Last weekend I went to Trader Joe's with my daughter and grandson. There is a cool display of free fruit for the kids as the adults shop. This is not the biggest store but I like how it feels more intimate. We had a mission to find a couple of awesome greeting cards. You can not miss the greeting card spinner at the front door. There are more cards displayed in the back corner of the store. The cards at Trader Joe's are so cute and only cost $1.00. It was easy to find 2 great Birthday cards. As we were there already I restocked my supply of bananas. My grandson loves them and would be with me for the evening. TJ's price is great at $.19 each. I chose the biggest ones there. Bacon was also on my mind. Is it not on everyone's brain at least a few times a day? My daughter showed me the one pound package of ends and pieces for $4.49. Compared to the Kroger's I was at earlier this is a great price. Bacon does not have to be in a pretty package or perfectly cut to taste good. This was some of the best I had ever bought! My first TJ experience. We don't have TJ in Denver yet and in all the years I lived in Cincinnati, I never knew enough about TJs to check it out. I had a pleasant experience. We went in on a (very) busy Saturday after an afternoon of wedding dress shopping next door (David's Bridal). We didn't spend too much time in the store so I wasn't able to browse and find the random healthy and unique products that all my Denver friends rave about. I did find some roasted seaweed snacks for only $.99 and bought a few for the rest of my stay in Cincinnati. Hope to be back in a TJ someday to REALLY understand the draw! read more

The only reason it isn't a 5 is because the store is small and you are at risk for cart rage when people stand in the aisles blocking what you want to see. Great quality selection. Lower prices than that big organic chain place. The staff is excellent, friendly and helpful! I really love Trader Joe's. I wish this one was closer or easier to get in/out of the parking lot (this is one crazy parking lot! always.) I have come here multiple times since moving to Cincy and never once have I not been impressed with the employees alone. They are always genuinely happy, helpful, and psyched about the products they sell. They are usually sampling something towards the back of the store, and while they usually have the same staples, there seems to be a rotating selection overall. This allows for great new discoveries with every shopping trip! Their prices are very reasonable for this quality and healthiness of food. The store is also always well stocked, organized, and super clean! I really can't say ive ever had anything bad from here. Everything ive tried has been awesome! Some faves include the choco cat cookies, carrot juice, quiche, and creme brulee. It's always nice to grab a bouquet of seasonal flowers or a seasonal plant too! read more

I LOVE Trader Joe's! I wish this wasn't the only one in Cincy. We came on a Tuesday early afternoon and the store wasn't too crowded which was nice. While browsing the affordable wine selection I grabbed a bottle a a worker stopped me and asked if I had tried that one before; he said he couldn't recommend it. The cashier was super friendly and offered us a free bag of frozen chicken as a recommendation which was super sweet. I just wish the store was bigger which would make for a better shopping experience and have a little more variety like other TJs I've been to in the past. read more

Trader Joe's requires no introduction, and I think there's very little I can personally add that most people couldn't find out with a quick search. It's awesome! If you are a veteran home cook they have great prices on fresh ingredients. If you are a person who loves the convenience of a frozen meal, they have so many to choose from. If you are looking for sure to be delicious sweet treats, this is your place. This particular location is small, but well organized. The staff is always exceptionally nice and helpful. They don't always have the newest TJ products stocked, for one reason or another. But overall it's an awesome grocery store. read more

I love this specialty food store! It's small but has everything I love in it. You walk in and there are fresh flowers waiting your arrival. Then I moved on to find a wide variety of one ofmy favorite snacks, hummus as well as baby pita breads. Trader Joe's also has a section of new arrivals with samples (who doesn't love that?!). Then there is a section were you can pick up a quick lunch like a wrap or even some fresh sushi! They also have a great selection of desserts and wines. AND they have handles on their brown bags ( I know its dumb but they don't have those handles at Kroger and its a pain in the ass!) I cant get enough of this store. I want it all!!! read more

This store is unique in their attention to customers. I was looking for French green beans the day before Thanksgiving and there were none on the shelf. They told me the truck had just pulled in and they were on one of the 47 pallets that had to be unloaded. What's not to love about Trader Joe's? Okay, I concede that the parking can be pretty horrendous at times. But the payoff is well worth it. The Trader Joe's brand product are high quality. They have everything from mixed nuts to olive oil to booze. They often are the source of many of our appetizers and booze at parties. Each time I have visited the service and options have been great. There are people around who are happy to help and they seemed to have most registers occupied. I also like that they are open to contacting you or putting an item to the side you might be looking for. They seemed to go the extra mile to make sure the customer has a positive experience. Trader Joe's is, in general, a solid bet. Great salsas, great chips, great prepared sauces, etc. However, this particular TJ's has one of the world's scariest parking lots! I always have to think twice about going there, and generally find myself running out there at 8pm. It's a pain, but the great food & prices are worth it. read more

I lived in San Francisco for 10 years (1994-2004) and became addicted to Trader Joe's. Especially in those final years when I worked a block away from their San Mateo location. Tuna nicoise salad and a pint of raspeberries with Pellegrino water or some other combo for lunch everyday after I ran. So, on a recent Saturday, June 9, 2007 I got to relive it all at this Cincinnati location. I'm hoping Trader Joe's expands to Louisville and that right soon. read more

I love this place. Ended up at TJ's on a whim and discovered they have the best canned cat food in town for the price ($0.59 a can for stuff that looks like the $1.49-a-can stuff). Plenty of good, cheap wines/beers, wonderful produce and cheeses, and an extensive whole bean coffee section. Great staff as well! Just blessed that I work close to the place! read more

I can't believe I just started going to this store 1 year ago, it makes me sad I didn't find it sooner... or even go to the one in Indianapolis when I lived there. They have tons of vegan staples - almond butter, tempeh, nuts, hummus, etc. As well as affordable gluten free pastas, an impressive produce selection, and snacks that would never think of (that are scrumptious), the 85% cocoa chocolate bars [2 in a box] that are only 1.50, a frozen section that is surprisingly extensive, and the wines! Then there is the staff - you could not ask for a friendlier crew, every one of them that I pass always say something nice to my 18 month old and are eager to help. If they carried vegenaise, nutritional yeast and a couple other things I wouldn't have to go to Whole Foods. read more

I've always been a big TJ fan, in Dayton and in Cincinnati. I'm lucky enough to live about 10 minutes away. My last two visits though, have been unpleasant, and my email complaint to their corporate hq has gone unanswered. I'm probably going to be an ex-customer. I went looking for the yummy packaged ham steaks that they've carried for all the years I've shopped there, and that are good to cut up for lunches with crackers and cheese. Kind of a household staple. The first time I didn't find them, I had to search for ages to find someone to ask, then they didn't even check, just told me they were out of stock and would be back soon. I went back a couple of weeks later, still not there, and the RUDEST TJ clerk I've ever met said nope, not carrying them anymore, lots of people have complained, "too bad for you". I waited around to talk to a manager but gave up and went home. I sent a complaint to their HQ, and never got the courtesy of an answer. I definitely don't feel like a valued customer! read more

Trader Joe's is awesome and I'm glad there's one in Cincinnati. I stop by here to treat myself and take a break from the blandness of Meijer. Shopping here is an experience rather than a chore! I love randomly stopping by here for bread, wine, cheese, and all the unique treats they offer in every section of the store, especially the wasabi seaweed strips and dried fruit. Prices are great. Word of caution: pay attention to any and all dates on the produce, esp the salad greens, because they tend to go bad fairly quickly sometimes. My only true complaint is the parking, but I just try to avoid rush hour and weekends and things turn out fine. read more

Coming from California, I got addicted to Trader Joe's and was thrilled and relieved to find that there is one here in Cincy. I absolutely adore them (for reasons I'll list below) and they get 5 stars across the board, but this one only gets 4 stars, and that is simply because it is in the state of Ohio. I don't know what the deal is, but Ohio alcohol taxes must be STEEP! There are bottles of cheap sake that are $3-4 more here in Cincy than they were in LA! And inexpensive wine that is at least $2 more. That makes me crazy. So let's not talk about alcohol anymore, except to say that they do have a great selection, and knowledgeable employees. The grocery items are fantastic, their prepared meals are what we live on at our house. Pretty much my only issue here is that the avocados are either not ripe, or overripe, or something. And I continually buy them, so it's my fault...I just always hope for something different. But their other produce is great. I'll make a list of other great items for those not familiar with TJ's: frozen teriyaki chicken, frozen orange chicken, fresh rosemary chicken, all kinds of frozen vegetables and fruits (frozen mangoes and berries are summertime smoothie staples). Milk, eggs, butter, multiple kinds of cheeses, lunch meat, breads, frozen pizzas, fresh pizza dough (and sauce and pepperoni), frozen misoyaki turbot is amazing. You can tell I get a lot of frozen items and it's because we rarely have time to cook, but if I can pull a full meal out of the fridge or freezer (and I'm not talking a breaded chicken patty with corn; I'm talking balanced meals)--that's the way to go. Enchiladas, lasagna...you get the picture. They also have great prices on dry cereal, oatmeal, coffee...I just love this place! read more

The prices are very low compared to Whole Foods. The good and bad is everything is pretty much Trader Joe brand. I have not found anything bad but I am just letting you know, don't expect to find some of the items you find in a Whole Foods. The staff always seems friendly and always seems well stocked. I love the store and I shop here weekly. They have great products, but i never buy fresh products here (fruits/veggies/meat/breads) because they go bad REALLY fast. THE PARKING LOT is a disaster. Okay I've been a Trader Joe's fanatic for years now. I have lived all over the country and was very surprised and excited when I moved here and found out there was a Trader Joe's here (wish there were more locations though...I mean really, there are numerous locations in Tucson). I live in N. KY and it is always worth the trip. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They are always cooking up a new sample for you to try (and end up purchasing). The layout is very enticing and they always have new products popping up. They have the best cheese selection and you'll spend WAY less if you're shopping for your "wine and cheese" party than if you shop elsewhere, thanks to their fabulous wine selection as well. Some of their frozen foods are staples in my freezer. All of their frozen Indian food selections are amaaaazing and just as good, actually better than take-out. The frozen garlic naan goes especially well with the Paneer Tikka Masala. YUM. I could lick the container clean! Seriously. If you're in the mood for Chinese, the frozen orange chicken is also VERY tasty. It's apparently their #1 selling item. I usually pair this with their veggie fried rice. I really haven't tasted anything from Trader Joe's that I didn't enjoy. However, if you do taste something you don't like, they will give you your money back. Seriously. The produce is also always fresh and they have seasonal items as well. I just bought some fantastic blood oranges. I used to have to shop elsewhere for some basic items, but now can only shop at Trader Joe's, they have everything you could need. LOVE this place. Great prices on flowers and plants too. I failed to mention all of their delicious sweets...but that's because I am trying to avoid eating such items...but they don't miss the mark with sweets either! Delish. read more
