THEY WROTE BACK - I REPLIED…read more.. "...rest assured we know what a tow hook is." "We arrived and informed you there would be a possibility of damages due to the conventional tow hook spots being inaccessible." Apparently, your tow driver does not and did not know where the tow hook on the rear bumper is on this car - the tow hook on the car is on the rear bumper which was easily accessible. This is obvious in the first photo. These photos are also before the pull, they are photos of when it was stuck. Also, the original damage caused to the car was in the front end - not the rear - which is also obvious in in the first and last photo. "I spoke with your collision center as well and sent them the hold harmless form you signed. We agree, this could have been avoided if you hadn't driven off of your paved driveway onto a boulder. " The front-end damage could have been avoided - but your driver caused the damage to the rear axle assembly WHICH NEVER TOUCHED THE BOULDER !!! Also, I too talked to collision center, and they pointed out that although the front was damage by the boulder, your tow driver caused the damage to the rear axle assembly, and that he should have definitely known about the tow hook on the rear bumper and have pulled the car off the boulder from that point - not from the rear axle assembly!

They got a used car door in the same color and a used car's replacement glass and did the replacement/beat the side dent out of my car for about $1200. They also spray painted the side where they'd been working to make it more homogenous, and took care of a good sized rust spot on the top of the car (sanded and painted over it). Ernie Sr and his som Ernie Jr are also just really nice folks, as are the staff. When I need help with my car I'll definitely take it back to Ernie's.

In my experience, Autocraft Bodywerks is not equipped to work on Teslas. After Central Texas's May…read more2024 hailstorm, my Tesla Y needed major body repair. I went against my better judgment and brought it to Autocraft Bodywerks instead of the Tesla Collision Center; the former had a shorter wait time. The San Marcos shop had my car for *four months* before returning it to me with a slew of problems, mainly an audibly loud wind noise coming from the passenger side, and both right side doors and the trunk not closing without being slammed. The South Austin location then attempted to remedy their sister shop's work (they did manage to repair some of the interior damage that was caused by the San Marcos shop - thank you for that, Tammie), but they did not fix the wind noise or the doors, and in fact there are now two additional external problems - one being the frunk/hood not being properly aligned and the other involving the trunk. It appears that they do not know what they are doing. I don't know how else to summarize my experience. Unfortunately, my insurance paid them upfront and now I'm left with a vehicle that doesn't function properly. I do not recommend bringing your Tesla to them. I've included some photos to illustrate their workmanship and attention to detail:

Nice salesman, too bad I could never use my coupon! Was working in San Marcos and a gentleman from…read morethis shop came by and sold me on a $60 coupon book. It seemed like a great deal. Every time I went by or called to see if I could come in I'd have to schedule for days out. I never ended up using a single coupon and lost $60. I lived here for 2 years, got coupon in Jan of 2024 and called maybe 4 times, every 3/4 months as I would just have to get an oil change elsewhere. Disappointing! I'd consider returning if this is still valid but I've moved to Austin so it's a bit of a drive.

Today was a day of resilience for me. I discovered that rodents can invade engine compartments,…read moreleading to my air conditioning failure this morning, which resulted in hot air blowing from the vents. The dealership diagnosed the issue as a rodent-damaged wire connected to my air conditioning system, which was not covered under my extended warranty. Nevertheless, my cousins at Brakes & More provided a prompt and effective solution, repairing the damaged wire and restoring my air conditioning to its optimal state. I would like to thank David, Bernie, Josh, Jon, and the entire crew for their efficient and cost-effective service, which was significantly more affordable than the dealership's estimate.

I have taken two cars to A & A Automotive for pre-purchase inspections (PPI, aka buyer's checks)…read more Both inspections were thorough and honest. We were treated with respect, and our questions were answered in detail. This is a multi-generational family-owned business, and I have had positive interactions with each generation and multiple levels of staff, from the owners, managers, and mechanics. Note, because this matters to some: I'm a woman and have not experienced any patronizing treatment. I've only had positive interactions with their team. The first car I brought in for inspection had very high miles but they learned that it was in fantastic mechanical condition--and since that was unlikely, the rest of their team joined in on the inspection to keep searching for some flaw that had been missed. They found nothing significant and gave us a list of the maintenance and repairs we should expect over the next few years, how much they would typically cost, and when we should expect them. That gave us the confidence needed to purchase the car and drive it across the country the next day. The second car I brought in had low miles, was in great exterior condition, and drove wonderfully. I only had it inspected for peace of mind. The A & A team found a host of problems under the surface. They learned that the car had internal parts held together by zip-ties, multiple leaks, and was almost certainly an unreported flood car. Disaster on wheels, no matter how well it drove in the short-term. I asked quite a few questions in both cases, and everything was answered in detail.

Mark, the mechanic is a FRAUD…read more In 2022 he replaced my AC compressor on my 2009 Nissan Frontier, he obviously did not flush the system out properly, stray particles got into the new compressor and it was screaming from the start when I picked it up. Mark charged me like ~$500 labor, he had me buy the parts myself (strange). I bought a NEW compressor kit from rock auto. Than, I decided to try a 2nd time, called him in late May 2023, he said real busy, call back in a week, I started calling on that Thursday, 3 calls later could not get him to answer. Finally I called the A-1 alternator front office, he said: " he's back there !" I called again, got Mark on the phone, he said:" I am REAL busy, if you need it fast I cannot help you. " I said it's not that I need it fast, I just need to schedule it with you - - - but it was obvious from his sour attitude he was not wanting the job back at all. He should have given my money back for the shitty job he did before. I will never use them again.
