I love shopping at TJ's! The service is outstanding. I love when staff makes recommendations on products. As someone who is predominantly vegetarian, there are so many options here. So many fresh produce items that you may not see it regular grocery stores. There's a lot of protein options. I really like the soy chorizo. And the frozen vegan sausage patties. The parking lot can be busy on the weekend. They do have disabled spots, and the entrance is easily accessible. I wish there was a location in Saint Charles county. read more

My obsession with TJs continues to a new (to me) location, Chesterfield. While some can say that it would be obvious that all TJs locations are wonderful, and they would be right, I think it's only fair to spread the love. I popped in here really quick after visiting a friend to visit another friend, and I didn't want to show up empty handed. It was a fall like get together, and it seems like this situation was set up just for me with the mini pots of mums ready to be purchased. It doesn't get much more fall flower vibes than that. First time visiting this Trader Joe's. I really like it. Maybe because it wasn't very crowded, but the aisles seem wider. They also had everything I was looking for. That is always a nice surprise. C'mon now....this is where I go to find a great curated cheese selection (Uncommon Cheddar for the win!), suprisingly fresh bakery products, including a great selection of gluten free products and just those little odds and ends that you didn't know you needed. Just as you enter, next to the beautiful flowers (treat yo' self - you did something spectacular this week!), is a case with grab and go items like grilled chicken and sliced sous vide beef tenderloin that is just waiting to become dinner tonight. Moving on, fresh fruit and veggies that absolutely bury the expensive but unfresh local grocer (coughD***bergscough), including a few things that you just don't find much of anywhere else. There's an absolutely stunning collection of dried fruits and nuts and trail mixes, for those that enjoy a healthy handful. Do yourself a favor: find an instagram influencer and watch some videos before you go. It can be overwhelming and you might miss something. My best pro tip: if you like it, ask if it's seasonal. TJ's refreshes their inventory frequently and it might just disappear, maybe to reappear next year but also maybe for good. The folks that work here are genuinely helpful and provide good advice or just casual chit chat as they ring your goodies. Parking is a nightmare. Fair warning. But you'll love it! read more

I have quit going to this Trader Joe's location for my weekly grocery trips because they quit carrying items that are my favorites. I routinely purchased premade salads and it was a 50/50 crap shoot on whether they would be spoiled. I haven't been back for a bit, but had a weak moment because I needed milk. My daughter visited and milk with her cereal on 7/20 and has been sicker than a dog ever since. On 7/21 I pulled the remaining milk out of the fridge and sure enough it was spoiled. Okay, the genuine enthusiasm by the employees that checked me out today was great. Ever since cinco de mayo I've been buying the cowboy caviar in twos, except today I got four because I'm afraid they're going to discontinue it like my all time favorite vanilla joe joe's cookies (still crying over them). I think Dave was my cashier and suggested a great idea of making it into a soup. That is very dangerous, but I loved the creativity. The layout is opposite my home location in brentwood, but it's just as clean and clear. Aldi's upscale sister store has me being a fan, but not quite the bargain or the amount of locations to beat Aldi. Frozen vegan and vegetarian meals are my usual stock up at Trader Joe's. Plus a couple of bags of cruciferous crunch collection (salad) that is not part of other stores offering. Goats milk was my surprise buy followed by a comparison check at Whole Foods. I tried their 85% ground beef for burgers and it was a bust. The burgers were noticeably chewier then meat we get elsewhere. I also tried their frozen sweet potato fries and they were awesome. The beef I would give it 1 star and the fries 5 stars. I cooked the fries in our air fryer. The packaging say 400 degrees for 8 minutes. I cooked them 13 minutes because we like them crispy. read more

Trader Joe's on Manchester Road is strategically located in West County. Parking is plentiful but like other TJs in the area, the parking is separated from the store by a very busy crossing, be careful. The store has a beautiful display of fresh flowers at the entrance and lots of exotic cheeses to choose from. The store appears slightly smaller than some of the other STL TJs but is packed with fantastic food and wine choices. We live on the Illinois side and hit TJs many of the times we cross the River. The service is great and staff will help you find things or special order if they are out in the Fall they carry many seasonal items like pumpkin flavored bagels and pancakes. Great store! read more

When our cashier overheard us speaking about the cashier at the last door, we were at being rude, she surprised us with a dozen fruit roses. Whole Foods has a wider selection, but this was closer. This is a smaller store. I still get most of our basic supplies from more traditional grocery stores, but the speciality groceries are now all over (Fresh Thyme, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, etc.) and fun diversion from the norm. read more

Once again, I was shopping next door at the Treats Unleashed and needed some groceries. I really like this Trader Joe's, wish the one closer to me was this nice. I love the larger aisles, it makes it easier to maneuver around the other shoppers. It also makes it easier for the other shoppers to move around me, as I browse the items in awe. Today I mainly focused on vegetables, grabbing some cut and peeled organic carrots. I also got a small bag of multi-colored carrots for roasting. To round out my veggie purchases I got a package of fresh asparagus. Other items that I threw into my little shopping cart were; Hatch Chile Mac & Cheese, Green Grapes, Jalapeño Hot Sauce, Eggs, Taco Seasoning, Organic Kosher Pickles and Tortilla Chips. Gotta love, TJ. Cashiers and floor staff were great. I enjoyed this visit so much, I'm going to play the parking lot derby and start visiting the TJ at the Promenade in Brentwood. read more

Love it but some pandemic rudeness here. I love the selection at TJ's and the employees are still helpful if you ask for help. They are, however, rude when directing one where and how to stand at checkout as though they expect one knows already and is just being uncooperative. I only shop here about once a month and so am not aware of changing rules. Of the 6 times I have shopped here, I have been double charged on various items 3 times. I saved my receipts and received refunds but it's a pain since I live 48 miles away. Overall, I appreciate the selection, help, prices, and staff. They could be a little more gracious about pandemic rules and a bit more careful ringing up ones groceries. I know serving the demanding public can be stressful, and yet most of we customers are nice! Thanks for letting us use our own bags again. read more

TJ's has gone from the nicest grocer to the meanest store since the pandemic. In St Louis County, masks required inside store. Being in my 60's, I overheat in 90 degree heat & humidity. I can't breathe outside with mask. The employee handing out carts yelled at me to put on mask, as I crossed the parking lot. I had it in hand and explained I would put it on as I entered. She continued her prison guard intimidation. No common sense approach! At check out, on my previous visit, I kept the required distance but leaned in to check the screen in order to see what I was being charged. Again, I was berated. No common sense. I've never been to Trader Joe's. Infact, it's a destination spot, and has been for several years. Others want to go to art museums, or attractions, I wanted to go to Trader Joe's. I was lucky to have a hotel room less than a mile from this Trader Joe's. When I figured that out, I had no excuse not to go. Entering the store, and there's a certain vibe, it's a hipster, hopping place. Employees opening up bags for customers if they want to try something, "Don't worry, you don't have to pay for it, I'll set it out as samples." WHOA!!! And then, Donna Summer's "We are Family" comes on the speaker, and employees sing to it. Yeah, singing, while working. Opening bags for customers for the hell of it. And prices! I live close to Nature's Pantry, and sometimes go to Whole Foods. I totally understand why Kansas City is ready for Trader Joe's. Totally. Everything I bought was mostly under 4.00, and it's not crap food. No, it's good food. It is Trader Joe's brand. Trader Joe's even has their own beer. The wine was not by Trader Joe's, but it's there. I bought frozen mango bars, and the softest of oatmeal cookies, and sesame sticks, and a few dinners for the next couple of weeks, cause I get tired of eating out every night. I bought my dogs some treats that will make them happy. The spices I bought for home are the kind with a grinder on it, 1.69. I am going to go back and buy some more. I just was floored by the employees who were so freaking nice, and the prices, so much, that I'm ready for the Kansas City store...I have a cool Trader Joe's reusable bag with the surf boards and palm trees. read more

Big Sis and I went October 7 after lunch and after her doctor appointment. A good time to shop. BUT parking is A BITCH!! The aisles weren't too jam-packed, and we got around smoothly. Big Sis knew what she wanted. We went after it!! We both got frozen entrees. I got asparagus risotto, riced cauliflower and butternut squash risotto, Kung Pao chicken, shiitake mushroom chicken, and mildly sweet and spicy beef and broccoli. I got five items. That I BARELY have to cook. Each offering multiple servings. And I spent $28.That's a massive bargain in my book. I always thought Trader Joe's was expensive, kinda like Straub's. I love this location! I took my 5 month old daughter out here today. My husband who has cancer was tired from his chemo and I didn't have anyone to watch her. It was the first time my daughter has been to any store. When the workers found out, they were all so sweet. They even gifted us a beautiful bouquet of flowers. It meant so much and eased so much anxiety, especially after on top of everything finding out this week that I will be returning to the classroom to teach my preschoolers with special needs. When I lived in West County a few years ago, I frequented Trader Joe's. This location was my first and is my favorite. It's clean, spacious, and has friendly staff. I'm a picky and frugal vegetarian, so it's nice to have a place like Trader Joe's that sells many vegetarian foods on the cheap and offers free samples of juice and food. I personally think they went a little overboard this year on the pumpkin flavored merchandise though. Anyone else not a pumpkin spice fan? Ick! Sunday night I was having dinner at someone's house and stopped for a bunch of their great flowers and my newest obsession, a quart of the Organic Vanilla Fudge Chip Ice Cream, on the way to dinner. This is one of the best ice creams ever! It's as good as any premium ice cream at two to three times the price. I've got nothing to justify this purchase other than its deliciousness.
