My mother-in-law used to shop at Trader Joe's and enjoyed every trip, so we thought it would be meaningful to use the Trader Joe's mini tote bags as party favors for her 80th birthday party and fill them with some of her favorite things. My husband visited this location yesterday. When he arrived, he said that only one tote color was available, so he picked one up and continued shopping. Later, he noticed that additional colors had been stocked, so he grabbed three more, staying within the four‑bag limit. At checkout, the cashier assumed my husband had already purchased a bag earlier. When my husband explained that he had not yet paid for the one bag he had initially picked up, the cashier insisted he did and that allowing him to purchase another bag would not be fair because some people buy additional bags to resell. He really felt being stereotyped. We are not resellers, he was simply purchasing the permitted quantity for a family celebration. But come to think of it, there is nothing wrong with people reselling the totes, as they purchased them legally and did not steal them. read more

Trader Joe's is one of my favorite grocery stores. They have a great selection of unique snacks, frozen meals, and fresh products at reasonable prices. The staff is always friendly, and the store is clean and easy to shop in. I always leave with something new to try! read more

Trader Joe's is one of my favorite stores. The variety is fantastic. I always find something new to try and I love their floral and plant sections. I try to keep fresh flowers in my house weekly. On this visit, I came for some of my favorite seasonal items like the spiced maple nuts, the butternut squash pasta, the maple popcorn and the seasoned kettle chips that sell out every year. My only complaints are that over the years the portions have gotten smaller on some items yet the prices go up. Also, the fact that I find things I love and use for years then one day they just disappear from shelves either never returning or returning slightly different and not as good. I know this is just how Trader Joe's is but it's still disappointing sometimes. The staff at all locations are always really nice and helpful if you need anything at all. I'm a big fan and will continue shopping here even if some of my favorites vanish from shelves occasionally. read more

My wife loves this location and I can tell because we constantly have TJ items in the house. She is obsessed with the bags. Parking is not a nightmare like other Trader Joe's, but it does get busy. I enjoy walking from work to get a salad during lunch and at the register they always offer a wooden fork which is so nice of them. Crispy peanut slaw is my go to, but like the Pasadena if I'm REALLY hungry. Also enjoy that you can get singles of the cans of beer so you can try new stuff. EXCELLENT pricing on everything and a wonderful business to be a patron of. read more

My mom is turning 80, and we're planning a big celebration for her. Since she absolutely loves grocery shopping at Trader Joe's, we thought it would be fun to use the popular Trader Joe's tote bags as party favors, filled with some of her favorite things like fuchsia pink lipstick, dark chocolates, roasted pistachios, and other treats. I went to the Trader Joe's in Carlsbad today. When I arrived, I only saw one tote color available, so I grabbed one and continued shopping for snacks. When I came back to check out, I noticed that more totes in different colors had just been stocked. Since there's a limit of four per person, and I already had one, I picked up three more. At the register, the cashier assumed I had already bought one earlier and had come back for extras. She told me that people have been reselling the bags and implied it would be unfair if I tried to get more. The interaction left me feeling a bit judged, even though I was following store policy. But when I think about it, even if some people are reselling the bags, those customers still purchased the merchandise directly from Trader Joe's. From a business and marketing perspective, the excitement around these totes actually increases brand visibility and demand. Because of that, it felt unnecessary to be spoken to as though I was doing something wrong when I was simply buying the allowed quantity for a personal family celebration. I truly appreciate Trader Joe's and the friendly environment you're known for. I just wanted to share this experience in hopes it can help avoid misunderstandings for other customers in the future. read more

One of my favorite Trader Joe's locations! They have such a great variety of products and options in every category possible. Most products seem to be in stock, as I have never gone in without purchasing everything on my list (besides out of season items). The store feels bigger inside than most others and it's incredibly well organized. Any employee there is very welcoming, kind, and helpful too! I know the parking lot isn't ideal (is it ever at any TJ location?), but I feel it's better than most since they have a lot of spots and you can park far away from others. read more

I love Trader Joe's and this location is just as clean and friendly as the other locations! They have a very nice selection of fresh cut and potted flowers. I especially love their large assortment of orchids! When I make charcuterie boards, this is my go-to store because I love the variety of cheeses, cured meats, fresh fruits, dried fruits, crackers, and jams. I also like to check out their snacks to see what's new. If you need cheap (but decent) wine, they have the Charles Shaw series for $3.49, used to be the "2 buck chucks." For the quality, you can't beat that price. I use them for cooking. read more

Several items are cheaper than other stores especially the bananas, lactose free milk, sourdough breads, and wines. Would recommend going elsewhere for fruits and vegetables as they are either near the end if shelf life or wrapped in way too much plastic. read more

Trader joes finally did it right in the north county with not only wider aisles but also grabbing a better building with a ton of parking all around the building unless you're one of those folks who hates walking a few feet or two. I arrived at the grand opening around 8:30-ish, found a spot to park with ease, and stood in line for the 9am opening. Of course and as expected the store was busy, but I was able to grab everything I needed or wanted and was checked out and out the door in 30-minutes. Thankful have this better location vs shopping at either the bressi ranch location (not far from my kid's school) or Oceanside where I live. I can easily drop off kids 1st thing in the morning and take the 78 west home for a more stress-free shopping experience during the week. read more

I know we all (or most of us) love Trader Joe's for the unique products, fresh food and the great wine deals... but today my local TJ's took the word integrity to a new level. Right after getting home from Thailand , I needed my TJ steak tip in Rosemary. Truth is, they were awful and almost to tough to eat. I though.... we'll, one in a thousand isn't so bad. Today I asked the manager if he had any issues with that product and he asked why so I told my tale. He send someone back to the meat and said "on us" . Beyond what any other store would ever do with no pictures or receipts. Thank you Trader Joe's, you got me for life. read more

Don't come here thinking you can open up a brokerage account like Charles Schwab lol. This place is where you come for food and liquor. They also have a decent health section where I found my hand sanitizer. Excellent service and it's squeaky clean, a go to spot when you don't want to wait in long lines like at the supermarkets. Friday mornings around 10 o'clock is the best time to shop at this location and I don't like to shop anyway. Fully stocked store, not a big crowd, the prices are always right and if you are shopping here for years, it's a breeze. Some stuff you have to buy at Stater Bros (which I'm always doing at the same trip), so Trader Joe's is just to finish up the shopping. The employees are always very helpful, cheerful all the way to the cashiers and even packing your bags (if you need help - they will take out your cart all the way to your car). One thing could be better - it's a small parking lot, could be really busy at the lunch time, so again - come in the morning. read more

Long time TJs shopper and this location is nice though a bit smaller than some others and quite often out of things which is disappointing. And the parking lot situation is not great (but isn't that the case at all TJs?!) BUT the staff are true to TJ form - quirky, chatty, fun! - and I love shopping here because it feels good to have the feel good interaction while checking out. The absolute worst meat I've ever purchased! I'm pretty sure that it's slaughtered dairy cow! There's no USDA grading on the package and after grilling it I wouldn't feed it to my dogs! When the pandemic broke out, I struggled with the ethical issue of should I leave a review when everything is turned upside down. In this case, I'm making an exception because this business handles itself really, really well. There is someone outside the store making sure that lines aren't forming in the store and if they are, the line to get in starts outside. Employees were restocking at a distance. People were keeping their distance, giving other shoppers space. Employees were friendly and helped instruct clueless shoppers like me that were new to this store. What really brought the review to a full 5 stars was hearing what I think was a store manager, stopping other employees and telling them what a good job that they are doing. Way to go, taking the extra steps to be really awesome to the people who are out there risking it every day for us. Thank you Trader Joe's. You are fantastic! read more

PA-system incidents like this are why they use a chime system at all Trader Joes. At TJs, a single chime requests that a new register be opened, 2-chimes is when there's a price/product question at checkout, and 3-chimes calls a manager. There are other undocumented "chime-codes" that you may not be aware of (you can't argue with math): 4-chimes: the Two-Buck Chuck is starting to taste like Robitussin 5-chimes: disturbance near the only available space in the too-small parking lot! A lot of swearing to God, never any atheists out there!! 6-chimes: customer needs help finding the extra small Trader-Joe-San condoms, aisle 6 7-chimes: suspicious person in disguises-- may be getting too many of the same free samples 8-chimes: stop playing "Freebird", people are stealing organic chickens and turkeys 9-chimes: robbery in progress - put cash in sack! Make sure they bring their own (ours are 10 cents, and the flimsy paper handles might tear off)!!! Whether the cilantro pizza, white bean hummus, addictive-as-crack cheddar rockets, cylindrical salmon, veggies-in-a-box, or wasabi trail mix... 85% of the crazy-good products you didn't come here to buy are store-brand. None of which contain artificial flavors, colors, preservatives, GMO, MSG, or ATF (artificial trans fats). Pro tip: staff that wear a solid-colored shirt with a big hibiscus flower on the back are "crew members". Managers wear button-down Hawaiian shirts. And the customers? They're the ones in the shoe-matching Lululemons... read more

Such a breath of fresh air. We all have our vices, right? This one is mine. And apparently this pudding is popular with my fellow Trader Joe's fanatics as well because they are always out of stock at the location closest to my home. Parking is a bit limited but that's the only "negative" I have to say about this one. When I'm in a hurry to make a quick dinner but don't want to do take out, their frozen dinners work in a pinch. I love their mushroom risotto to which I add a bit extra heavy cream and parmesan to liven it up along with their lemon chicken that you just need to re-heat. So deceptively easy yet not your average, boring meal. Prices are surprisingly reasonable too. I love you Trader Joe's! I'll be back soon for my pudding fix! read more

The King of fancy labeled generic products. I get sucked up in the creative branding and food descriptions just as much as you guys do. I like Trader Joe's but it's not as useful as Sprouts or Grocery Outlet. It's more of a snack and goodies place, perfect for road trips. This location is in Bressi Ranch, currently ranked number 4 in North County's top duel income neighborhoods. Very nice shopping area but parking is ill conceived. There wasn't anything special about this Trader Joe's compared to any other. Is the Trader Joe's in Bressi Ranch prejudiced against service dogs? A very unfriendly TJ employee (Angela, who would not give her last name) asked me to remove my service dog because of one quick bark (just one sound) because a dog spooked her from behind. And she said because my dog barked it wasn't a service dog. Oh, really? What about service dogs that are trained to bark when something is wrong with the person they are servicing? I explained my dog was a service dog (she didn't have her vest on), but she didn't care. Obviously Angela and managers at this TJs allow harassment (unlawfully) of people with service animals. Maybe it's because they don't like dogs. Maybe it's because they don't understand California laws - service animals don't have to have their vest or paperwork on them, and you don't have to explain what disability they are helping you with. In fact, those laws were put in place so businesses couldn't discriminate against people with service animals. Or maybe it's because this Trader Joe's is so busy and crowded most the time that they feel they can toss people on a whim. By the way, one of the managers here said the reasons Trader Joes asks a service dog and owner to leave is if they go to the bathroom inside the store, or if they're smelling all the merchandise. My dog was doing neither. They're trained not to do these things. What the manager didn't say, was that they can't bark. Study up Angela and Trader Joes. I put some important points below regarding service dogs in California businesses: A person with a disability can be asked to remove his or her service animal from the premises if the animal is out of control and the animal's handler does not take effective action to control it, or if the animal is not housebroken. The individual cannot be asked about his or her disability. The individual cannot also be asked to show proof that the animal has been certified, trained, or licensed as a service animal. Additionally, service animals must not be required to demonstrate the tasks they perform. read more
