Since when does a "parts guy" dictate how long to install something. At $90 an hour the "upselling" started. Then he, the parts guy wasn't even sure if the part he was going to order would be the right part? really.....oh and asked if they offered a miitary discount and his response " I will thank you for your service and shake your hand" it wasn't so much what he said as a no would have sufficed but it was how he said it....with a sheepish grin. I found Garcia's Diesel to do a simple diagnostic on my truck, a Ford F350 6.7 liter diesel, that had been in an accident caused by a blowout on the freeway. The original collision center "fixed" it and gave it back. Fun fact, it wasn't "fixed". After months of back and forth with my insurance company and the collision center it was concluded that I needed to get a diagnostic done to find out if there was anything wrong. Mind you, the collision center assured me that everything was fixed and that they thought my concerns were all in my head. Enter Garcia's Diesel. They got me in and within 5 minutes of looking at my truck determined that there was a lot wrong. Like fraud level wrong. Like the front end, which was supposed to be fixed, was about to fall off wrong. Now, this is the point where I could've been taken advantage of. But what happened was the crew of the shop seemed just as mad about the situation as me. The owner, John Garcia along with the operations manager Trent Hulsey and their skilled diesel mechanic Scott, assured me that they would assist in any way they could as the long process of fighting with the insurance company (USAA) to get them to make my truck right. Assisting them was the office manager Laurne Ashelin who has experience with insurance claims, specifically with USAA, and was able to navigate the process to make sure that all the information gathered was properly documented so that the insurance had no choice but to make things right. Along the way they also found something else going on that I'd been dealing with that could've been catastrophic. They were able to work with me to correct that problem in the most cost-effective and cost-efficient way avoiding a much more expensive, and possibly fatal, issue with the truck. You Ford Powerstroke owners, change your CCV filter. If you don't know what that is, google it because it needs to be changed. Above and beyond is a rare thing in the business of garages. These folks get it. They weren't working on my Truck. They were gaining a customer for life. And in a difficult time made sure that I knew they were on my side and committed to getting me back on the road. In the word of Johns wife, Katlynne, I'm not just a customer, I'm family. And to be honest, through this entire process, I felt like it. 5 stars isn't enough.

My brakes locked up on my class A RV on a freeway. It was a Saturday and I called 1836 to take a…read morelook. I spoke to Lisa Griffin who seemed kind enough. A tech named Brian at their Seguin, TX location came and spent 10 min looking at the RV; asked me to have the unit towed to their shop (cost $1800 for towing and $1200 for the service call) and they would let me know by Monday or Tuesday what they found. After two weeks of no answer, they finally sent me an email. It stated that the engine was in horrible shape (Freightliner diesel pusher with 28000 miles and in perfect shape!). They claimed that the repair could cost as much as $50000 or if the engine needed replacement up to $90000. They required a payment of $15000 to continue the work. I called Lisa and told her I was picking up the RV and towing it to the Freightliner Dealer. She advised me that the unit was torn apart and I would have to pay an additional $3900 to get the unit back together so it could be towed. I hopped on my truck and drove two hours to their shop. I found the RV exactly as I gave it to them in the middle of a field; all parts in place. Feeling scammed, I called the Sherrif's office and an officer met me on location. When I challenged Brian to prove they had worked on it, they showed me pictures of a computer screen. It was clear that they had done nothing and were scammers. Unfortunately, the officer, though asserting with my assessment, stated that since I had given them the authority to work on the unit, I owed the additional $3900 and could take them to court if I wished, but I could not just take the RV. I ended up paying the additional $3900 to get my RV back. A total of $7000 wasted with 1836 and not one thing resolved. I had the unit towed to the Freightliner dealer at an additional cost of $2200. They discovered that the only thing wrong was a valve in the air system which had failed. A $1200 fix. Lisa and Brian are crooks. This company is nothing but a bunch of scammers. You have been warned.
