered the pan seared trout and the grilled ribeye. Both were massive portions, the trout came with wild rice and asparagus, the steak came with goat cheese mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. The trout was served as two big filets (found a few small bones, but no big deal) and was cooked well, but one filet needed more seasoning and was a little fishy tasting. The rice was a bit boring and dry, but the asparagus were superb. The ribeye was cooked nicely and tasted even better with the chipotle lime butter it came with. The mashed potatoes were great and did taste of goat cheese and the brussel sprouts were delicious, very similar to the appetizer preparation. Similar to the trout, the portion of steak was large, but a good portion of it was gristle and fat (about 30-40%). Overall a nice meal with huge serving sizes. Had we known how big the entrees would be, we may have shared one or ordered less appetizers. Great service with a pleasant ambiance.

We had one of the best burgers and fries we've had in a long time! The burger was tasty, juicy and perfectly cooked. The fries and tater tots are not overly greasy and were also quite good. Service was fantastic!!!! Kendall (I think that was her name) is quite possibly the friendliest waitress I've ever met. She was calm despite having several tables to tend to. She was friendly and she was efficient. The prices aren't too bad either. We had a cheeseburger, fries/tots combo, a kids cheeseburger and two Pepsi drinks, all for $21.00.

With that being said though, there's nothing that really makes Big Juds stand out either, especially for the price point. Two Burgers, a small fry basket, and a drink + tip was $35. For the sake of comparison, i could get two bacon burgers with unlimited toppings and a large fry + drink for $3 less at Five Guys, and i also get two burger patties instead of one. Five Guys tastes a bit better too, imo. Like i said though, Big Juds isn't bad by any means, just mediocre. There's just so many better burgers out there that it's hard to justify coming here in particular.
